A group of Spec Ops operators are saved from the jaws of death by the intervention of the Supreme Law of Time. After waking from a coma, the team's leader finds himself bound to an alien symbiote. And thanks to the symbiote, the team is thrust into the hidden world of Will awakeners; individuals who use their Will to harness superhuman abilities. 
As if that wasn't bad enough, the team accidentally uncover a conspiracy by a powerful shadow organisation which then puts them in the central position in the fight against the organisation and their nefarious plans for the world.
Thus, begins the journey of the Soldiers chosen by Time!

CH1133: Spirit Suppressing Acoustic Device

In the back line of the invading forces, a group formed around the Mercenary King, Sir Quartermain and Aaron Luther, the Commander of the invading forces, observed the ensuing battles.

The people in this group, aside Aaron, were Will Awakeners. Although they weren't able to see the Spirits used by the Shamans, they were able to sense them.

In a sense, Spirits weren't that difficult to sense. It was just that it needed a level of sensitivity that was just a bit over that which was available to ordinary humans.

Horus Marine Corps' Frogmen, who were only genetically optimized and\or enhanced individuals, were able to sense the Spirits with their marginally improved senses.

Will Awakeners who were certified superhumans likewise had no problems sensing the positions of Spirits.
