My scream echoed to the walls of my room when I opened my two eyes. I was panicking! I touch my body as I try to check myself, my body if I am okay.
"What the hell is that dream!" I said with a hint of disbelief. "T-there w-was two guys! Trying to abduct me! And t-then... I l-lost consciousness!" I said and covered my mouth.
I couldn't believe it!
I gulped when a picture flashed into my mind, it was me sleeping on a bed-chamber, the floor was red, the bed was large and curtains were hanging on either side. It was dark and big. And someone was sitting beside me, I can't see his face but he is looking at me while I sleep.
I felt how my two cheeks became hot and red but it suddenly got blurry and I was stunned as the memory from my dream started running like a picture book in my mind and all I could do is look at the ceiling with still a hint of disbelief.
I can't afford to forget about this! I quickly stood up and tried to open my drawer to get a paper and a pen for me to write it down. I was panicking and trying to do it quickly, once I got the pen and paper I quickly wrote down the scenarios that is running into my mind but then suddenly it stops.
"No, no, no, no," I cried when I tried remembering it but nothing is coming out. "Fuck! What is it!"
I only have written a sentence saying 'Village of the dead' and wrote a scenario where two-man cornered me and tried to take me with them but there is something wrong and lacking on what I wrote! And I couldn't remember it anymore.
After a minute of me trying to remember every detail of my dream and I still couldn't remember it and I eventually gave up because I was tired of squeezing my brain for information and thinking.
"Why do I forget my dreams!" I said in frustration.
I dropped my body on my bed and sighed. It is still the same, how can I afford to forget these peculiar dreams! And I stood up quickly as I lay in bed when an idea popped into my head.
I decided that once I woke up, I would write right away without wasting any time so that I couldn't forget it.
"Yes! Yes!" I shouted in excitement, "every time I wake up, I'll write it quickly before the memory from my dreams vanished! Right!"
This is just a brilliant idea! Why didn't I think about this before!
I put the pen and paper under my pillow so I don't have to take it out of the drawer, just so I can hurry to write it down. When I got over the idea that pop into my head, I got up from my bed and did the things I was supposed to do.
Night came and I fell asleep and had a strange dream. A dream about an owl on a tree and then I woke up. Once I opened my eyes and was awake I quickly wrote it down, It was a strange dream but my previous dreams were much more strange even though I don't remember it so I wondered why I dreamed about an owl.
I hung up the clothes that I washed on a sunny afternoon and still, my step-mom and step-sisters haven't gone home yet. I wipe the beads of sweat forming into my forehead and I plan that once I'm finished hanging up the clothes I'll be having a bath since it's a sunny day.
But even if it's too hot, it's windy. It's because of the trees, the place that I used for hanging up and drying the clothes is somewhat hidden.
That's where I hang the clothes because we believe that if we hang in there the clothes will dry quickly. It is surrounded by many trees but the rays of the sun and the heat are going through the trees.
I finished hanging up the wet clothes so I took my basket and carried it and was about to leave but I heard a sound which made me froze. It was an abrupt striking sound, I swallowed hard and look around.
My heartbeat was getting fast when I recognize what sound I heard, a hooting sound. A sound which owls made!
I turned around and my eyes widened when I saw an owl on a branch of a tree looking at me. I turned around and my eyes widened when I saw an owl on a branch of a tree looking at me. I slowly back down in fear and confusion.
You don't usually see owls in the daytime since they're secretive and silent hunters but seeing an owl is a sign of a bad omen. That's what we believe and I could feel fear surging into my veins since I saw an owl and we believe that it's a messenger of death.
And it represents and accompanies the Goddess Athena, it's the source of her wisdom and judgment. And an owl has such exceptional vision just like the Goddess, it symbolizes the ability of the Goddess Athena to see what others cannot see.
And a myth that Princess Nyctimene fled into the woods after being raped by her father, the King of Lesbos. She felt such deep shame and she became nocturnal and would not show her face in daylight. Moved by her troubles predicament, Goddess Athena transformed her into the owl, which later became her symbol and adopted as proof of allegiance to its patron virgin goddess.
I was a little taken aback when the owl suddenly flew away and disappeared from my sight. "What the hell?" I cursed in skepticism.
I slowly sat down on the grass while stunned, "what did just happen?" I can't believe what just happened.
Night came again, I still couldn't believe that I saw an owl, so many thoughts accumulated into my mind and made me occupied for how many hours but I eventually fell asleep and had a dream about an old woman knocking on my door.
"This is so weird," I said to myself once I woke up and finish writing.
I did my chores but I froze when I heard a knock on my door, I slowly walk towards the door and took a peek at the window to see who is the one knocking on the door.
I covered my mouth in shock when I saw when it was an old lady on the other side.
"This can't be!"
I nervously opened the door and an old woman is now in front of me. "Hello," I nervously greeted her and she smiled at me.
"I am lost, my dear." She smiled.
"Where are you headed too?" I asked.
"A place where paradise lies," she meaningfully told me which made me froze.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked again.
"My dear, you should be careful because once a good dream vanished a nightmare reality will slowly crawl up to you." She said seriously and after she finished what she is saying, she smiled creepily which made the hairs on my body stand.
I opened my mouth and was about to say something when she talked again, "well, I should get going." She chuckled and turn away from me and started walking away.
She was crouching with one hand resting on her back and one of her hands was on the cane that she was holding as she walked away from me.
"Wait!" I called her but she didn't bother to look back at me. "I thought you're lost," I added as I ran to try to catch up with her.
She waved her hand while her back is facing me, "you're the one who is lost, not me." she declared with a tone that is like hinting what she is saying is true.
