Chapter 19: Things progress fast!
Vis and Miku appeared before Dream Lake.
They held hands and looked like a couple, so nothing more than just a few curious glances had been sent their way.
Keeping up this cover, Vis smiled and acted as if remembering about his former life with his actual beloved.
Now that she no longer could be with him, Vis did his utmost best to forget about her.
However, Dream Lake had different plans.
It flashed with the images of his beloved, Vis' mother, and even friends that greatly helped him after he began the new life.
All of those were dreams that Vis couldn't see.
He had been unconsciously hiding those and now that everything became displayed before him, Vis sighed and enjoyed that slight lone moment.
He missed his family, but it was a mistake to completely hide those memories behind his heart.
Vis stood before the lake and relished those memories, then he reached out for the rake.
"I tend to make a lot of mistakes," Vis spoke while raking the road.
The whole Dream Lake spanned over a few kilometers and one couldn't see its other side. Apparently, this side also belonged to High Elders and it was their duty to take care of their own land.
The usual would be some servants taking care of it, but there were also occasional tasks done by common people that wanted more merits and money.
This place was also decorated by beautiful trees whose branches bent above the lake, but no leaves dared to fall onto it.
Instead, all of those got carefully blown onto the roads by the meticulous breeze that also liked to pull some pranks on the Lula Clansmen.
During his work, Vis spotted a lot of beautiful Lula Women.
One of them said, "This time, I will be the winner," Her eyes stood bright and clear, accentuated by her beauty.
However, she soon quickly added, "Bitch like you won't even be able to touch me!"
The other one retorted, "Just like no man would like to touch you? I guess so! It will be me slapping you instead," With her chin raised, the lady seemed imposing and quite venomous…
Both of them ended up turning to the Dream Lake where their spar began…
Soon, one of Lula Clansmen passed through them. This man was handsome and his eyes were like poison to the ladies' hearts.
His presence alone stopped the spar and the ladies went, "Ahhh!"
From the side, Vis chuckled, "Women… This world or the former one, most of them are the same," He continued his work with Miku nodding to his words.
If she knew that Vis thought of her as bitch before, she would surely tilt her head and ask for more…
The whole day had been spent on the Dream Lake.
Both Vis and Miku did more than they should, but they were content with the work they did. There was a sense of satisfaction welling up within Vis' heart as he could see the results of his work with clear eyes.
It was something different to his abilities related to titan bloodline and undead army because those could be mostly seen during the battle.
He also didn't feel much progress, but Vis was confident he hadn't stagnated.
After ending his work, Vis took the seat on the bench, "Let's repay the Dream Wall now. I feel like I became more energetic, but this might be just me feeling the effects of the Dream Wall increasing my lifespan."
He told Miku this and she sat down next to him. Both of them began to utilize the newly learned method and passed half of the acquired lifespan to the wall.
They didn't know that High Nami had been watching them for a while now.
-
[Vis' third day in the Lula Tribe.]
Vis woke up, glanced at the same ceiling, then raised his body.
"!"
His body tensed as there was an unexpected intruder within his house. How long had she been here? Vis questioned himself, but his eyes didn't leave High Nami whose appearance seemed like she enjoyed these two sleeping together.
"Both of you look cute," She said.
"I don't think that's a good choice of words, High Madame," Vis replied with a slight smile, then sat down properly on the bed's edge.
The lady knew what he meant, so she just chuckled and went to the main topic, "I believe we don't have much time, do we?"
"Is it about High Yoru?" Vis asked.
He noticed that High Madame just closed her eyes and nodded faintly, so Vis immediately understood that High Yoru had been suspicious for a good while already.
What he needed to know was how many people had been suspecting him so far!
This question was asked by Vis immediately after seeing this reaction.
High Nami opened her eyes, glanced to the side, then spoke, "It's just me and a few more high elders. We suspect a lot of people, but High Yoru is the most suspicious one. After you spoke about necromancers, it's fair to assume that he has taken their side."
"So you don't exactly know what he is up to?" Vis was shocked to hear this.
It wasn't like High Nami and her acquaintances weren't suspicious about necromancy, but they had no proof at all. They knew that High Yoru's recent moves had been suspicious and that he had been sending a lot of their clansmen outside.
The number was too much, even if it was a mission to get an experience.
The Lula Tribe also had enough resources to train their people and spars with other walls were nothing new.
"Is he a necromancer?" High Nami didn't explain much but just asked for a confirmation.
Vis nodded decisively to this. He was sure that High Yoru was a necromancer and that he took the side that the Blessed Archipelago was against!
So what if their powers could work well with necromancy if this power was still a sacrifice?
Not only normal people had to lose their souls to the Soul Collector, but the necromancers also tortured people and used their bodies for their benefit!
This was just too much and High Nami was ready to take down this man.
Her eyes shone with killing intent.
This light appeared so abruptly that Vis jumped on his bed and made a rather frightened expression.
"Ah, sorry," High Nami just smiled and closed her eyes.
Even if she found Vis' action cute, the frightened man was far from laughing or enjoying all this attention.
"High Madame, I can find all necromancers. They can't escape my eyes," Vis said, what lay on his mind, "I would like to get their necromancers' energies, not their bodies. That alone is enough."
"So you are also the same?" High Nami slightly opened her eyes.
Vis gulped down and answered, "I am different." He sounded resolute and confident of his principles.
The lady on the other side just sighed and agreed, "But I have to banish you two from our Dream Wall after this… You must understand me."
"I understand," His whole purpose was to hunt down necromancers and feed on their energies!
This was what Vis wanted!
