Chapter 131

Impulse appeared in the navigation room of the ship, looking at Earth -2 through the windshield. Sighing, he closed his eyes, erasing his anger and frustration. He sat down on the Captain's chair, going through his plan. The light show when he shook hands with his doppelganger hands may prove that his plan to make him pay for his magic worked.

"Haah. Was that just Lucifer playing with me, or did it work?" He mumbled, leaning back on the chair. "There is no way to test it, so if I agree, I would be gambling with my soul... that isn't pleasing in the slightest."

He thought of it for a while before deciding to go through with it. All he can do right now is hope luck is on his side. He feels like waiting till the seventh day would make things more complicated, and he is in a hurry to gain magic. It is a risk, but it was worth the try.

"Lucifer Morningstar, I agree with the deal." Impulse said, hoping his Earth -2 counterpart is going to pay for his deal.

"Good to know, Rick." A voice sounded through the room. Impulse immediately stood up, looking around only to find no one around. "The soul of Univers -2 Rick Brandon would be taken as a payment, but the next time you make a deal with me, I would be taking your soul."

He let out a deep sigh, happy that the little stunt he played worked. "Thanks for the generosity." Impulse said with the most polite voice he could muster.

Suddenly he felt strange yet comforting energy erupts from deep within him, quickly spreading around his body. He grew more than two meters in height, his skin becoming red scales, with spikes coming out of places like his shoulder. A longhorn sprouted from his eyebrows, the tip of the horn being orange, red-orange eyes, and a wide mouth that is always grinning, showing its sinister teeth. From his wing bone on his back grew thin, long batlike wings, the tip of the wings being an arrow. Opening his mouth, he let out a loud shriek, sending waves of magic through the ship and into space.

'This is amazing. This power. The potential...' Floating up into the air, Impulse closed his eyes in bliss. 'This is exhilarating.'

Calming himself down, he first checked if he had his other Kree abilities, noticing most of them were still with him. The only ability missing was his ability to transform, which was a significant loss. Concentrating in his body, he found magic flowing through his every cell, produced by the burning inferno known as his soul.

He wanted to immediately test out magic but knew nothing on how to control it. The knowledge he gained from Masaru memories only showed him some things magic can do, not tell him how to use magic to perform said act. It is akin to showing a chef a cooked food and not telling them how it was created.

Sighing, he noticed something strange. It was like he was slowly dying like a small flame about to extinguish. He soon noticed what was the cause. His magic were being created by burning his soul, similar to firewood that keeps burning to keep the flame lit. His soul was the firewood, and his magic was the flames.

A sense of dread washed over him as he fell to the ground shivering. He was going to die due to magic. The magic he always wanted, he finally got, but now? They were killing him.

"Fuck. Fuck! FUCK!!!" Impulse shouted, slamming his fist into the ground of the Navigation room, causing the entire ship to tremble.

[Opperator, you have broken 100% of the ship's Particle Barrier. Please, calm down. With another hit, you would destroy the Travaler]

Impulse didn't hear Xerah's plea as he fell deep into his soul, searching for any solution to stop the burning. Hell, if he could, he would get rid of the Magic altogether. Fuck magic. Staying alive was his top priority. As his soul kept burning out, he kept searching through his soul. After 90% of his soul burned out, he found something. It was a 'switch.'

Fliping it, he transformed out of his demonic state. His skin turned normal. His horn and wings retreated into his body, with shoulder-length silver hair growing from his head. His eyes turned yellow, with his height shrinking. Not standing from his position, Impulse went back into his soul, finding it still burning. But slower. This, in turn, caused his magic power to drop more than 95%. But a clever still hung above his neck, which would stick down in a week.

'The burn rate of my soul has reduced, but it is still burning. In a week, I will die...' Impulse thought, shivering on the ground. Erasing all his emotions, he found his soul burn more than usual. It seemed like using any of his power would cause his soul to burn quicker. Exerting strength more than the average human would burn his soul quicker. His body has become so weak, it could break like a twig under the punch of someone like Batman. He was at his weakest point, weaker than when he came to this world. "Xerah, take me to C-3."

Impulse appeared in the Traveler's bridge, where C-3 sat on a chair, playing with her doll. Looking over, she saw her father staring at her, his skin pale as his body trembled like they were going to break at any moment. Throwing away her teddy bear, he quickly ran to him, catching him before he could fall to the ground.

"You will stay with me, right?" He asked, gasping for air as he spoke.

"Father, don't speak." She mumbled, her lips trembling as she tried to find what's wrong with him. She wanted to cry, seeing her God-like father this weak. She felt unsafe. She couldn't handle seeing him like this.

"Don't cry little one." Impulse mumbled, rubbing the back of her head. "All you have to do is keep me alive for 6 days, 23 hours, 55 minutes, and 33 seconds. Do you hear? Be strong, and just keep me safe."

"Yes, Father." C-3 sniffed, cleaning her eyes. Her teddy bear on the ground grew into a huge, menacing teddy bear, standing more than 10 feet high. It walked up to them, picking up Impulse and absorbing him into itself. Impulse completely disappeared into the teddy bear, his face soon appearing on the chest of the teddy bear. "Daddy, Teddie would keep you safe."

"Haha. You are a smart little girl." Impulse chuckled, seeing how she have gained enough control over her power to be able to control an inanimate object, made with Kree flesh and blood, to move like a living being. "Xerah, head back to Earth -1 to find Felix Faust then wake me. I am going to sleep to slow my death." With that he immediately went silent, falling asleep.

Once he fell asleep, he and the Teddy bear immediately disappeared from within the ship and appearing on the moon. The Traveler immediately turned around, shooting away from the moon and appearing close to Jupiter.

"Wha- What happened!?" C-3 stuttered, seeing her father disappeared.

Xerah's holographic form disappeared, replaced by holographic footage of the moon being. Due to the gravitational force Impulse within the Bear, the moon's tides became many thousands of times stronger than before. The fault lines of Earth ruptured, volcanoes blew their tops, and anything left on the surface of the Earth was wiped out. The sextillions of tons of vaporized rock that used to be the blue-green world were stretched out along a line, like Silly Putty drawn out by a vengeful god. The God being the sleeping Impulse.

This new gravitational force in the solar system was like a Brown Dwarf entering the solar system and had only a minor effect on planetary orbits, but Earth was gone.

[We would all die if the Operator stayed on the ship. He has the gravitational force of a Brown Dwarf, enough to completely crush the Traveler and maybe, you. The only reason his gravitational force hasn't been causing chaos is that he is always awake to keep that massive force contained in his body. Now he is unconscious, well, nothing is holding it back]

The footage zoomed in to show Impulse, floating through space, naked. The teddy bear has destroyed the strong force.

[It is better if I hurry and find this Felix Faust]

C-3 stared at the holographic image, before looking down at her feet. "Alright..." She mumbled, the Traveler immediately disappearing in white light.
