Chapter 23: Old friend/Raven's change

"So Kane. Is this where you live? Or did you run away from home. Jason told me some of the crazy stuff you did back then." "Haha. Yeah well those were the days. I actually live in the forest. My parents and little brother were killed. My mothers last words were don't get revenge. Don't kill them. I love you Kane." Then she died right there. She was the only one still alive that day until she closed her eyes." "Did you kill them anyway?" "From what Jason told you about me what do you think?" "I think you did go kill them after all. I picture you looking up to the sky and saying sorry mom I can't listen to your dying wish. I have to do this." "Yes that is sort of what I did. I did look up to the Sky but I said, Sorry mom this is the last time I will have to not listen. I knew exactly who they were so I killed all 4 of them. Not just them, their family too. Luckily no one had any kids. I don't know if I could kill a kid." "Oh Kane. I'm so sorry." "Its ok. It happened the day you left on the ship." "Kane? I know you might not want to, but would you like to see the king? You know he is my biological father right?" "Yeah I figured as much. You look a lot like him." "Well at least I have dad, Jason, and my other two siblings." "Yeah I heard about them too. I don't know. I will think about it. If I decided too, you will know. Trust me." "Well I hope you do. I better be heading back. Please don't poison any more forest ok?" "Yeah Raven. Don't worry you might see me instead of me poisoning forests." "Hehe. Ok then." "Hey Raven? Would you like me to fly you back over to the shack?" "Um sure. For old times sake." So he turned dragon and I hopped on his back. It wasn't a long ride, but it was fun.

Kane turned human when I hopped off. "Are you going to stay with Frost?" "I don't know. Maybe." We both walked inside, Faye and Rayden gave me a hug. "Easy guys. I can't breathe." "Sorry Raven." Said Rayden. "How are you feeling?" "I'm fine really. Everyone this is Kane. He was an old friend of me and Jasons. 15 years ago." "Nice to meet you man. I take it you were the poison dragon?" said Rayden. "Yeah sorry about that." He said while scratching his head embarrassed. "Well you cleared it so nothing to worry about now." Said Faye. "Thanks everyone." "Well its still dark out. Its actually midnight. Do you 3 want to stay here for the night?" Said Frost. "Yeah might as well." I said. So we all laid down in his shack just big enough of all of us.

Kane watched Raven as she slept. "I'm glad your alive Raven. I've really missed you. There would be nothing I wouldn't do for you. You were like a little sister to me." He leaned down and kissed Raven on the head and laid down and when to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up and saw Kane in my face. It startled me at first. Then I stood up and stretched. "Ah. Its nice to be able to move again." I said. Then Rayden said, "Its good to see you up and about." "Yeah thanks for carrying me here Rayden. I must have been heavy." "Oh you weren't heavy your fine." "Thanks." Then I went outside to get some fresh air.

"Ah the air is so nice out here now that I can breathe in it." "It sure is isn't it?" "Oh hey Faye." "Hey Raven." "Now that I can see the forest, I feel like I have played here before. Not since I came here when I Was 3, but before that." "Raven do you remember where you were told you were born?" "Jason told me I was born in the castle." "Well he wanted to spare your feelings. The shack we were just in is where you were born. Frost's father was the one who helped your mother deliver you." "Oh is that so?" "No wonder I love the forest. Mom and dad must have been here on a walk and happened to pass by this shack when it was time." "Yes. I am guessing they did." "Did you ever meet my mother?" "Yes when I was 6 years old. She was pregnant with you." "Oh were you a magician then or in training?" "I was in training still." Then Rayden came out and said, "We better get going guys. I'm sure people are starting to worry." "Can you wait a few minutes? I need to talk to frost." "Yeah sure."

"Hello Frost." "Oh Raven. How can I help you?" "Is it true that your father delivered me in this shack?" "Yes it is. Faye told you I assume?" "yes she did. How is your father by the way?" "Oh he is alive and well. He is actually one of the doctors in the castle." "Oh OK. I will call for him and thank him personally. It was nice seeing you again Frost." "Yeah you too Raven." "You too Kane." I gave him a big hug like I had known him for years. I was in tears when I let go. "I hope you decide to come to the castle and live here." "Oh Raven. How can I refuse with a face like that." "Well I guess so. I can't just leave you here with just Rayden guarding you." "Hey I'm not that bad." "haha. Actually you could use some work." I joked. Then we all laughed. "Ok I guess I'm headed to the castle Frost. Don't worry I'll come and hang when I'm not hanging out with everyone." "Ok be careful all of you." "Thank you Frost. For everything." Said Kane. "No problem kid. You remind me of my long lost son." Then we all headed back to the castle.

We decided to walk instead of fly. It was nice now that there was no poison to deal with. Halfway there I had a chill. "Hey Raven you ok?" Said Kane worriedly. "Huh? Oh I'm fine. Just had a chill." He put a blanket on me to warm me up. "Hehe Thanks Kane. I wasn't cold. I will take it though." "Oh ok." So we walked the rest of the way there.

"Hello father. Sorry to worry you. Look who I brought?" "Raven! Thank god your ok! We looked everywhere for you." "Sorry father." "Hello Kane. Good to see you again." "Like wise your majesty." He bowed. "Oh no need to be formal with me boy. I heard about your family. I'm so sorry." "Its fine and thanks." "Father he wants to live at the palace. Is there a way he can live here?" "Yes I will have one of the man servants get him a room." "Thank you sir." "Hey were friends don't worry about it." The king was off to call off the search for me.

"Ok well I better go to my clan now. I haven't been there in awhile. Oh and I need to see Koa as well. I hope he's there today." "Ok Raven see you in a bit." "Yeah thanks Kane." I rushed out to the Blue Phoenix clan. I walked into the house and saw Ruka and Indigo. "Raven! The king told us you were found. Are you ok?" "I'm fine you two." "You might want to see Koa. He is here too." "Oh he is? I better go say hi? Oh do you know where he is? Oh he is on break right now, he's probably doing what he always has since you were missing." "I think I know. Thanks guys." I ran over to the place we saw the sunset.

I saw Koa's back and snuck up on him. I covered his eyes saying "Guess who?" "Raven?! Is that really you?" "Oh man. You know me too well." I pouted jokingly. "Haha I do. I'm glad your ok." He hugged me tightly then gave me a kiss on the lips. "Koa I'm really fine ok?" "I missed you too." Then I kissed him again. "Oh I have someone you should meet. Yes he is a guy. Before that though I need to say hi to Lani and Nani. I haven't seen them in awhile. Then I need to say hi to Akela and the others as well." "Ok Raven. Just don't go overboard ok?" "Hehe I will try not to. Lets go." So I dragged him to Nani and Lani's dorm.

(Knock knock) "Lani and Nani! Its me Raven!" "Raven!" Lani opened the door and grabbed me to give me a hug. "Ow your too rough Lani." "Oh sorry." "Hey Raven. Good to see you alive." Said Nani. "Yeah sorry to scare you." Then I remembered something. "Oh shoot! Zoro and Nikita are still here! Sorry guys I gotta go. I'll come visit soon."

We rushed to the palace and saw Zoro and Nikita looking worried. "Raven are you ok?" "Yeah sorry. Nikita. Sorry to you too Zoro." "Its fine as long as you are ok." "Yeah Im fine." "Oh I want you two to meet someone. Let me go see where he is. Follow me everyone." So all 3 of us went to see if we can fine Kane. "Oh Melody. Its good to see you too. Do you know where Kane is?" "Yes he is in his room. Would you like me to show you?" "Yes please." So we followed her to Kane's room.

"Ok here it is." "Thanks Melody." "Your welcome princess." So she left us alone and I knocked. (Knock Knock.) "Who is it?" "Its me. Raven." "Oh Raven. Come on in." Me and the others went in and Kane saw them. "Kane. This is Zoro and Nikita. This is my boyfriend Koa." "Hey nice to meet you all. I'm an old friend of Raven's I've known her since she was 3 or younger. I am actually Jason's age. I know I am tall for my age. I get that a lot. As she said, my name is Kane." "Oh Jason is here too. Do you want to see him?" "Yeah I'll see him after lunch sometime." "Oh ok. Well I just thought I'd introduce you to my new friends. I'll leave you alone." "Actually can I talk to you alone?" "Yeah I guess so." "Ok we'll wait for you out there." Said Koa. "Thanks Koa." "So what did you want to talk to me about?" "How are you feeling?" "Me oh I'm fine. I feel lost better since you cleared up the forest. I hope I got my strength back anyway. I hope it shows in training." I looked at the time and said "Oh Crap! I'm late for training!" "Woah Raven. Breathe." I took a deep breath. "thanks want to watch me?" "Yeah sure." "Good. Lets go." "Hey guys I'm headed to training I'm late come watch." So we ran to my training.

"Sorry I'm late Master. I lost track of time talking." "Its fine. Its rare that your late." "They are here to watch." "Ok why don't all of you sit on the bleachers." So they listened to the master.

"Ok we will do sword practice for an hour. Then we will do the other training." "Yes sir." So I got out my sword I usually always have on me, then we started training.

Zoro was keeping an eye on her to see how she moves with her master. Nikita was too out of it thinking of Rayden.

In the middle of training, something was going on with me. I tried to shake it off and continue. Then it happened again. Just as the master scratched me in the face with a sword, I fell to my knees. Zoro saw what was going on and rushed over. Then Kane and Nikita did too.

"Raven you ok?" said Master. "Shit she's burning up!" The master called Tsunaka and told him what was going on. Then he hung up. "Ok I'm going to take her to the experiment room! You guys can join if you want." So they all rushed to the area.

"Tsunaka! Here is Raven." Tsunaka ran over to check Raven Over. "She has a fever! This isn't good. Raven can you hear me? Its Tsunaka." "Hmm. Argh. I don't feel so good. Cough Cough!" "What hurts Raven? We need to know." "My-my whole body hurts. Its weird when we were training I was fine. Then halfway through I felt dizzy. Is it a dragon thing? I don't know." Then her body was starting to change into her dragon form. First her feet. Then Legs. Then everything else followed. "Ok everyone out right now. I don't want any of you getting hurt." They all left and watched through the window. Tsunaka waited to see what she would do when she turned fully.

She lazily opened her eyes. "What? What happened to me? Did I turn unconsciously?" She started to freak out and was slashing everything.

Luckily the doctor and scientist came in just in time to see what was going on. "Shit! Doctor get the metal restraints now!" "Yes sir." He ran to get the restraints and they put them on Raven.

Jason must have got the call, because he and their siblings came down. Ace and Alora as well. "What's going on with our little sister?" said Jason. Then Kane explained the situation. "I see. I hope she is going to be ok. Good to see you again Kane." "Yeah likewise." They were more worried about Raven than catching up at the moment.

After Raven was restrained she was still fighting in fear. She was completely blue. The doctor gave her a shot to get her to sleep. "What happened Hawk? Why did Raven turn when she did?" Jason Hawk was the scientist. "While she is asleep I have to examine her." He went over cautiously, then he touched her scales. "There,there, you will be ok Raven." Said Jason hawk. He used his power to look inside of her. "Ah I see now. OK I have an idea why she turned now. Just before she turned she felt weak right? She also had a fever?" "Yes that's right." Said Tsunaka. "Is this the first time it happened anywhere?" "Yes as far as we know. Apparently it happened halfway through sword training." "Hmm. I see. Sword training huh? Its weird I have never heard of Raven being afraid of training before. She was always excited to do it. It calmed her down." Zoro knocked on the door. Jason answered it. "Hello Zoro. What can we do for you?" "I don't think its training that caused her to act this way. I may know what's causing it." "Come inside and tell us." He followed them in and explained. "I have experienced this myself as well at her age. I may have turned at 10 years old, but at 18 I had the same issue. I thought the same thing as you did. Maybe there was something in training I was afraid of? Then I realized it was a whole different issue altogether." "What is the issue?" "I don't know hers, but I was watching her closely I was her training instructor back on the island. I can tell when something is wrong with her. My issue was not wanting to hurt anyone else than I already have. I don't know if that is what she was thinking, but that was my issue." "Did you turn back to human?" "Yeah when I woke up from my dragon form, I was human. I explained what I was feeling." "I see. Well I hope it all goes well with her. Thank you Zoro." "Yeah no problem." He walked back out to let them deal with Raven. Zoro said, "well I'm going to find the trainer master Zeno. I need to break off some steam or I will lose it." "Oh Zeno should be in his room right now. I will take you there." Said Ace. "Thank you." The others walked out too except for Jason.

They got to Zeno's room door and Ace knocked. (Knock Knock) "Who is it?" "Its Ace. I need a favor." "Come on in then." Zoro and Ace went in, and Zeno said, "You must be Zoro. Nice to meet another training teacher. You look pretty young." "Yeah well I am almost 30. Sir I have a favor. Will you want to spar a little with me? I need to blow off some steam or I will lose it seeing Raven in that condition." "Haha I know what you mean. Yeah of course. I had to do that after I dropped her off." So they walked down to the training grounds to train.

"Hmm. Ha…Ha…" Raven was waking up. "What? Why am I restrained? Hmm?" I saw the guys from before surrounding me. "Can you guys tell me what happened?" "Are you sure your ok now?" Said Jason. "Yeah I feel fine now. The only thing I remember is not feeling well halfway through the training." Then he explained the situation. "I see so Zoro told you that huh? Yeah It was the same for me. I was afraid of hurting my trainer which is weird I never worried about it before."
