Chapter 46: Patience is a Virtue

You’ve got to be kidding me. This b*tch has a lot of nerve coming back here. How cliche is it to interrupt a wedding at this exact moment? My whole body tingles with magic, just under the surface, begging for a reason to finally take Vicky out, once and for all.

“I suggest you leave Victoria, right now while I’m feeling merciful,” Rick says with a growl.

“Not until I say my piece,” Vicky retorts.

I start to move forward but Rick keeps a hand on my arm. Some kind of silent signal passes between him and Carl. I see Carl looking for a way to escape without Vicky’s notice and as she marches towards us, I send a spark shooting at her feet. Not to harm her, but to distract her for a moment, which works perfectly. I wink at Carl and he slinks off, getting my message.

“I wouldn’t come any closer if I were you,” I warn her.
