Chapter 4: Set Troubles 2

CASSANDRA for all she was in her previous life was a leader and an executor. Although she was often not seen as pleasing to the general public due to her curse, she was a woman who commanded her own force to protect those she cherished. In the dark, she took care of the dirty matters until her siblings were old enough to bear them.

And when she came to the manor of her prince, she continued this line of work to make sure her master will have a safe place to return to. She is never killed, but she uses ways to induce social death to those who target her and her people. Digging all sorts of secrets, publishing them to the public or at times directly reporting them to relevant departments if they are bad enough. Therefore her first thought was to collect evidence as she should.

Speaking of which, FC Entertainment is a well-known company that abides by the law and keeps their own affairs to themselves. Things like CCTV were generally not given to outsiders unless there was a warrant or official letter from relevant departments of law for them to do so. It was said that even their own higher managers cannot change or willingly do something about their files. The current chairman has personally created the system and is regularly strengthening it to not allow anyone to sully their good-reputation.

But that said, people can see the footage as long as they need to. The bottomline was that they are not allowed to take a copy of it. The whole process was even documented and recorded by various technological devices and with formal registers. So if one was planning to do evil, the company has some ways to defend themselves should something really happen.

Finding a security guard and asking where the control room was, she headed to the area to inquire for the CCTV footage of what happened to the hall area of the left wing. Which was easily granted as this is one of the most common requests. Apparently to the talkative person-in-charge there, there is almost a person who comes over to see some footage due to the dramas happening all over the building. Remarking that he does not need to see a TV series to see drama as there are already plenty to see in the control room.

Cassandra found it easy to interact with the man. It helps that the man does not need to be entertained much as he can chatter whatever comes to his mind. Somehow she finds it a waste that this person is not involved in show business with how much gossip he had with so many artists.

"Here's the footage that you are asking for." The man said as he motioned Cassandra to move to the monitor that shows the hallway. "Youngsters nowadays sure do like their power plays. I saw this kind of scene so many times that I can see the calculation of this little starlet to the other. If this building does not belong to FC Entertainment, perhaps this footage will disappear like a blur the moment they go to their gold masters."

Humming in agreement, Cassandra's eyes were focused on the footage to confirm that Alexia did not do any foul move. And her friend really did not do anything and was trying her best to get away. But the other was clearly antagonistic towards Alexia, forcefully making Alexia stay despite saying she was in a hurry.

The whole thing was gone in the way she imagined the whole scene. There are little to no flaws on Alexia should the other release a self-proclaimed injustice later. On the contrary, she saw someone filming the whole thing in the corner of the footage, another piece of evidence to clear Alexia's name should something really happen.

"Girl, did I tell you you look familiar?" The man suddenly said as he had a thoughtful look on his face. "It was like someone was here to see footage that had you in it a while ago."

"Did you get the name of who it was, sir?" Cassandra asked with curiosity and suspicion. Who would even investigate her? As far as she knew she did nothing to call for such attention.

The man only shook his head and said he had no idea who it was. Though he said that the other was familiar to him for some reason, he just cannot remember who it was.

As there was nothing to be gained from it, Cassandra only hummed and left the room after she saw what she wanted to see. As for who the other was, she doesn't care about it at the moment. Whoever it was will show himself to her when the time comes. She strongly believed in that and she let things run on their course.

Returning to the set, Cassandra did what she told Alexia she would. She just sat there in the area where agents and assistants were to stay. At some point she ordered some milk tea and treats for the crew to snack on, all at the expense of Alexia's wallet.

Due to her actions, the crew definitely have a good attitude with her and with Alexia. They even thought she was Alexia's assistant with how adept she was in handling good relationships for her artist. Much to the jealousy with some starting artists on the side.

Maybe due to how dazzling Cassandra was behind the scenes, the director thought it would be a good addition to the script if some questions were asked by the host prior to the start of the next missions. His words were intended to make the show relax before each participant gets competitive and so 'image breaking'.

The show "Unceasing Summons" was a challenge theme variety show that aimed to break the images of their guests. It can be said to be a popular and not too popular show at the moment. It has decent ratings and viewership, but the one that is not seen too favorably by the circle.

As for why it has this complicated standing, it lies before some past guests on the show. When the crew was still new and was made up with a group of newcomers in the industry. Full of promise and still so pure in the muddy field they are involved in, they pout their all to the creation of this show.

In the beginning of the show they specially invited some big stars for publicity. The crew paid a great price to let their show be known to invite the said stars and has even been accommodating enough to them. Each staff pulling every string they can and all.

But luck was that the stars they invited were not those with great tempers and were looking down on their crew for being newcomers. It does not help that most of them are not really the most promising newcomers and none of them are from great families. Thus they are really a humble crew who dares bet everything to make their own show.

One of the stars has a backer who was also an investor of the show. Thus making this person more arrogant and tyrannical than those arrogant stars. The whole crew does not like them, but was skillful in acting like they do. Making the other misunderstand that they are obedient and spineless in the face of their backers.

With various qualifications and backings, the stars made a mess on the theme of the show and tried to make it some sort of a personal show. Angry at the audricity of the stars, the PD has to make some compromise to keep their end of the contract.They can't afford the investor withdrawing if they violate the contracts they signed at the moment. But this has blackened the whole crew so much that the initial plan to show the unexpected side of the stars they host, became a real 'image breaker' show. Setting rideculous challenges to every stars who come unto their show and effectively making them a fool to the public.

The stars really thought that they were afraid to make them leave and desert the show. They were like demons who had made the crew angry enough to plan how to murder them behind the scences. Unaware of what was on the minds of the crew, the stars just continue to make trouble thinking that their inaction is a sign that the director is doing what they wanted.

Not able to take it longer, the director especially made a separate editing of the footage. One to show these stars and the other to show the public. Although they made a mess on the theme of the show, the director was clever enough to still place tasks on the show through various subtle actions. It was a cheating method he employed, but satisfied all legal requirements on the contract should they sue them for not doing their part.

Thankfully they are wise enough to have a clause in the show that even if the investors will push some of their own inside the show, the crew has complete control of the final product they will deliver. Should the investor get angry at them due to their people whispering bad things about them, they will use this part of their contract to neutralize them if they sue them in court.

When the first episode came out, there was a huge uproar. The artists were so angry at the episode that they discredited the whole show using their individual connections. The investors behind that one star were livid at the final episodes that they demanded to make a new one.

After enduring their tempers for so long the crew vented all their emotions when all of these came swarming at them. They received a bad reputation in their circle and investors were scared away due to what that particular investor has spread about them. Thankfully the public responded well to them therefore making enough money to keep them afloat and continue filming their thing for five years now. Though they seldomly have a sponsor and investor nowadays, they are doing quite well.
