Chapter 56: The orb

Reigan looked at the sucker behind them and glimpsed at the helpless Roland, who was still struggling against the current.

Reigan gritted his teeth and asked. "Do you have a rope?!"

Roland peered back at Reigan, he didn't know why would Reigan find rope at this moment. It never occurs to him that Reigan could do something for them.

Nevertheless, he still answered. "In my bag packet."

Reigan tried to reach the bag and took the black rope in it. After that, he grabs the knife that was in it.

He binds Lilia properly on Roland while holding on tight. "Roland, can you still do the manipulating of the wind just like a moment ago?!"

Roland was taken aback, wondering how Reigan knew that it was wind manipulation, but then he thought that maybe Reigan was also a wind power user.

But that was not the reason why, rather, Reigan heard him when he was whispering in the air and heard him say wind manipulation, giving Reigan the conclusion that Roland used wind manipulation.

"I could still, but I could only do it once"

"That is fine. I will throw this knife, assist it with all your wind elements. Just make sure it will be entangled on that rock!" Reigan pointed to the big rock on the other side of the bridge.

Roland hesitated.

"Even if you couldn't, you need to make sure you can! Once the knife was in front of you, do what you did with that Leopard to that knife, and entangle it with the rock. After you are there, run as far as you can, don't talk, and don't look back!"

"What?!"

Reigan without a second thought threw the knife, and Roland, although feeling skeptical, did what Reigan said.

He didn't expect in doing so, indeed pulled them toward the rock formation, giving him hope.

He ran as fast as he could, they are now safe.

He and the female were safe.

He ran as fast as he could, not looking behind.

Roland would never expect that Reigan would let himself be left behind, facing the big ball of elements.

He had once read about what Norman was. If it was true that his HP turned to 1, he would trigger bloodlust, then he would try it.

Although he was not certain in doing so would it be really possible to stop this thing, he still wished to try.

Reigan was pulled in the sphere while protecting his head.

As his body pulled him, he felt that his skin was being torn apart, and a lot of cuts were on his body, and his blood felt like being sucked in by the wind whirl.

He was lucky that he was wearing the armor, being able to protect his vital organ but not his movement of it.

Because as the armor was pulled, he was also pulled along.

The wind pressure took the normal intake of air from Reigan while it was cutting his skin, and pulled him deeper inside.

The air was taken away from him, hurting his lungs, suffocating him deeper inside.

When his body was absorbed toward the water surface, the liquid made his body feel so heavy, and painful.

He wanted to shout, but control himself because he knew doing so would make him intake the water.

The water had twirled and pulled him apart.

Along with his HP going lower and lower.

His consciousness almost slipped; only the logical thinking of stopping it by using bloodlust kept him awake.

The next thing was the wood. The thing was that the wood was in a weird shape and Reigan noticed that the wood was pointed, that could stab a person and locked him in the wood with the water inside of it.

Reigan didn't know if the decision he made was right or wrong, if he was enclosed with that ball of wood, he would be stabbed or be cut, plus suffocated because there was only swirling water inside.

Reigan knew he f.ck up.

If bloodlust wouldn't save him, he would die, and he had no idea what would happen if he died.

If he died and didn't live again then it was a dead-end for him, but he died and his level was subtracted; he didn't know if he could go back to level 50 before the end of the elimination round.

The water was pushing and pulling him, and the armor was also starting to distort.

The armor had pushed him inside, making the air inside of him being pushed away.

Reigan wanted to take off the clothes because he was feeling so suffocated, and the back and the chest plate were tightening on his body.

He wanted to pull it away, but doing so will harm his vital organs, harming him more.

Because he was sucked in toward the circle-shaped wood, one of it's barb had pierced his legs, and stomach, making Reigan open his mouth, and the suffering influx of water made him drown.

His head and body felt so heavy, and weak along with his HP turning to 2 digit numbers.

He was wondering if Lilia and Roland were safe now.

He knew it was too stupid but if they were safe, he would feel glad.

Hey, he was too nice. And maybe it was true that good guys die early.

Reigan couldn't feel his body anymore but he never forgets to protect his neck and head, at the same time a sound of warning could be heard inside of him telling him that his health was in a critical warning.

His body was pulled in the middle of the wooden core, showing more thorns and a swirling of wind.

His sight turned dark, and his consciousness flatter. He knew if this continued he would die, but in the midst of it, there was a serene sound, talking to him.

"I can save you, just let me borrow your body," the friendly voice said.

Reigan, being in the middle of staying awake and losing consciousness, faced the thing in front of him.

He was inside the blue liquid, but unlike the normal surging wave, he was in a tranquil place.

He looked in front of him and saw a yellow, blue, and white swirling around the green orb with a ribbon-like halo on the top of it. It had 6 wings, the top two and lower 2 wings were hugging its body that's why Reigan was uncertain if the orb was smooth or not, all he knew was that it was so bright.

"Just let me borrow your body, and I will save you."

Reigan faced the orb showing the serene light. It made one feel that the thing in front of him was nice and good-natured, but another part felt wary.

He had no idea what this was and why most of the things he saw were shape in orb. It even made him think that this world loves the orb.

Reigan stared at the weird thing. "Why?"

The thing was silent, and then replied "it was normal for someone like me to help you out, after all, I live inside of you."

Reigan hearing those words made his brow scrunched. He was reminded of a pest when he heard that this thing was inhabiting his body.

The winged orb waited for Reigan to reply, "I know you needed my help, if you die at this moment wouldn't all your hard work be in vain?"

Reigan turned silent. "Then why not just give me your power."

"Because only I could use my power."

Reigan starts checking if this thing was telling the truth or not.

Reigan smiled at it. Although what this thing said felt like a deja vu for some reason, that didn't change his decision.

He looked at it with a smile on his face, at the same time his real body began counting from 30.
