Chapter 76: Return of the Dead

Over the next few weeks, the hunt for Pietro’s cause of death had slowed in the town as citizens of the Crimson Shadows had come to believe the death certificate and obituary in the local newspaper that cited his death as a drowning.

However, in Waverly’s house, it was entirely the opposite. Sawyer spent late evenings and early mornings focusing all his energy into the reports and information he had gathered throughout the months from those who had known Pietro best or who had seen him last.

Yet, with his death came the revelation that whoever had the nerve to murder a child, also was most likely the same person who burned down Tillbury’s, which terrified the residents of Trinity Mountains. If they could kill an innocent individual, what else were they capable of doing? And to who?
