The school day wrapped up pretty quickly and before I knew it that was the end of my first day. If I was to be honest with myself. Today was already a day I would never forget. Yeah most of it was just trouble but it made me lots of really cool friends. Which for some reason I still feel weird saying their my friends since we just met. But who cares as long as they are happy with me.
I slowly made my way off campus to walk home. As I walked away I could feel stares jabbing at my back.
Listen if I knew how to fly I would!
"So how was your first day?" Asked Rikiwari who was walking with me.
"Could've been better."
"Awww, don't say that. It's only the first day and you already made loads of friends." She said as she latched onto my arm.
"Don't give me that. All I did was meet a couple of people for the first time." I said as I shook her off.
Rikiwari walked in front of me and looked me in the eyes as if trying to see if I was lying. After a bit she puffed her cheeks and pouted.
"You look like an ugly squirrel doing that." I said as I walked around her.
"Come onnnn. I've been so much nicer to you, so why are you still so mean?" Rikiwari said trying to stop me. But turned into her being dragged along by me.
"Just because you have been the tiniest bit nicer to me doesn't mean you aren't annoying." I responded stopping.
Once I stopped Rikiwari ended up running into my back. Making her rub her nose from the collision.
"Anyway, I have to go this way." I said pointing to the right of a fork in the road.
"Oh.. I go the other way." Rikiwari said.
There was a bit of awkward silence. Which was awkward so I decided to just walk away. Rikiwari softly tugged at my shirt making me turn back around.
"Hey. So I... I kinda get really impulsive at times and end up just saying whatever's on my mind.. I also tend to latch onto people who don't immediately hate me. So I know I've been really obnoxious but you still talk to me and you don't tell me to actually go away... So thank you for being so nice to me." Said Rikiwari who was blushing and had trouble keeping eye contact with me.
"All I did was just basic stuff. Plus you aren't half bad."
"Thank you for being my friend Shun."
Rikiwari said those words with a huge genuine smile that threw me off. After having said those words she waved goodbye and walked away.
Ahhhh what was that smile. That smile was just so genuine that it actually made her look really pretty. She better stop making faces like that before I lose it.
I shook my head and just continued walking home. Which is an amazing walk. There are so many trees and all of them had flower buds on them. Just imagining what it would look like when they fully bloom made me excited.
"Shun!" Shouted Mom and Dad.
Both of them stood on the other side of the gate waiting for me. Once they saw me they waved me down and ran towards me.
"Oh how was your first day sweetie?" Mom asked as she linked arms with me.
"Did you make any friends?" Asked Dad.
"It was really fun. And I think I made lots of friends." I said with a smile.
Once we got inside they gave me time to go change out of my uniform. Which was the only thing that wasn't blue in my room. Once I was done I joined my parents in the dining hall of the house. Which since there was only three of us we only sat at the edge of the table. However, on the table there was enough food to feed ten people.
"Why so much food?" I asked in awe of the amount.
"Well I just thought you didn't really eat well at lunch. Since the food for the misfits isn't the best." Responded Mom saddened by that fact.
"I mean I didn't eat lunch nor did I get a good look at our food. But I don't think that it's that bad." I responded really doubtful.
"How come you didn't eat lunch?" Asked Dad who sat at the head of the table with me and Mom on both sides of him.
"That's a long story. So let's just say that I'm surprised that I'm not in trouble."
"Is someone bullying my baby?" Asked Mom with a tone and look in her eyes that was pure murder.
"No no no. To some it up. I got in a fight with some noble who hated Beast-Demons. Because he hit a really pretty girl named Sarah Wataf. Then at lunch I almost fought Alena Wataf for the same reason until I was stopped by Noah Turof." I explained.
I sat there scared of their response. And when Dad lifted his head to respond I flinched expecting to be hit.
"Did you win?" Asked Dad with a fire in his eyes.
"I mean he stood no chance against the Gravity Manipulation you guys gifted me." I said pridefully.
"Atta boy. Now that's my son, standing up for what's right and protecting others." Dad said as he rubbed my head.
Mom stood up and started serving the food. Once she served Dad he thanked her with a kiss on the cheek. She walked around and started putting food on my plate. Once she was done I thanked her.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Asked Mom with a grin.
"I don't think so. I washed my hands and everything." I said confused.
Mom leaned forward and poked her cheek. I looked away and began to blush. I quickly gave her a peck on the cheek then shoved my face with food. Which made me ecstatic. I had never tasted anything remotely close to how delicious this was.
"It's delicious!" I said after I gulped down all the food in my mouth.
"Oh that makes me so happy! How about tomorrow I make you breakfast too this time?" She asked.
"I would absolutely love that!" I responded overjoyed which made her even happier.
We sat there and ate our food and just talked about anything. It was something beautiful that made me smile the whole time. For some reason it felt like a new experience but I think that's from the amnesia. So I won't give it another thought. But it did give me mixed feelings about things.
"So did you learn anything at school today that you want us to clarify?" Asked Dad.
"I mean I do have a couple of questions. A lot of them are combat based. But I do want to ask about Noah. How did he earn his title?" I asked.
"Terror Of The Jungle." Said mom with gloom washing over her and dad.
"As you've learned the Royal Wataf family has Beast-Demons serving under them. These demons at one point were only apart of the Turof Clan." Explained Dad.
"Noah did say something about them being the original Beast-Demon Clan."
"Exactly. And in that point in time the Watafs were in power. They recruited them to be apart of the military because of their 'beast' like war tactics and ferocity. So they grew in power from there becoming one of the prominent clans." Said Mom.
"However, the majority of that clan sees respect only in power. So when the last Demon King revealed what used to be an act of treason the Turofs struck. They took that opportunity to rise in power once again. But Noah was the only one who didn't agree that actually stood against them. And in that battle he single handedly wiped out the entire opposition. If he was the only one that stood loyal he would have wiped out his entire clan by himself." Dad explained with what seemed to be a face of worry.
I know I sensed how powerful he is in the student council room. But having met him, his appearance really doesn't match this act of violence.
But now that I think about it. That would have been impossible for me to do. Noah would have had to kill people that used to be his friends and family. People he grew up with and raised him. Dead by his own hands at his feet. Now I can see why they would be worried about him.
We sat there in silence for a bit before I broke the silence.
"So today I used a spell I didn't know the incantation for and I turned into a toddler."
To my surprise my parents faces absolutely light up. They bolted up and dragged me outside to one of the combat fields.
"Now this is absolutely perfect!" Dad said with a sort of fire in his eyes.
"I think this is the proudest a mother could be." Said Mom tackling me with a hug.
Cant breathe
"Sweetie these are your Crest and Personal Bonds." Mom said giving me a second to breathe.
"Honey, come here and let's show him." Dad said excited to the point where I could easily picture him as a dog.
The two of them stood side by side and struck a pose. Mom made an elegant pose that of a model while Dad posed as if he was taking a picture with the guys. And in that moment they were enveloped in smoke. As the smoke rose up a huge rush of power smacked into me. It was so strong that it felt like a punch to the gut which brought me to my knees. I looked up to see my parents completely changed.
Dad turned into a skinny, wrinkly, old man. His hair looked like he was just struck by lightning with a long beard reaching his chest. While Mom was now half her height and looked like someone who would be in high school but would get mistaken for a kid. Her mature curves were completely gone.
"Built like a door." I said under my breath.
Mom in a split second appeared in front of me and lifted me up by the collar of my shirt.
"Who are you saying is built like a door?" Mom said as if she was prepared to give me a thousand deaths.
Now I can see where I get my anger issues from when I go toddler.
"I'm going to assume that this is my Crest Bond." I said too afraid to answer her question.
"Hee hee hee. Indeed it is." Dad responded.
Mom put me down and walked away with a pout. Once she joined back up with Dad they turned back to their original forms.
"I'm so sorry for my behavior. But if that's how you react to women then I worry if you'll ever find a girlfriend." Said Mom with a hand to her cheek.
"Now to answer your question as to why you turned into a toddler against your will. Our Crest Bond lets us transform into a more suitable form to allow us to release more energy that would usually take too much from our original form. So from that information you probably transformed because you were trying to summon up too much strength than you can handle. However, the good news is that we can train up that limit so you can be stronger without needing to transform. So when you do choose to transform it increases that power limit by fifteen percent until you train that form up too."
Okay now all that makes sense. But hell that's a lot of training I would have to do. Not only would I have to train my original form but I would have to do the same to the toddler form.
"Now as for the other two bonds I can explain that. The first one is that you were able to use a spell you didn't know the incantation to. Now that's an Individual Bond you inherent from me which makes me so proud. This bond lets you use any spells without needing to cast an incantation. Which lets you be even sneakier and more dangerous. Secondly, is the fact that you used something you didn't even know was a spell. That is probably your Personal Bond. Your Personal Bond probably tracks your emotions and uses that to help amplify your strength. It probably sensed that you wanted something stronger so it made you use a new spell." Mom explained.
That would explain why when I snapped at Alena my Gravity Manipulation went off on her. If that's the case then that's pretty dangerous. For everyone else if they try to step up to me. Ha ha ha.
From that explanation Dad made me train my original form from the get go. He made me use Vara thousands of times back to back until I could barely move. Then he would let me take a break for a minute then I would be back at it again. We repeated this cycle until nightfall. After my training was done I showered and kissed them goodnight.
"I am tired beyond belief. But taking everything into consideration I think it was definitely worth it all. I can't wait for tomorrow." I thought to myself as I snuggled up in my bed.
