"Luna Wang."
Luna was shocked when Micheal called out her name when she walked out from the conference room. She masked it and turned her head towards the voice. She saw he was leaning sideway against the room wall with his feet crossed.
She faced him and gave a polite smile, "CEO Mu. Is there anything that I can helped you with?"
Micheal try to scrutinized her expression but she seem calm. As if his presence did not shocked her. Then he looked at the little girl beside her. Now they stood two meters away from each other, he can see their resemblance.
'She does looked a lot like her.'
"CEO Mu?" Luna called out when Micheal did not respond.
"Yeah..please come to my office. I've something to discussed with you," he said before he strode off to the lift.
Luna took a deep breath before following after him. They rode the elevator in silence.
"Ding."
The elevator opened at the top floor and they walked straight into his office.
"Have a seat. Want do you want to drink?" he asked before walking towards his table and pushed the intercom connected to the chief secretary outside.
"Water is find," Luna said.
Micheal placed their orders and two minutes later the chief secretary bought a tray of refreshments. He dismissed her before he took a seat opposite of Luna.
He saw Luna opened a can of juice and placed a straw inside before she passed it to her daughter. She patted her head indulgently. When Lily flashed her toothy smile, Luna kissed her cheek and smiled dotingly. She then sipped on her glass of water while waiting for Micheal to speak. But Micheal just kept his silence. She shaked her head helplessly.
'Guessed he was too shocked that his mind and mouth stop functioning.' Luna sighed.
"CEO Mu? Do you plan to keep on staring at me a whole day? I have another work to do so I could not entertain you any longer," she spoke strictly but polite.
Micheal apologized but Luna just brushed it off. Still he did not know how to question her properly.
So he settled with, "Don't you remember me?"
Luna sighed again. If they go on with this pace, they will never end this.
"You are CEO Mu Qiu, I just knew you a couple of hours ago. You're my employer." She paused.
Micheal felt dejected.
'She does not remember, no wonder she still calm when she saw me.'
"If you mean you as 'Micheal', then I do remember you," she continued.
"And if you're curious or needed a confirmation, then yes, I'm Wang Hua. But now, I go by Luna Wang."
Then she stood up.
"If that's all, I'll take my leave."
She picked up her backpack and carried her daughter and strode towards the door. Before she could opened the door, she heard Micheal asked, "Are you really married? Where have you been?"
Luna retracted her hand from the doorknob and clenched her fist.
"Yes, I am married." 'Though I don't know for how long.' She continued in her mind.
She turned the knob and walked out without turning back.
Micheal sat dejectedly on the sofa. He put his face in his palms and sighed loudly. They used to be friends but suddenly something happened and they lost contact with each other. Now they met again but they are like a stranger. Luna was so polite when talking to him, not as friendly as before.
Whatever happened in this past seven years had changed her from an energetic and amiable young girl into a cold and strong woman. And she was married too and had birthed a daughter. He did not know how he should inform the others about his reunion.
Meanwhile, Luna drove back home after she passed the altered blue print design of the Mu Corp's new product design and discussed a bit about it with other engineers and technicians. They agreed to meet at another time to further discuss the design because today was a hectic day for everyone.
When she recalled her reunion with Micheal today, she can't helped but sighed loudly. Then she remembered yesterday desserts that she made for the CEO and his friends. Turned out he was the new CEO.
'Then, his friends yesterday...it can't be the other three, right? Then, is he also present yesterday? They're best friends, so...'
"Ahhhh..." she shouted.
Lily who was napping at the back was startled.
"Ah! Did I woke you up? I'm so sorry baby." She apologized.
'What the hell was she doing? Getting worked up for nothing. It's all in the past. So let it stay in the past. Furthermore, she was a married woman and a mother of a lovely girl. It was indecent to think about another man when she was already married to Alex. Right...Alex...'
Luna sighed loudly for the umpteenth time. There were so many things happened, and today reunion added into the pot, and it was just the beginning. She was sure her life won't be as peaceful as it used to be in the past six years.
"Dear God, help me!" She prayed.
