I stayed in this position for a couple of minutes now. However, I eventually lifted my head and laid back against the wall.
"Feeling better now?" Asked Alena.
"Yeah.. A lot better." I responded with a light smile.
"How about the next time we see each other again you don't make me worry like that." Said Alena.
"Oh, so I make you worry?" I asked with a grin.
"Well if you're already back to making jokes I'd say you are better now." Said Alena blushing.
I sat there and sighed with a smile. I assumed that Alena was going to leave now that I was feeling better but instead she stayed with me a little longer. We sat there in complete silence until Alena softly punched my arm.
"As a royal someone probably sent someone to look for me so I should probably head back now. B-but.. Next time you feel like that. Come talk to me okay?" Asked Alena blushing.
"I'll keep that in mind. But I'd rather not worry the future Demon King with my problems." I responded.
"Hey, it is the duty of the future Demon King to make sure that all their subjects are doing okay." Said Alena acting all high and mighty.
Alena got up and began to head back to her class.
"Thank you." I said when Alena got far enough to where I thought she wouldn't hear me.
Instead when I said those words Alena waved to me goodbye. Which this whole situation kind of made me see her in a different way.
"I guess it should be time for me to head back to class too." I thought to myself as I got up.
I was in no rush so I slowly made my way back. As I walked I had a faint smile on my face. And as I approached closer and closer to my class the louder the sound was. I entered the class that was so chaotic that no one but Saki noticed I got back.
"Are you feeling better?" Asked Saki.
"Yeah. Also I'm sorry about what I did earlier." I apologized while avoiding eye contact.
"It's okay Shun. I know you haven't been feeling too good. Why don't you just relax and we can talk more about the battle after lunch." Proposed Saki.
I mean just taking it easy sounds really good about now. But I'm definitely worried about how this battle is going to go if we don't seriously think about it. I'm used to making a scene but I'd rather not embarrass others. But it also wouldn't do us any good if Saki just worries about me the whole time.
"I mean we only have ten minutes till lunch so why not." I responded with a smile.
Saki and I just sat there and talked about the first thing that came to mind. Which in this situation was just me rambling while she listened. But her smile didn't leave. Not even once and I'd even be able to make her laugh at my stupid jokes. Which made me really happy.
Eventually the bell rang ruining our fun. But luckily enough Saki wanted to continue talking. So as we walked to lunch we continued talking which made Rikiwari pout behind us for some reason. Jealous much?
"Hey Shun, did you bring the lunch I made you?" Asked Saki tugging at my shirt as we entered the cafeteria.
"Yup, I've got it right here." I said lifting it up.
The rest of the guys in the class gave me a glare. Even Gogo which was surprising for me and was actually scary with how he looks. No offense buddy.
"That's not fair! Shun why don't I make you lunch tomorrow?" Asked Rikiwari with stars in her eyes.
"No thanks. I choose life." I said as I sat down at our table.
Rikiwari turned away to hide her tears as I put my lunch on the table. I opened it up and was almost scared to dig in. Especially since Saki sat next to me and wouldn't take her eyes off of me or blink. I really didn't want to ruin this meal since it looked so nice but foods food. I slowly picked up my utensils and took my first bite.
"So how is it?" Asked Saki leaning in.
"See. Your cooking was probably so bad that he's trying his best to be nice to you." Responded Rikiwari.
"Oh like you could do any better?" Challenged Saki butting heads with her.
"Ladies please don't fight in the middle of lunch." Said Sarah trying to dissolve the situation.
"She started it." Saki quickly added.
Rikiwari quickly stuck her tongue out at her.
"Come on. Let's all just relax and be friends. I seriously doubt it's anything too serious." Sarah said trying her best.
"Saki cooked lunch for Shun." Rikiwari shouted turning it into a scene.
Everyone in the cafeteria turned there heads and began to watch. They all acted as if this was a skit put on for their entertainment. Besides Alena who sat there trying to hide her own jealousy and blush.
"Okay now I can see where this could turn into a competition. But this is not the place to be arguing." Said Sarah trying to keep calm.
*sniff*
"A-are you crying?" Asked Rikiwari.
The truth was that I am crying. But everyone else was a little preoccupied to even realize. But I couldn't even respond to the question. I was in my own little world as I ate the food. It reminded me of the cooking that mom made. It was similar but somehow this one is special.
I sat there and ate my food as everyone around me watched as I ate with tears falling from my eyes. Which I honestly didn't want to become a spectacle for the whole school. But it was fun and kind of ironic that the misfit class was the ones that left everyone in awe. I finished the food and just sat there.
"H-how was it?" Asked Saki.
"Do you think you could cook for me again?" I responded with a smile.
"Y-yyy-yy-yeah.. I-i-it's not too-o hard to do." Said Saki turning red.
"Jeez Shun, if it was that good you should have left some for us to try." Said Scar checking for some crumbs.
"Not a chance." I responded with a grin.
"Well now that that's settled can we not make a scene next time?" Asked Alena walking over. The two of us made eye contact then quickly looked away from each other blushing.
"Y-yeah no problem." I responded.
"T-that's great to here. Let's go Sarah." She said as the two of them walked away.
Today has been extremely stressful. But I wouldn't say it was completely bad either. I mean I feel like I got closer to the ice princess and I did taste some tasty food. But with there being good there is also bad. Because when we got back to the classroom Saki and I still struggled figuring out what to do for the class battle. Especially since everyone else had theirs figured out.
"Great it's almost the end of class and we still haven't figured out what we're going to do." I said hitting my head against the table.
"It's going to be fine. We'll find something cool to do." Said Saki as she put her hand in-between my head and the table.
"It's nice to have someone who's calm about this." I said giving her a head pat.
"W-well it's b-because I b-believe in you." She said blushing.
All I'm going to say is that her faith is in the wrong hands. I can't do anything right to save my life. Because if I could I would have found something for us to do.
"H-h-hey Shun." Said Saki avoiding eye contact with me.
"Hm?" I responded.
"D-d-d-do yyyou t-think I c-c-could come o--oooo--oover t-today?" Asked Saki turning a new shade of red.
What the hell did she ask? It was almost like she asked if she could come over to my place. There's no way that's what she said right? She actually did ask to come over! What am I supposed to do here? I can't just tell her no because I'm a nervous wreck and have never had a girl over before. My heart is racing so fast that I think it's going to burst out of my chest.
"Give me a sec to just call my dad and ask." I said before leaving class.
I leaned up against the wall of the hallway and took a deep breath.
"Ziv Dad." I said making a purple magical circle appear on my hand.
"Shun is everything okay? Did anything happen?" Frantically asked Dad.
"No, I'm fine I just wanted to ask you something before school ends." I responded.
"I mean I am really happy that I ended up being your first call but don't you have class right now?" Dad asked.
"Yeah but it's the misfit class so I just took the opportunity to call." I responded with a sigh.
"I guess that's fine. Just don't make a habit of that because the upper classes won't let you do things like that. Anyway what did you want to ask me?" He asked.
"Well we are kind of working on a project so I was wondering if my friend could come over so we could work on it." I said just relaying the information instead of asking.
"Oh the class battles. I was notified about that and can't wait to see what you guys come up with. But I don't have any problem with that. And I believe that your mom would be more than happy to have your friends over so we could finally meet them." He responded sounding excited.
"Great I'll let her know." I said about to end the call.
"Oh it's a girl!? HONEY SHUN'S BRINGING A GIRL OVER! We have to get everything ready for when she get's here!" Shouted Dad on the other end.
"Dad no it's nothing like that. Dad? Hey dad! Great he ended the call. As if I couldn't get any more nervous." I said to myself.
I turn around and see everyone even Anton peeking through where the door should be listening in on my conversation. I quickly flashed my red eyes and everyone ran back inside. I went back in and sat down next to Saki.
"I got the okay for you to come over." I reported.
"Great. Now I just can't wait." Said Saki very happy.
This sounds just like the beginning of my end.
