Chapter 46: The Aftermath

The cold wrapped around me as if I was submerged into an icy bath. All the pulsating adrenaline had left my body and I sagged against Vazar as he led me to the nearest bench.

The soldiers had lifted Harry’s body and materialized him back to the portal where they would cross back into their world. I assumed Harry would be taken to hospital to cauterize his arm and then the authorities would charge him for his crimes of vandalizing and kidnapping with the intent to kill.

“What did the soldiers say?” I asked referring to the conversation they had before they left.

“They were asking me if we would be going back to Jumana tonight. I told them no as the journey might be too much for you after your ordeal. Was I right to tell them that?”

I smiled sleepily. “Yes, I’m too tired to make that journey tonight. I think it’s best we stay here tonight and then go back tomorrow.”

“Sounds like a plan. Shall we book a hotel and get you some food too?”
