Superior Race

Chapter 15: Superior Race

After locking the door, Vis walked down the stairs.

The ground floor of the inn looked more like a tavern instead.

All guests had been enjoying drinks and talks while ignoring the daily life outside. It didn't matter whether it would be day or night, a lot of guests would enjoy some liquor.

It was because their sole purpose was to get a room in the city and spend a little time here to increase their lifespan.

Though it wouldn't be that effective compared to other places in Blessed Port City, the stay in the inn also could increase one's lifespan.

Vis' appearance didn't surprise anyone.

Even though he was small, people also didn't seem to mind him ordering something. Was it the cultural difference or was it the apple juice Vis ordered that changed everyone's impression of him?

Vis knew that those people wouldn't bother him much as they wanted to enjoy their stay here as long as possible.

He took a sip of apple juice, then reached out for the closest man.

This man was kitted out in rough leather clothes belonging to the warrior, a sword casually placed on the desk next to the cups.

"Isn't it boring to drink without beautiful gender's company?" That was how Vis began the talk.

His choice of words gathered the attention of the closest man and his buddies that laughed out loud with slight pity, "Unfortunately, we didn't have enough money to bring them here! Let's drink for them more!"

"Yeah! We will reward them hefty once we return too!" All surrounding cups went up joyfully while the empty ones shivered on the desk due to the abrupt cheers!

Vis laughed out faintly, his words reaching everyone now that he had gotten their attention, "If we talk about the beautiful gender, then I guess Lula clansmen are the top. Right?"

The drunk people nodded rather instantly to this question.

Some reached out for the meat with their bare hands and tore a little of it before putting it into their mouths.

Such a rough reaction told Vis that there should be only a few lucky outsiders to get Lula clansmen's company or heart.

"Yeah, their beauty is blessed one! Haha!" The man threw some lame pun, then continued, "We would share our acquired lifespan for a night with one of their women! Am I right, men?!"

Cups went up, so the closest man was right indeed.

Vis had assumed that the Lula Tribe would be extraordinary, but it seemed like out of races here, they were truly out of reach for common people.

A lot of races could be seen in the inn and all of them exuded sharp and powerful auras, so Vis could just agree with the drunk people.

He then feigned some innocence, "Have there been any lucky man to marry one of those ladies? From the outside their tribe, I mean."

"You must be new here! It's a known fact that the Lula Tribe accepts marriages with other races as their race is a superior one." The man patted Vis' back, "New and naive! If you stay like that, then you will die soon! Haha! It would be a pity as you can grow up into a handsome man!"

"I think I am naive when it comes to beautiful gender! When my eyes landed on Lula Woman, I felt my heart fluttering! Is it love and romance?" Vis feigned once more.

"Hahaha!" And the row of laughter descended upon him! Even some drunk people further away laughed and wished good luck for Vis by taking a few more beers for themselves.

After cups clinked, Vis asked, "Superior race, what does it exactly mean?"

The man didn't hide anything as it was known knowledge, "It means that their race can't mix with other ones. Lula Woman will give birth to her race and the poor man can only pass some of his characteristics to his descendants. It's often hair or eye color, just that."

He sighed and continued, "Lula Man will be in a similar situation. His beloved woman will just pass a little. In some rare cases, the descendants can look similar after their mother, but that's just to their humanoid form."

It sounded rough for the couple, but it was not the end, "Such couples can enter the Dream Wall but live in the outskirts. It still would be a blessing for us, though."

"I see! Thanks for sharing it with me!" Vis innocently shouted, "It looks like a marriage between races can be really challenging."

"Nahhh, I have seen a lot of mothers and daughters whose looks were so identical one could mistake them as sisters. It's not a big deal, just a matter of luck and genes. Anyway, get stronger and you might have a shot with Lula Woman in a few years! Haha!"

"Maybe! Haha!" Vis laughed with the men, drank all of his apple juice, then left the ground floor.

Some people had looked at him with disgust as Vis didn't seem to talk back when the drunk men called him weak or young.

It seemed like some people could tell that he was an adult despite his small height.

Nonetheless, why would Vis even care about those people nor those pointless remarks?

Would he meet those people in the future? All of them? Certainly not! And if some individuals barred his way in the future, then Vis wouldn't even remember their impression of him as those people were simply random.

Vis got what he wanted, didn't cause any mess, and just enjoyed a drink with people.

It was a rewarding day he was proud of, but some onlookers' disgust hadn't disappeared until he returned to his room.

"Really… So bothersome people. Such pride will kill them one day." Vis uttered to himself, then glanced at Miku whose beauty he had just talked about.

He saw her blue mist gathering around her hands, so her dullahan image and comprehension kept growing.

Thus, he took a seat near the window and enjoyed the Blessed Port City before going to the Dream Wall, "The outskirts are fine. We will enter the main part soon after." Vis was sure of it as he glanced at Miku.
