Ghastly Abomination

Chapter 21: Ghastly Abomination

"Vis, I would like to introduce you to someone before you go to High Yoru," High Nami's words brought a lot of suspicion to Vis' heart.

Her voice was respectful even if she hadn't mentioned the name of this 'someone'.

This alone told him too much and Vis easily got nervous.

Vis hadn't acquired the retreat abilities yet, but he was close nonetheless.

Even though his progress had been already great for a newcomer in this world, Vis couldn't be all smiles and exude any confidence.

Though he did his best to show it, "I understand. Who it might be?" Vis failed to look composure and High Nami quickly spoke with a soothing tone.

She also failed, "It's one of Lula's Chairman… He is a person who taught me a lot and we have great trust in each other."

One of Vis' eyes twitched, then he glanced to the side as if trying to find an escape route. He quickly got rid of those useless features and faced High Nami with a normal tone.

A little of nervousness slipped away, though, "Does High Madame lack confidence? I feel like such a person has a lot of problems to deal with…"

"We don't know how many High Elders have sided with High Yoru… This matter is also too serious, so I have decided to ask Master Hayaran for help," High Madame's words made perfect sense, but Vis was the one who had been working undercover.

He couldn't be so lucky to meet considerable people one by one.

High Nami was one of the luckiest chances Vis got, so he was skeptical of any more help. But nothing came to his mind that would convince High Nami to just go with their actual forces.

He also had nothing to offer to make her change her mind.

"Master Hayaran is an intelligent person with boundless wisdom. He will understand you," High Nami reassured, then both of them went to meet the mysterious master.

The meeting wasn't something Vis would gladly recall later on.

Master Hayaran was an old man whose age didn't allow him to trust many people. His eyes easily discerned Vis' unusual state and the connection to the Soul Collector.

Though Vis could feel the cold stare on him all this time, he didn't say much other than confirming that High Yoru was a necromancer.

But there was something weird, "If he could sense that I am similar, then what did stop him from sensing the same from High Yoru… Oh fuck," Vis uttered to himself, but he quickly stopped thinking as Miku's voice rang out within his mind.

It wasn't telepathy or anything of the sort, but the words she had told him before already.

He was just thinking too much.

-

The meeting with High Yoru was just a few minutes away.

Vis clad himself in clothes he got from the Lula Tribe, then made his way to the high elder's house all alone.

Since one of the chairmen got invited to this whole event, High Nami and her acquaintances had been hidden not too far away from Vis.

No one should find them since Master Hayaran was the one to fill the gaps in the world.

His energies should blend so well that High Yoru would only notice them if he were to use all his powers on the gaps.

After walking for more than twenty minutes, Vis could see High Yoru's residence.

His residence spanned over a few kilometers and looked more like a hotel instead. This land was in meticulous hands belonging to the servants who were keeping an eye on nature with round-the-clock care.

Everything became meaningless for Vis, though.

All he wanted was to just go to the high elder and be over with this matter.

He had found so many necromancers and after this event, all their energies should belong to Vis.

He wanted to feel and see the effects of his hard work and fantasy powers…

That was why Vis just grasped the knob and opened the doors.

He didn't knock onto the doors respectfully nor called his name like some kind of low servant.

Rather than that, Vis was like the prince who could step everywhere he wanted.

However, it was just Vis who knew that he wouldn't get spared from the battle. In the end, High Yoru was an enemy he needed to face and all his hoarded efforts should sprout within the battle anyway…

"..."

"..."

"..."

On the other side, the darkness took over the mansion.

There were two rows of Lula People standing respectfully, their bodies hidden within the darkness.

Their eyes shone brightly, though; all of those directed at Vis who just displayed disrespect at the master of this place.

Vis instantly found High Yoru standing at the other end, his back facing him.

"Where is Miku?" High Yoru asked, his voice imposing.

He sounded even more arrogant than before. Was it because High Nami was not here or was it due to the high elders that were not too far away from him?

Vis could only assume a few things, but he answered the high elder's question first, "She is not here. I didn't bring her with me."

"The message was directed at both of you," High Yoru didn't like this answer.

But Vis couldn't care less. He raised his grayish at the high elder and straight-forward said, "Aren't we enemies? Let's be clear in this matter, High Yoru."

"..." High Yoru didn't flinch to these words.

Thus, Vis just continued to speak, "She is lowly Lula Clansman, a woman whose respect wouldn't matter much to the Dream Wall. She was on the mission that you had issued to a lot of Lula Clansmen, but you still decided to visit her upon her return."

"You are that suspicious of me?" High Yoru quietly whispered.

"If she has something within herself that you had planted before, then I can only get strong enough to detect it soon. For now, all I can do is just don't allow her to fight beside me and use something else to face you. You are… one of the first obstacles on my way. Miku will have a lot of opportunities to show off herself in the future for me."

A silence ensued.

It also felt a little colder in the mansion.

Soon, High Yoru turned around.

His face was distorted in utmost anger as if someone had thrown shit at him. He directed his narrowed, glittering with killing intent eyes at Vis and declared, "I will find her through you then."

His voice was like sharp blades, but all those paled in comparison to the blue-black mist that began oozing out of his body!

"I am so weak yet so important. I can't help, but feel honored," A smirk so irritating it felt devilish spread on Vis' lips after he had uttered those words.

A more imposing aura quickly appeared behind him as Master Hayaran also made his appearance.

Now that High Yoru exposed his necromancy abilities, he had to take things into his hands!

Master Hayaran began with a question, though, "Is it because of your wife?"

Hearing this question, High Yoru faintly smiled as if this old man could understand him wholly, "Yes. But there is a part of me that has been enjoying this whole situation genuinely… Master, our tribe is quite monotone, don't you think so?"

"..." Master Hayaran shook his head.

"I see… Being the chairman and one of the members of The Walls Table, you must have seen a lot of interesting things in the Blessed Archipelago. But for me, it's been monotone and I hadn't even realized it until I lost her. A part of me will do everything to have my beloved back… and another part will genuinely enjoy the process of it."

"That path is wrong, Yoru," Master Hayaran spoke with disappointment.

Before he could continue, another voice emerged out from the darkness, "Is it?"

The eyes of Master Hayaran dilated widely.

He soon directed another wave of disappointment at High Yoru, "You even allowed these people to enter our Dream Wall," He then threw his eyes at the boundless darkness, "Ghastly Abomination, has your master healed himself from the wound inflicted by the Soul Collector?"

"Not yet," A screeching voice answered, "But matters of My God and that piece of shit Soul Collector shouldn't be discussed by us, should it?"

"I agree," Master Hayaran raised his hand. A thick blue mist spread from it and summoned the Spiritual World that clashed with High Yoru's mist. This world overwhelmed the high elder flawlessly, but the Ghostly Abomination soon scoffed.

Black energy sprouted from the darkness and two worlds collided with each other, "Let's have fun and leave youngsters alone."
