I'm Married!

*-*

"The three of us will be sharing a room," she informed Elize as they walked on the hallway going to their floor.

She requested to move her room to a floor above the other girls. The hotel can only provide a presidential suite rather than the two standard rooms that she originally requested. Thus, she, Kristina, and Elize would be sharing a room.

"I want a separate room. Don't act like you need Mrs. Tan's money for your hotel accommodation." she sneered at her.

Elize cocked her head in her direction, and stepped in front of her, stopping her in her tracks.

"What's with that reaction?" she asked, folding her arms over her chest.

"What reaction?" she averted her eyes.

"Laurie, you might think that I don't know you, just because you don't consider me one of your close friends, but you should not forget that I knew you when you were at your lowest point." she clicked her tongue at her. "I've seen that look before. Now, spit it!"

She exaggeratedly sighed and rolled her eyes at Elize. "It's something that is called none of your business," she shoved her out of the way and continued walking.

Even though her head was held high, her knees buckled. She will never let Elize know about her predicament concerning money. Over her dead body!

She saw her with no cash, no home, nothing! Because the first time she met Elize was on a boat going to Cebu when she ran away from home, from one of her usual fights with her father.

She was ten. She was so spoiled rotten that she thought her father would run after her if she left home. But she was wrong. Her father let her be. She didn't come home until her eighteen birthday and a year after her father died.

When she was ready to apologize and make amends. Her father died and she was left behind with no opportunity to say sorry.

She blinked her eyes when she felt the familiar stinging of her eyes.

She heaved a deep sigh, entering the presidential suite with a door wide open because the bellhop was already inside the room with their luggage.

"Is it true that Elize will be sharing a room with us?" Kristina as the moment she stepped inside the room.

She was already holding a glass of champagne in her well-manicured hands.

"It's not like I wanted to share a room with you," Elize sneered as she entered the room.

Laurie just shook her with the exchange of words between Elize and Kristina. 'It's going to be an epic bachelorette party,' she said mockingly in her head, as she handed the bellhop a tip.

"So, what's on our itinerary?" she asked, sipping her champagne.

"Leave me out of your schedule. I have no plan to play around with those other women," she threw herself on the bed.

"As much as I don't like you, I would agree with you this time." she faced Laurie, and said, "I don't think I have the energy to act chummy with those bitches a floor below us."

"It is my bachelorette party! How can it be a party if we would skip the party?"

"It's not my problem.". I'm not the one who invited those bitches." Elize replied. Once again, her nose is in her book.

Laurie looked at Kristina with a slumped shoulder. She knew Elize. Once she said no, it would stay as a no.

"I suppose I could do it. Just make sure those girls don't rain on my parade. Especially Pomela. I had never liked her."

"Thank you. I have a party organizer and she would be the one who would handle the schedule. I already told her that the girls can do whatever they want, and the shopping spree that was part of this party does not necessarily have to be done in a group."

"Oh, that's nice! I don't want to go shopping with Pomela. She will just get the same thing I will have." Kristina exclaimed.

"Is that girl truly like that?" Elize who was supposed to be engrossed with her reading is now leaning on the headboard of her bed, waiting for Kristina to spill the tea about Pomela.

"You wouldn't believe the audacity of that girl." she slumped down next to Elize.

Laurie rolled her eyes in disbelief. The two were just fighting like cats a while ago, now they are acting like they are close friends just because of some gossip!

Indeed gossip can create instantaneous loyalty between girls as if it were magic.

She pulled a chair next to Elize's bed. She had heard the story so many times from Kristina but it's always fun to listen to her story. She could tell the same story in so many ways you would assume it was a new story.

She just sat down on the armchair ready to listen to Kristina's tale of Pomela and how she is the most hated girl in their class when her phone rang.

She rolled her eyes at how bad the timing of the caller was. She was thinking of ignoring it but Kristina and Elize threw her an annoyed look.

She clicked her tongue at the two and checked her phone for the caller. She was surprised to see Andrei. She quickly excused herself and said, "Go on with your story. My fiance is calling me," she grinned, winking at Kristina who pretended to gag.

She answered Andrei's call and stepped out of the balcony for some privacy.

"Laurie, are you in Hong Kong?" he asked without preamble. Not even a hello.

"Where the fuck are you? Did you even read my messages to you?" she snapped at him.

"I'm sorry, Laurie but it would be best if you go home now…I mean, forget the bachelorette party."

She heard him talking in a whisper to someone at the other line.

"Laurie, we got a private plane waiting for you and your friends at a friend's private airstrip — please go home."

"What the fuck?" I yelled. "Who is this we and why would I go home right now?"

"L- Laurie — I'm truly sorry… but I - I married Eric."
