Chapter 17: The new kid

We went to the breakfast room and went in the breakfast line. As I was getting in line, I saw Zoro. I wanted to go say hi but then I would loose my place in line. We finally got our food and headed to our table.

"Can you guys hold on a second? I saw Zoro. I need to talk to him about something." "Yeah sure." Said Koa.

I walked over to Zoro and touched his shoulder. Zoro looked up and said, "Oh hi Raven how you feeling?" "I'm fine. Are you heading to the dojo after this? I need to talk to you before training starts." "Yeah I'll come to you after I eat." "OK thanks." So I went back to my friends and family.

"It sucks you guys have to leave in 2 days." "Yeah well I have to get back home and work." Said Jason. "Yeah and when I get back I have to help out the blue phoenix clan with something." Said Koa. "Oh yeah. How are everyone doing since I don't remember much." "Well they are getting better. Not giving me such a hard time like they used to." "That's good." We finished eating our food, and Zoro tapped me on the shoulder. "Oh hey Zoro. I'll meet you guys at the dojo ok? You remember where it is Jason and Koa?" "Yeah we do we are good." Said Jason. "Ok cool see you there." So I followed Zoro.

"So Zoro. I wanted to tell you I'm fine. Maybe not mentally but physically fine. I should be able to train today. Mind if I train again with you?" "Yeah that's fine. I checked my swords for poison this time you should be fine." "OK cool." "Wait a second Raven." "Yeah zoro?" "You sure your up for it? You look pretty tired." "I'm fine Zoro. Trust me." "Ok then everyone should be waiting for roll call." So I went for roll call. After roll call, we headed to the field.

"Ok everyone. Today you can all spar with your partners. Raven and I will spar and Nikita and her brother can sparr with each other. If you two Koa and Jason want to spar go right ahead. OK everyone have fun." Then Zoro and I started sparring.

We were actually having a better time than last time sparring. Only because he checked his swords for poison. "Ha ha ha." I was getting tired quicker than I used to which was weird. I made sure Zoro didn't notice. So we kept training. After awhile it was time to rest. I fell of the ground and put my hands out panting hard. "Haa Haa haa" "You ok Raven? You look more tired than you usually do." "Yeah. I'm fine." Zoro touched my head to be sure. "Well you might has a slight fever, but I think you will be fine." After we were done resting, we did a few more rounds and we were done.

"Raven come here please." "Yes sir." "What's up Zoro?" "You did well today for looking so tired. I noticed the second round you were tiring yourself out without telling me." "Yeah sorry. I didn't want to stop. I need to push myself to protect the ones I love." "Yeah that's what I thought too. Look where it got me no family left. The man I call my brother isn't actually my brother. He is a friend close to it." "Oh sorry." "Its fine. It happened when I was younger." "Ok go hang out with you family." "Thanks Zoro see you." "Yeah." "Ok guys lets go to boring textbook class."

We went to class and I sat next to Nikita like I always do. The guests stayed in another room. Looks like we had a new student today. "Hello class. Today we have a new student." "Hello my name is Rayden Tyler." The boy looked familiar. I don't know where I would have seen him. He ended up sitting next to me. "Hey Rayden I'm Raven come sit with us at lunch I have something to ask you." He nodded. Then we went back to our work.

"OK Class its time to show off how well we can control ourselves." After everyone was up, it was finally Zayden's turn. I watched him closely to see if I can remember him. He turned dragon which was black and green and they did the crazy stuff to test. He did pretty good for his first time. Then class was finally over and I went over to him.

"You did a pretty good job Rayden." "Thanks. Why didn't you go?" "Oh I take private lessons the reason I am here is because I attacked a couple people." "Oh that makes sense." "Ok well its lunchtime lets go to the lunch room." So we went to the lunch line.

Once we got to the table, the first thing I say is, "So Rayden have we met somewhere before? You look familiar. I sort of came back after a mission and lost my memory. If I forgot you I'm sorry. I just have a feeling I know you from somewhere." "Not that I know of. You might know my grandpa the elder." "Wait the elder is your grandpa? Wow I didn't know that." "Yeah well I don't just go around telling people that. I just have a feeling I can trust you guys." "So how did you control yourself so well?" said Nikita. "Oh well my mother is also a dragon. She helped me out. We trained outside almost everyday since I turned. I turned when I was 10 years old." "Hey me too." Said Nikita. "Yeah that's right." Said Dimitri. "Oh sorry I'm Dimitri Nikita's brother. Its visitation week." Then I introduced Jason and Koa. "Nice to meet you all." "So where are you from?" "Oh I live on the island I just live like 3 hours from here." "If you don't mind me asking, if you are so good at controlling yourself, why are you here?" "Oh I was told by someone I had to be here I don't know the reason." "Well that sucks." "Hey Rayden I have my private class after this then its free time. Can I talk to you privately after this?" "I guess so." He looked confused. So we ate our lunch.

After my class which I was getting better in and getting comfortable so show off I went out and waited for Rayden in our meeting place. "Sorry I'm late. Ok so what do you want to talk about?" "Not here follow me." "We went to the other field where no one goes. "Ok here is good." "No I know I know you. Who are you really? Why are you here?" "Ow easy there." "So you do remember me huh?" "Well I had a feeling I know you from somewhere. Well I did tell you my real name. Do you remember where you met me?" "Sort of. I remember a castle the same one in my dream or memory and I saw you. I just didn't know everyone's name. I didn't even know there were other dragons in the castle." "Yeah well there are more than you know." "What house are you in?" "I'm not in a house yet. I know you are in the blue phoenix house. I could tell by the tatoo." "Oh yeah that." "So you are the princess huh? I was told by the people who sent me. I guess I can tell you the reason. People are worried about you. I was sent to make sure you don't get into any trouble." "So you are spying on me huh?" "Well we will go with that." "OK well I see the way you look Nikita. I know you have a crush on her. Trust me her past isn't easy to hear she won't just get along with anyone. She pushed out all the other girls who roomed with her. I was lucky she got along with me." "Oh I like her already." "I'm just saying be careful. Especially when her brother is here. Now that I know you are here, should I talk to you a stranger? Or should I talk to you like I know you?" "Any way you want I don't care." "Ok cool. It will be easier to talk like I know you." "That's fine with me. Just don't bring up why I am here." "I won't I promise." So I walked back to my dorm and he went wherever.

"Sorry about that guys. I know I have to leave you quite a bit when I am supposed to be visiting." "Its fine Raven we know you are busy here." Said Jason. "Oh Jason I need to talk to you alone." "OK sis." We went outside and I whispered in his ear. "You know Rayden? He was send to watch me and make sure I don't get into trouble." "Yeah of course I know him. I was shocked to see they sent him. I think Koa knows him as well. The King your biological father sent him." "He did? Why am I not surprised. Why couldn't they send someone in the Raven or Blue phenoix clan?" "I asked the same thing. At the time everyone was busy. Plus not a lot of them are dragons." "Wait are you telling me that some Raven clan and Blue phoenix clan have dragons? Who?" "I will tell you later." "Ok then." So we went back in the dorm.

Two days later it was noon and time for everyone to leave. "I'm going to miss you both." I gave them a good squeeze. "We will miss you to Raven." Said Koa. "Tell Akela and the others I say hey Oh and the people in the Blue phoenix clan as well." "Yeah I will." "Jason good luck at work. Tell everyone at home I say hi." "I will." They hopped on a dragon and I watched them fly off until they were out of site. I stood there for a minute then turned dragon and flew off to the woods. "Aw crap. I figured this would happen." Said Rayden. He flew after her.

"Yo Raven! Slow down!" "NO! I want to be alone!" "NO one wants to be alone a tine like this. They actually need someone. Trust me I know." I slowed down and landed on the ground. I stayed in my dragon form. "You have got to be kidding me. You really are the princess huh? You are red and blue dragon. Anyway this must be your first visitation. First time can be hard not knowing when you will see them again. I had to deal with that sort of stuff when mom and dad divorced. Now I have a stepdad who isn't so bad but I miss my dad." "Yeah but they weren't my parents they were my brother and boyfriend." "I know. You have been with your brother since you were born right?" "Yeah I was. Its hard to leave the ones I love. I wish there was another way." "There might be Raven." "What are you talking about?" "Well depending on how well your dragon form is, I might be able to take you back home. I will be able to train you." "Why couldn't you have before I was sent here if that was possible." "You were too violent. Plus you need to start figuring out your powers soon. Come on. We have to go back." "Yeah I know I just….I can't right now. Its free time until night anyway." "OK we can sit here as long as you want until then." "Thanks Rayden." "Yeah." I sat with him in my dragon form for a bit. Rayden was petting my dragon form and it felt nice. "Did your mom do this to comfort you in your dragon form?" "Yeah she does it got bad when dad had to leave after the divorce." I took a deep breath and turned human. I gave Rayden a hug and he was shocked at first but hugged me back. "I'm sorry for running off like that." "Its fine. Just don't scare me like that again ok? If you need to talk about something I don't care how late just come and get me ok? You know where my dorm is." "Thanks Rayden. You are like a good big brother."

Raven fell asleep on Rayden and it was getting late. "Hey Raven its getting late we should head back. Raven?" "Zzzz" "Oh your asleep. I'll take you back." Rayden carried Raven on his back as he was flying. He turned human and knocked on the doom room door. (knock Knock) Nikita opened the door and said, "Oh Rayden what's up?" "I have Raven here. She's fine she just fell asleep." "Ok come in." He went in and put her to bed and tucked her in. "I'm sure you know her don't you?" "Yeah I guess you can say we are old friends. Watch over her while she is here, please. She needs friends." "Yes Rayden I will." "Thanks Nikita." Then he left for his dorm.
