Alex came back home around half past midnight. He stayed at his company the whole day, doing his work absentmindedly all day. He did not received any messages or calls from his wife the whole day as usual.
For as long as he remembered, she always inquired about his day. If she could not call, she would sent him some messages asking how he cope, either he had his lunch or not, to asked him to rest for a while if he was tired or what time will he came back home. Sometimes she would sent him lunch when she knew he did not had any lunch meetings.
But today, not a single call or text came from her. He felt lost. He often checked his phone if there was any text from her. When his phone ringing or beeped, he would rushed to picked up his phone. It's either about work or came from Cindy but none of them came from her. When Cindy called, he ignored it. When she texted, he just reply he was busy. He felt restless but did not dare to call or text her. He did not know what should he say if ever she answered his call.
Now, when he arrived home, he did not know how to confront her. He was hesitant and guilty. Usually Luna would wait for him. Maybe tonight too. He felt expectant.
But when he opened the door, he did not see Luna at the living room as usual. He dejectedly closed the door and placed his coat and bag on the coffee table. When he turned towards the kitchen to fetch some water, he saw his wife sleeping on the dining table.
He ceased his steps before totters in her direction. He stopped beside her and hesitated either to wake her up or not. In the end he just sat at the near seat. He raised his hand to removed her hair in front of her face and tucked the locks behind her ear.
He scrutinized her face and noticed the dried streak of tears on her cheeks.
Suddenly his heart felt heavy. Luna was a strong woman. She seldomly cried and the last time she cried was when her paternal grandmother kicked the bucket when she was twenty-two years old. During her second year in Mu Corp. The next time she cried was after she gave birth to their daughter. But it was a joyful tears.
But tonight, she cried again and he knew it was because of him. He broke his promises. Not just a promise to stay true to her and stay with her forever, but also his promise to never let her cry again after her grandmother died.
"I am very sorry," he softly wiped her cheek and whispered with a pained voice.
He did not know what he apologized for. Either for breaking her heart or for their almost wrecked marriage, he really did not know. Maybe for everything that he had done. Suddenly, a tear dropped from his eye and he quickly stood up and rushed into the bathroom. He was afraid his sobs will woke Luna up.
Unbeknown by Alex, Luna already awake when she felt someone touched her hair. She knew it was him when she smelled his cologne. But she still closed her eyes because she did not want to see his guilty expression. She did not need his pity. After Alex suddenly stood and went away, she opens her eyes and touch her cheek. There's still a lingering warm from his fingers.
'He said he was sorry. He said he was sorry.' She mocked herself.

In another place, Micheal who can't fall asleep, sit in his study room and intently read the tablet in his hand. He still can't believes that Luna Wang was Wang Hua. He had heard a bit story about Luna achievements from his father during his years abroad, but he just dismissed it as unnecessary news.
When he tasted the desserts the other day, he thought of her. They all thought. But when Uncle Liu said it was made by their shareholder, they felt it was pity it's not her.
So when he saw her today..no..yesterday morning during the shareholders' meeting, he was shocked speechless. At that time, he still unsure either she was Wang Hua. After the meeting adjourned, Uncle Liu who was still amused by his reaction when he gaped at Luna before, approached him and whispered, "Luna Wang was the shareholder that I told you about yesterday."
When Uncle Liu saw his confused face, he explained, "The one who baked all the desserts yesterday, that was her, Luna Wang."
He motioned towards Luna who had walked out the door while softly talking to her daughter. He was petrified. Although his subconcious mind already accept Luna Wang was Wang Hua, he still felt it was unbelieveable.
Then, when he joined the board of directors' meeting afterwards in the next meeting room, he was dumbfounded when he found Luna had sat at the back and discussing something with other director. She looked so serious. Sometimes she nodded, sometimes she typing on her laptop and other time she pointed at something on her laptop. Her personality was the opposite of Wang Hua.
He needed a confirmation to clear his doubts. He felt hesitant to questioned her but in the end, Luna just casually said 'I was Wang Hua'.
