A few days were enough...

Chapter 20: A few days were enough…

It had been one day, but High Nami knew that time was not on her side.

She meticulously analyzed Vis and Miku's movements during their time on Dream Lake, then carefully watched over their main task.

Both of them had paid respect to the Dream Wall with genuine and pure intentions.

They knew that this wall was important and didn't want to cause any problems in the area. Even if it was an action done to not raise any suspiciousness, High Nami could tell that they did it because of their wish to stay as allies of the Lula Tribe.

Of course, High Nami wasn't a person who could read emotions with magic techniques, but her years of experience were used to analyze the 'couple'.

She could tell that Vis' had one goal and it was not her tribe's demise. He was also too weak to cause such a feat, but there was also the possibility that he had been hiding his strength.

Nonetheless, High Nami had to bet!

Even if it had been just one day, High Nami decided to bet on Vis and work together with him to overcome the hidden crisis in the Dream Wall.

If anything, she left the secret message to the patriarch that would contact him upon her wish.

"Where did she disappear?" She asked after confirming that Miku's presence could no longer be found by her.

High Nami wasn't a weak person who would lose track of someone that easily, so her eyebrows slightly went up with cautiousness.

Vis immediately dispelled her doubts, "She can not go with us," He reassured and told her that Miku's life wasn't in danger.

He wouldn't let her die or suffocate to death in an unknown place.

In most relationships here, the man was the one who had the last word.

High Nami couldn't question Vis for more and just agreed with his words as Miku herself shouldn't be unable to oppose him if she wanted to…

Nonetheless, the time was not on their side, so they had to work fast.

"Only High Elders such as High Yoru can sense me. I will use my strength to hide our presences and we will go one by one through every clansman," High Nami briefly explained.

Contrary to her expectations, Vis didn't throw a tantrum at all.

Why would she expect him to even throw it? Because the Lula Tribe was one of the four walls that had been protecting one of the miraculous lands. Their numbers were astronomical, so anyone would display some displeasure from such a task.

But Vis just nodded and decisively promised, "I just need one glance. We can take care of it in a few days," He didn't seem repulsed by the task, but embraced it with everything he got.

It brought up a nice smile on High Nami's face, "Yes, let's not waste any more time then!"

-

"Is this a special technique?" Vis asked after confirming that one of the Lula clansmen was 'clean'.

He asked about the technique to hide presence as it would be useful in various situations. Not only would he be able to trick some opponents, but he would also be able to escape if his comprehension of this technique turned out to be nearly perfect.

It wasn't anything new that some people could go against stronger ones by polishing their techniques by bringing them above their own body's limits.

High Nami's hand patted Vis' head, "It's a common technique. Didn't you learn it from your family?" She didn't press for more with this question, but quickly added, "The concept of this technique is to fill the gaps within our world."

It was something that Vis couldn't properly understand.

But as the known proverb goes 'Better to ask the way than to go astray', Vis just asked High Madame what exactly did she mean.

She couldn't help but smile at such a straightforward question, "You don't waste time, do you?" She laughed, "It's common knowledge that everything stems from the world. By filling the gaps, I mean the gaps that had been created in the world by people using the same or similar powers."

"So if I get this right, the dream power, the blue mist, stems from the world and people who had been using it ever since the old era created the gaps. You are filling those gaps with your own blue mist and blend with the world in this way?"

"Yes, you got it right," High Nami nodded like a teacher.

But Vis was kind of a bad student that didn't care about the teacher, but about the history. He immediately rolled his eyes and said, "No wonder this world hates everyone. People take and take, then use everything as much as they want."

How would it look like if Earth suddenly revolted and went for earthlings?

Vis momentarily thought as the same was back in his former world.

High Nami didn't know about this, but continued on the topic, "We would like to pay respect to the world, but it doesn't help us at all. It also sends calamities at us and what can we do about it other than going against it?"

"Maybe if all Lula Clansmen bow to the world, then it will take a look at you," Vis jested, but he felt like it would be a good idea to try it. He was actually surprised that people tried to pay respect to the world, but anything could be power here.

He just got a beautiful smile as an answer to his words, "Thanks for telling me this. Is there any tip High Madame can bless me with? I will pay for it in the future."

"Hmm… You must know about your origins. The more you know, the closer you become to the world and so you can find the gaps easier," High Nami passed valuable knowledge, but where could Vis learn about Titans?

He sighed and looked forward. There was another beautiful Lula Woman, but her heart seemed to be tainted by the greed and black disgusting aura.

Vis pointed at her with his eyes, then High Nami noted her name down on her list…

"She is another necromancer… We found quite a lot of them, didn't we?" Vis sighed. It looked like a lot of people would die soon, but the numbers weren't that big actually.

High Nami didn't seem that much bothered by it, but she was clearly disgusted by those people who went for such power.

"There is more to check… We also have to exclude High Elders' mansions and their servants," High Nami didn't comment on Vis' words but prompted him to work harder.

Both of them spent days and days on this task, then everyone that could be seen got noted down by High Nami.

By then, High Yoru used his authority to call Miku and Vis!

A few days were enough for Vis to cause a lot of problems for him!

It was something that High Yoru had yet to know about, though.
