Chapter – 53: Bloodline experiments - 4

[Rei Clone POV]

After collecting and storing blood samples, I return to my place in the Land of Noodles. The next day, the reinforcements from Mizukage also arrive.

"Mashashi-san, we should leave immediately. There seems to have been a big battle nearby yesterday, more fights can happen again soon. We might even get caught in the crossfire if we stay here any longer…"

"Okay, Just give me a minute to prepare and we can immediately set off," I say.

"Mashashi-san looks a bit different today…" murmurs one of the anbus who escorted me.

After a few minutes of packing, everyone left for Kiri.

Back in Konoha.

[Rei POV]

Two weeks have passed since I lost my first clone. Never to worry, I will have a new one ready in about two to three weeks and not to mention the reward I got, it was totally worth the sacrifice.

Yesterday, the first batch of profits from my investments in Kiri arrived. Although my clone did encounter some bandits, none of them were shinobi so they didn't pose any trouble at all; especially after the special poison I was able to procure in Kiri.

Thirty-seven samples from the Yuki clan, five from the Terumi clan, one from the Hōzuki Clan, one from the Kaguya clan, and six samples from the Konoha shinobi summing up to a grand total of Forty-nine samples!

What I am most excited about are the blood samples of Fugaku and the one from the Kaguya clan with Shikotsumyaku. For me, all of the others put together couldn't match the importance of these two.

I am currently lacking six active genes from the Uchiha bloodline. Although I can't say I have collected blood samples of all the Uchiha, I surely have collected the majority. But I still couldn't find them!

The first part is to identify Fugaku's blood from the samples I have collected from the blast site. It was actually pretty easy to separate them. There was only one other Uchiha present that day and I didn't leave behind any blood, so the remaining must be from Fugaku. Therefore, I just have to look for the blood with Otsutsuki genes and I will be able to find it easily.

Identifying was easy, next comes the important part. I carefully place the test tube with Fugaku's blood inside the centrifuge and start it.

Close to ten minutes later, 'A. I chip! Mobilize atomic microscope!'

[Beep! Authorization received. Mobilizing atomic microscope please wait.. 1… 2… 3… Done!]

'Fugaku's cells have Ninteen active Uchiha genes!' I exclaim after analyzing the sample, 'And more importantly, I have found Three new active genes! THREE! Now, I only have three more to go…'

'Worth it… Totally worth it…'

Before this, I was lacking six genes, the 19th, 21st, 22nd, and the last three 25th, 26th, and 27th according to the order in which I plan to activate them. Now, after getting Fugaku's blood sample, I have got the first three among them. With this, I can go on for a long time with the Seal of Ouroborous before lacking a gene to activate…

Also, with this sample, I can finally narrow down the number of genes I need to activate to obtain the Mangekyo. It could either be eighteen or nineteen; as I have seen someone with seventeen active genes with three tomoe. But my bet is on the eighteenth because the 9th gene which is at 33% bloodline activation awakened the third tomoe, so it makes sense that the 66% one or the eighteenth one will awaken the Mangekyo and full awakening of bloodline results in the EMS.

'Eighteen… I should reach that in about a year…' I currently have thirteen active genes and still need about a month to complete the activation of the fourteenth. On average, it takes two and a half to three months to completely activate a gene. So, close to thirteen months before I can get the Mangekyo, I wonder what my abilities will be…

Next is the Kaguya clan blood sample. I am actually really interested in their ability and I always felt they were kind of underrated. I repeat the same procedure with the Kaguya clan blood sample too.

After eagerly waiting for the centrifuge to stop, I started to analyze the sample. Sure enough, they have the Otsutsuki genes too; twenty-one of them in fact. Also, this sample contained fourteen active genes!

From what I have observed with the Uchiha genes so far, once an Uchiha starts to activate their Otsutsuki genes, their eyes start to change. When the bloodline activation reaches a certain stage, they will gain special abilities; Mangekyo. However, there is a catch. The more one uses these abilities, the more their eyes are injured and their vision worsens until one day they become completely blind!

If you look at it, there are a lot of similarities between the two clans. For the Kaguya clan, once their bloodline activation reaches a certain degree, they also obtain special abilities; Shikotsumyaku, and as usual there is a catch there too and a more brutal one at that. Since Shikotsumyaku changes all the bones inside the body, the more they use it, the more their body is injured. Until finally, their entire body gives in on them and they die!

The worst fate that an Uchiha can suffer for using their powers too much is just blindness, but for the Kaguya clan members, it's actually Death!

So, if two-thirds activation of the Uchiha clan bloodline gives Mangekyo then, two-thirds of the Kaguya clan one gives Shikotsumyaku? I wonder what the other two bloodlines give…

I have to quickly collect some Senju blood samples. The problem is, I am sure that the Uzumaki's are somehow different than the Senju. Therefore, I am afraid that adding any genes from their bloodline into the Hagoromo's that I am trying to complete might cause some unknown mutations, which is the reason I am not so keen on using any of the genes from Tsunade's blood.

What I need are pure Senju genes. I know I can gather all active genes if I can get my hands on some of Hashirama's cells, but the problem is the inactive ones. Do I really need to go grave robbing?
