Chapter 62: Reunited and It Feels So Good

I’m just not ready to face Rick yet.

I ran to my room as soon as I got home and I’ve been pacing my floor ever since.

My whole body went warm and fuzzy when I saw him and my arms ached to embrace him. I need time to think about what I’m going to say. I need to make sure my emotions stay in check and that we take things slow.

All I wanted to do was run into his arms as soon as I felt his presence. Then, feelings of hurt and betrayal came rushing back and I had to walk away. I must find a way to keep my distance while I work out how we are going to move forward.

I hear a knock on the door and thinking it’s Carl, I open it immediately.

But it’s not Carl.

It’s Rick.

My mouth goes dry and I’m having trouble forming words. He must have cleaned up because he looks freshly showered. His hair is still wet and I see drops of water glistening off his neck and smell a strong manly soap coming off his body. He has a look on his face of a man starved for days and I’m his first meal.
