You are the same as me

Chapter 14: You are the same as me

"And another piece just got depleted," Vis threw a piece of armor from the Merthic Empire's soldier.

This piece shattered upon contact with the ground and turned into dust.

This effect always left Vis wondering about its structure and manufacture, "It's like armor made out of pure energy, isn't it?"

The reason it turned into dust should've been because Vis took its whole energy for himself. He had been doing it ever since finding his hardening skill called Silver Skill.

Of course, Vis believed that armor shouldn't turn into useless pieces of junk after losing its energy. It should still keep its form and protect the soldier until the end.

But this armor shattered like nothing and just left Vis pondering about his home.

However, Miku was the one whose home was the closest!

It's been more than a month already.

Vis and Miku's journey had been undisturbed and both of them continued to grow stronger by relying on each other.

For Vis, he had been using all available energy from the armors to strengthen his silver skin. After each absorption, Vis would dance with Miku whose hands would be equipped with blue gloves.

Doing it immediately after absorbing turned out to be a great method as Vis could feel more strength within his fists after around a week.

The fifth prince was already close to the Blessed Archipelago, so he didn't bother much with the armor and stood up to continue his journey.

-

"This is… Blessed Archipelago." Vis raised his hand to cover his eyes from the blazing sun.

It's already been a month, so Vis was no longer in the Merthic Empire's lands. He didn't need to hide his appearance that much and wore light clothes which didn't hide much of his skin nor features.

This place was indeed called Blessed Archipelago, but four walls had been protecting this land ever since.

That was why the islands stretching their lands far away from him weren't exactly the sacred place.

This didn't mean much to Vis as his goal was to get rid of necromancers in Miku's tribe anyway!

Vis headed down to the port city that was one of the independent cities close to the Blessed Archipelago. This city was leveraging the aforementioned place and used its waters for its own business.

"Welcome to the Blessed Port City!" One of the residents barred Vis' way and passed him a sheet with information about Blessed Port City!

This was more of an advertisement, though.

The astronomical costs for the houses were all listed up on the sheet and Vis shook his head as even the royal family would be careful while buying a house here.

Vis knew why the prices were so high here, "People's lifespan gets longer by living here. Is this really that simple?" He questioned himself amidst the crowd that was busily moving around.

If one had no business here, then one would get immediately kicked away from the city. No homeless people could be spotted on the streets and the whole city was under great care as many people worked hard to keep it clean.

Vis headed to the closest inn and booked a room for himself.

He then closed himself within a small room and called out his second servant, "Miku, can you remember your status in the Lula Tribe?"

"I can't, Master," Miku shook her head slowly.

The plan became riskier, but Vis still decided to bet on it, "I will be your husband from now on."

"My… husband?" Miku tilted her head, not understanding much of this sentence. She knew what the husband meant, but her master was something else and far more important than the husband!

Vis just nodded and continued, "I will enter your tribe as your beloved. I always could try to suck up to the Lula Tribe from within this city, but that wouldn't be good in the long run. You are here with me and this alone complicates a few things."

If Vis suddenly got forced to fight, he would go all out by summoning his undead and the second servant would be the first to appear. She had a perfect cover that didn't make her undead at all.

If anything, Vis would still be able to keep his identity hidden.

"But I don't think people would try to spar with me without any reason. It's either kill or die, so your identity getting revealed is also high. We would get the Lula Tribe going against us if it were to happen."

"Yes," Miku replied as if not understanding much…

"Since our battle styles would expose us easily, we have to move from the shadows. It would be hard from this place, but things change if we were to have a house in the Dream Wall. That's why I want to take risks."

Vis wanted to make some information gathering before going to the Dream Wall which had Lula Tribe in its prime here! It shouldn't be hard to get some common knowledge about the Lula Tribe from Blessed Port City that was so close to it.

"We will go and try our luck tomorrow." Vis faintly smiled and ended the discussion with an important message, "If things turn bad, you will use your body to protect me."

"Understood, master," Miku's reply was so fast that Vis felt like explaining himself.

"Your clansmen shouldn't see through your that easily and even if they could, I don't think they would like to hurt their clansman's body. It sounds cruel, but you will be a great shield if necessary. If nothing happens, then just nod or say 'Yes' as I will be the one to speak the most."

"Yes." Miku nodded and replied as if already following an order.

Vis just smiled and said, "Repeat what I said."

His second servant didn't disappoint and recited everything he had just said now. Because the talk and preparation were about to take place, Vis left Miku in the room with a simple order, "Think about your dullahan's armor."

Looking at her blue glove, Vis already knew that Miku unconsciously imagined some kind of battle dress.

She was a woman, so it was kinda expected.

Seeing her nodding and doing everything like a robot, Vis suddenly stopped and turned around. He closed up distance and spoke while his eyes nearly touched Miku's.

Was there a reason why he got so close?

"Did you feel anything when I told you to be my shield?" His voice sounded indifferent.

"Yes, Master," Miku didn't distance herself, but just put a hand on her chest, "It hurt me here a little. I don't know this pain."

"That's great," Vis replied.

His words made Miku look at him with slightly parted lips which easily exposed her clueless mind.

Vis just patted her white hair and said, "It means you are the same as me. You know pain."

With those words left behind, Vis closed the doors and went for some common information-gathering while Miku soon ended up thinking of her dullahan's class.
