Chapter 62: Sleeping Beauties Lie

“You’re lying,” stated Waverly. She looked into Sawyer’s eyes, like she was searching for any sign that he was joking, but he was serious. “What—but I know it was him!”

“It wasn’t,” Sawyer repeated. But if it wasn’t, then who was it? It was so real…more than her dreams were and those were tangible. It couldn’t be fake.

Everything was a blur. What was happening to her? Her vision was covered in coloured spots which faded to a light grey then black. She felt herself lose consciousness.

“Whoa,” Sawyer said as he caught her. “Let’s get you home.”

Waverly’s head started heating up and she could sense the sweat dripping down her forehead. “I can walk, I’m okay.”

Sawyer nodded and moved his hands slightly, and Waverly wobbled. He quickly reached out and held onto her.

“C’mon, I’ve got you.”
