Chapter 31: Is It Over? (Part 3)

It's already a month since the trial. We present critical evidence and include all the witnesses. Galih was present in court with his mom. It's a closure for me.

"Babe," I looked at my wife right now. She is the one who stays with me until the end.

"Here, try this," she sips the tea.

"It's good," I put the ingredients inside a container. We were on our honeymoon. I want quality time with my wife before our future baby ruins everything.

"Hey, I want to ask about your new book," I looked at her.

"What?" I asked. Rose hugged my arm and looked at me.

"Are you sad?" I shook my head. Oh, I think I know.

"No. Why?" She shook her head.

Someone banged on our door. "Stay back!" I picked up my handgun and put it on my back. I opened the curtain. Oh, him. I opened the door.

"It needs days to track you down," Galih gave me an invitation. "Can you let me get inside? It's chills outside." I let him get inside our trailer.

I took a deep breath and let him sit on the armchair, "you need a drink?" He shook his head.

"I'm here because I want to say something to you," I crossed my leg and straightened my body. "I've made a fatal mistake to you, Lobak. I'm sorry for that." It's a genuine apology from you. "I don't know that you and Eva were a couple because she said she's single," he said.

"Why were you have the courage after the trial?" He straightened his body.

"It's my mom's order not to tell you after the trial ended. W-we haven't heard a single thing about our ex was," he's got the point. I haven't received the payment.

"You want to go there?" Rose leaned her head on my shoulder.

"With you?" She shook her head.

"I want to sleep," she said. I stood up and grabbed my phone and money clip. Then I'm wearing my jacket.

I took a deep breath and relaxed my body.

"You ready?" I send Hanks a text message. "It's better you go to her house first. I want to do something," Galih walked away.

I looked at Rose. "Are you sure?" Rose nods. "We haven't received the payment." I nodded. She was right. We haven't received the payment. The Judge sentenced her to pay a fine of one billion Rupiah in 5 years. If she escapes, she will spend her life in jail for 15 years.

I walked to my car. "Can you guard Rose for a while?" I can smell the cold breeze from this tea field. We decide to camp nearby and rent a villa. In the villa for Hanks and his family, we slept inside the trailer.

I Reggie sends the car, and after that, he gets back to his house by train. I did not trust Galih because he was unpredictable. I wanted to visit someone first.

I got out of the car. I looked at the dirty porch, shattered glass, wall full of gravity, broken fence, and empty spray can. I took a deep breath and walked to the house. I knocked on the door.

"Excuse me, who are you looking for?" I looked at my back and approached her. Maybe she's her neighbor.

"I'm looking for the owner of this house," she was a 'Karen.' I could tell from the way she dressed. Jewelry, brand new clothes, and everything were brand new. She's the one I was looking for, people like her likes gossip and complaints a lot.

"Oh... they have gone after that," she said. I narrowed my eyes. Does she escape? No, maybe she's mistaken.

"Can you explain more, ma'am?" Lucky me! I put my mask on.

"After the trial aired, they did not get out of the house. Yesterday, I saw an electrical worker cut their electricity," Huh, it's weird.

I don't find any bill letters or stacked bills lying around this yard. "Okay, thank you." I walked to my car and drove to her dad's house. I hope Galih hasn't arrived yet. The trial aired because of the rooftop incident.

I did not see anyone, and the house looked the same, some shattered glass, a dirty porch, and a lot of gravity on the wall. I don't want to get into this mess again. I should go back when the nighttime.

It's time to charge my car. It's an electric car, not a regular car. I heard Elon bought a Twitter, and now he was the owner of Twitter. I never expected he could buy a Twitter because I thought Twitter couldn't sell the ownership. Maybe he could monetize all of the car factories in the world.

I get out of my car and charge. "It's..." I held her hand and glared.

"Where do you want to go? Are you avoiding your duty to pay the fine!?" She pushed me and ran. That girl! I took a deep breath and sighed. Unbelievable! I picked up her purse and took a peek inside.

I approached her and returned her purse. "You stole it from me!?" All people inside this waiting room stared at us.

"You can check the CCTV if you want," I picked up my money clip and opened the refrigerator to buy a drink.

She bumped into me, and I took a glance at her.

I put my Coca-Cola at the table and tried not to make eye contact, "5,500 IDR," I gave the owner cash.

"She's worked here?" The owner nods while she counts my money. "Here's your change," I sat nearby the refrigerator. It's time to inform my wife that I will be late.

It's not over yet. I can feel Eva will do something. I observed her from the waiting room.
