Rias vs Riser part 1

Matsuda POV

Finally, the game is about to start and I won't lie but I am nervous as hell. Why wouldn't I be? There is a lot riding on this match if we lose. Buchou will get stuck with that perverted asshole and they will also be stuck working for that bastard. No way in hell will I allow that. We need to win at all cost.

That's when I heard the voice of that beautiful silver haired Grayfia explain that the game was about to begin and we needed to head into the magic circle.

"Alright, It is time." I heard Buchou state. We all nodded and stepped into the magic circle.

When I opened my eyes … … HUH? I tilted my head when I saw the view because this is our clubroom.

What the, did the teleportation fail? But everyone besides me and Asia are calm and they aren't even shocked about this situation we are in.

Back in the spectator room, Issei also was surprised to see that they were teleported to Kuoh. Weren't they supposed to be teleported to a rating game field. They cant expect them to fight in Kuoh right?

But then –

[Hello everyone. I am Grayfia, a maid from the House of Gremory and today I will be the arbiter of the Rating match between the House of Gremory and the House of Phoenix.]

School broadcast? It's Grayfia-san's voice.

[In the name of my Master, Sirzechs Lucifer, I will be keeping my eye on this match. By using both Rias-sama and Raiser-sama's opinion, we created this battlefield which is a replica of the school, Kuou academy, which Rias-sama attends to in the human world.]

What! T-Then this clubroom is a replica? It's exactly the same! The location of the furniture and even the scratches on the wall is the exact same so it really has a high reproduction of the real thing!

Oh, hold on. If I look out of the window, the sky is white. It's supposed to be very dark since it's midnight. So, did they make a replica of the school in this world?

Just how extraordinary can the power of Devils be!?

[The location where both teams were transported will be their "base". Rias-sama's "base" would be the Occult Research Cub's clubroom located in the old school building. Raiser-sama's "base" would be the Student Council's room located in the new building. For the Pawns to use "promotion", please head to the enemy's base to do it.]

Alright so in order to promote, I need to head to the council's room. Good to know.

Similar to the actual chess, "promotion" is a special move you are able to do if the Pawn reaches the furthest part of the enemy's base. I can change into any pieces besides the King piece. Likewise, Raiser's Pawns can promote if they get here. Unlike us, where I am the only Pawn, they have 8 Pawns. If they all turn into Queen, we are in deep shit!

"Everyone, will you all please put this transceiver in your ears."

Akeno-san gives everyone an earphone type transceiver.

Buchou says it while putting it in her ears

"In the battlefield, we will be using these in order to communicate with one another. Make sure not to lose it" I better make sure I don't lose or break it.

[Now it's the time for the commencement of the battle. Also, this match will continue till dawn in the humans time. Without further ado, the game starts now.]

The school bell rang indicating the start of the game and thus my first rating game began.

Normal POV

Issei was surprised when he saw that the rating games field was modeled after their school. However, he was also pleased because it would prove to be an advantage for Rias since it gave her home field advantage.

"Do you know what strategy Rias is going to use for the match?" Sirzechs questioned Issei who nodded.

"Yes. As you already know there are 2 ways to defeat the regenerative powers of a phenix. Either by one shotting him with overwhelming might or to wear him down until he can no longer use it. Despite having trained extremely hard, they unfortunately do not yet possess the power of a Ultimate class, much less of a God to be able to defeat Riser in a single hit. That is why they will attempt to wear him down until he can no longer use his regenerative abilities. Of course, this will not be easy since they still need to get past his team members before being able to deal with Riser. The plan also requires that the entire team will be needed to take on Riser for it to work. The odds are against them but I believe it is their best bet to win the game." Issei explained the general strategy to Sirzechs.

"I see. I hope it works out." He said.

"Don't worry Sirzechs-chan, I'm sure Ria-tan will be able to win" Serafall tried to cheer him up which seemed to work.

Issei knew that it was going to be a difficult battle however they also had another advantage which was Riser's overconfidence in himself. Looking at the screen, it would seem that he decided to stay behind alongside his queen and simply sent out the rest of his team members after formulating a plan. This was very good for Rias and the rest since they needed to leave him for last while they took out his peerage members. They will need to take advantage of Riser's hubris for as long as possible and take down his team so that they will be able to face him together at the end. Hopefully, they will succeed.

'Good luck all of you' he wished them good luck in his thoughts.

Back in the field, Rias was discussing the strategy with her team.

"First, we have to take down Riser's pawns. It will become very troublesome if they all promoted to Queen" Rias says it while sitting on the sofa seeming quite confident which is normal considering all the training she has been through.

Akeno started to prepare tea which confused Matsuda since they were in the middle of a match.

"B-Buchou, you seem pretty calm…"

"Of course I am Matsuda-kun. I need to be. The Rating game is originally a game that doesn't finish in a short time unless it becomes a blitz but I need to be able to maintain focus throughout the entire game. Now, let's get back to the topic at hand. We have our strategy thanks to Issei's help so now it's time to implement. First of all, we need to have a general understanding of the layout of the field. Fortunately for us, our school has been selected as the stage for our battle. Yuuto."

"Yes."

Kiba spreads a map of the school on the table after Rias urges him. However, the map seems to have been divided into a grid similar to a chessboard. Rias draws a circle around the old school building and the new school building with a red pen. What she marked was her base as well as her opponents.

"There's a forest near our base. It's safe to assume that it is also our territory. In other words, the new school building would be Riser's territory. It's quite possible there will be an ambush once you enter his territory. The school field is visible from the new school building so it is dangerous to pass through here. We need to be very cautious. We cannot teleport using magic circles so we will have to travel by land."

Yuuto raised his hands.

"Why not use our wings?" he asked but Rias shook her head.

"Then do we have to go through the sports ground to get to the new school building?" Rias chuckled at Matsuda's question.

"Normally yes. But the enemy will also be aware of that. So he'll most likely have his servants positioned at the sports ground… He will have a knight or a rook positioned at one of the clubrooms located at the sports ground. No, since it is is a sports ground which will require mobility, I'm sure he will have a Knight as well as three pawns positioned there. Then he'll have control of the whole place."

Kiba then shared his own thoughts

"In that case, Buchou shouldn't we focus on the gym which is located near the old school building. If we capture it then we will have a route to the new school building and since the gym is a passage to both buildings, we will also be able to restrict the enemies movement."

Rias nods at Kiba's opinion.

"Yes, I agree with you which is why we will first capture the gym. In terms of location, Riser will probably station one of his rooks there. Since it's inside a building, it would be better to prioritize destructive power over mobility." Everyone nodded.

"What about his queen? She possesses a lot of destructive power so he might decide to place her there."

Rias shook her head

"He won't send her. In games where he has the advantage, Riser will keep his queen with him while letting his other subordinates take the field. She will make a move afterwards but not at the start."

"At least that is one less threat to deal with for now." Matsuda breathed a sign of relief

"Yuuto and Koneko, I need you two to set a trap in the forest. Take another map with you and make sure you mark the places where you set the traps in. I will make a copy afterwards and hand it to everyone."

"Yes."

Koneko and Kiba leave the room straight away after taking a map and a weird looking tool box with them.

"Everyone else is on stanby until they finish setting up the trap. Akeno!"

"Yes"

"After Yuuto-kun and Koneko-chan return, can you cast some illusions and mists around the forest as well as the sky? Please make sure it only reacts to Riser's group. He will no doubt send many of his pawns through the forest or the sky in order to promote them as early as possible. The traps will also be very useful when the battle becomes intense the midgame. Therefore, I'll leave the issue regarding the mists and illusion to you, Akeno."

"I understand Buchou."

Akeno confirms. The strategy had now begun. Matsuda and Asia however seemed to fidget as they had no idea what they were supposed to do.

"Umm Buchou, what are we supposed to do?" Matsuda pointed at Asia and himself.

"Asia will be sticking with me throughout the fight acting as my support. Matsuda-kun, you are a pawn so you will have to use promotion whenever you reach the enemy's base."

"Yes" He replied energetically. Rias then waves her hand towards him.

"Sit here" Matsuda sits next to her. She then points at her lap.

"Lay down here."

Matsuda gasped "I-Is t-this the legendary "lap pillow". I will be in your care." Matsuda unconsciously bowed to Rias as he placed his head on his beloved Buchou's lap while gulping down his saliva. The moment his cheek touched her soft lap, he felt like he was in heaven and could die a happy man.

"uuuu" he started crying without even noticing it.

Rias sighed while looking at him.

"Why are you crying?"

"It's because I'm getting a lap pillow from Buchou. I'm so moved that the tears won't stop. I will never forget this sensation for as long as I live. Thank you Buchou for this precious gift."

"You do know I could have given you a lap pillow at any time. I will be happy to give it to you again."

"R-Really" said a surprised Matsuda. Rias nodded

"Of course and I am sure even Asia-chan would be more than happy to give you one as well. Isn't that right Asia?" Matsuda turned his head without leaving Buchou's thighs and looked at Asia who seemed to be looking at him with teary eyes. She nodded her head several times indicating she would be more than happy to give Matsuda a lap pillow should he ask for it.

Rias then placed a hand on his forehead. Matsuda then felt a big change in his body as his power seemed to suddenly grow.

"I unlocked a small portion of the seal that I had cast on you."

"Huh? What seal?" asked a confused Matsuda. When did she place a seal? He doesn't remember a time when she did it.

"Do you remember the talk we had about how I had all eight of my pawn pieces to reincarnate you?" she whispered in his ear.

"Yes."

"Well at the time, your strength as a devil was very low so I was forced to put a limit on your power because your body would not have been able to handle the power of eight pawn pieces. It is only natural as you were reincarnated as a human. That is why you needed to attain more power before I could unlock the seal. Thankfully, thanks to Issei's and Tiamat-sama training, you have grown tremendously so I am now able to release a bit of the seal" Rias then started to pat his head.

"Listen up Matsuda-kun. You must defeat your opponents even if they are girls. You cannot hold back for they will not hold back against you."

"Y-Yes, I understand. Besides I have to avenge my previous defeat to that pawn." Matsuda was talking about how Riser's pawn took him down without a sweat the first time they met in the ORC clubroom.

"That's the spirit. Don't forget to use promotion to change into a queen. The battle can turn since the queen piece possesses the strongest power."

"Yes. Although it still feels weird, who is a guy, to turn into a queen. Couldn't they just say that men pawns turn into kings while female pawns turn into queens."

Rias giggled at his response.

"fufu, it's just a name for the role in chess Matsuda-kun so you don't have to think to deeply about it. We are already at a numerical disadvantage against Riser so you will have to prepare yourself to surpass your limits. Just like Issei-kun mentioned, our situation will become extremely dire should we lose even a single member."

"Yes Buchou." He stated clenching his fist with determination.

"Buchou! I will definitely make you win. Just watch me" Matsuda shared his feelings with Rias. Rias smiles after hearing that.

"Yes, I will be relying on you my adorable Matsuda-kun. I'll also be relying on you Asia-chan. Do not get separated from me under any circumstances. It will be over for us if we lose our healer."

"H-Hai Buchou. I will do my best." Replied a nervous Asia.

Once Kiba, Koneko and Akeno came back from their assigned tasks, it was time to head out.

"Okay then, Matsuda-kun, Koneko-chan I will be counting on you to take over the gym. That location will be an important place."

Koneko and Matsuda nod at Rias

"Yes Buchou" they both answered.

"Then I will be going as well" Kiba was getting ready to leave as well.

"Kiba, please move accordingly to what we discussed."

"Roger that."

"Asia will be on stanby with me until it is time to move. Make sure to notify me is you require healing. Akeno, I trust you to move when you think the time is right."

"Yes, Buchou." responded Akeno. Rias trusted her to move depending on the situation. Rias then steps forward after she checked on everyone.

"Alright everyone, are you ready? Our opponent is Riser, an immortal phenex as well as someone who is said to be a genius from his household. Let's go and blow him away!"

["Yes"] Everyone replied before rushing to battle.

"Matsuda-san! Everyone! Do your best" Asia cheered everyone as they left.

Matsuda and Koneko immediately headed towards the gym backdoor entrance. They couldn't use the main door because it was connected to the new school building so their intrusion would be spotted and it is likely they would be ambushed. Luckily, the back door wasn't locked so they were able to enter without issue.

As they were slowly walking towards the court, Koneko mutters.

"I sense 4 enemy presences."

However, before Matsuda could utter a reply, a loud voice echoed within the gymnasium.

"We know you are there, Servants of Gremory. We watched you coming inside"

No point in hiding anymore, Matsuda and koneko showed themselves as they approached their opponents.

As Koneko stated their were 4 opponents. Xuelan, Riser's rook. The twins Ile and Nel and finally Mira, the girl who defeated Matsuda with ease before. Just as Rias predicted, Riser sent a rook to this location

Matsuda immediately activated the boosted gear and started boosting himself

["Boost"]

"I will take care of the rook Matsuda-sempai. I leave the pawns to you."

"Will do. Make sure you win Koneko-chan" replied Matsuda earning him a nod from Koneko. They both stood in front of their opponents.

Xuelan held a kung fu stance, Mira held her staff and the twins grabbed to matsuda's surprise and horror, their chainsaws.

"What the hell!" he couldn't believe those girls were holding such dangerous weapons. He really needed to be careful here.

["Make sure to block them with the boosted gear"] warned Ddraig

'Don't need to tell me twice' replied Matsuda.

["Boost"] Matsuda boosted himself once more.

"It's time to disassemble you" both the twins said happily as they swung their chainsaws at Matsuda. He quickly dodged one of them and successfully defended the second one with his boosted gear. He quickly tackled one of the twins with his sholder in order to create some distance. However, he had no time to think as Mira used that time to swing her staff at him.

"Woahhh" Matsuda managed to dodge by a thin margin as her weapon tore his shirt. What a sharp thrust!

Thankfully, thanks to Issei's training, Matsuda's reaction speed seemed to be on point. Unlike last time when he got recked by Mira, this time he could see her attacks.

A bit further away, Koneko and Xuelan had already begun their fight with each other sending punch after punch against one another. Each hit seem to be very powerful which made sense considering both of them were rooks. Koneko seemed to have the advantage due to her short size which allowed her to move more freely. However Xuelan was no slouch as she was able to keep up with her.

Unfortunately for Xuelan, Koneko had a secret weapon at her disposal. Spotting an opening, Koneko infused a bit of senjutsu energy into her fist and struck at Xuelan side. Despite the fact that she was able to partially dodge the blow, it was still enough to disrupt her ki flow which tremendously slowed down her movements.

This battle was clearly going in Koneko's favor and it was only a matter of time before she defeats her opponent.

Back with Matsuda, he was doing very well against his three opponents. He was able to dodge their combined assault while continuously boosting himself. His opponents were clearly frustrated at the fact that they could not land a single hit on the pervert.

"Ah, geez! This is so frustrating"

"Why can't I hit him."

The twins were so angry that they were stomping their feet on the ground.

"Stop moving and die" Mira stated also irritated that her attacks weren't going through.

"Hell no. I don't want to die." Said Matsuda as he dodged another strike from Mira.

[Boost]

"Nice, I think it's time to go on the offensive."

He had accumulated enough boosts and it was time to use them.

"Let's do this Ddraig." Shouted Matsuda

[Explosion]

Matsuda was getting overflowed with power and now it was time to attack.

"I'll take care of you two first" he looked at the twins before dashing quickly towards them. The twins couldn't react to his newfound speed as he sent one of the twins flying after landing a hit on her.

"How dare you hit my sister!" shouted the other twin in anger as she swung her chainsaw once again at Matsuda. However, Matsuda easily dodged it and delivers another hit to the other sister, also sending her backwards. Just in time since Mira tried to use this moment to land a hit on Matsuda with an overhead swing of her staff. Matsuda simply twisted his body and broke her weapon with a karate chop. Without a moment to spare, he hit Mira away.

"Kyaah" she rolls on the floor while screaming. The twins finally managed to get back in the fight.

"Dammit, if we lose to a guy like him Riser-sama will be mad at us"

"We won't lose. We will disassemble you for sure this time" Both of them turned on their chainsaws once again but were startled when they heard Matsuda start to laugh.

"hahaha, you won't be acting that way for long. It's time to finish this. I have already managed to accomplish the necessary condition to activate my technique. Now, behold… my ultimate techniqueee"

What happened next was something no one had seen coming

"Dress Break"

With a snap of his fingers, his magic activated and instantly shredded all 3 of the girl's clothes including their undergarments exposing their naked form to Matsuda.

Instantly, a lot of blood burst out his nose extremely happy to see that his magic worked

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooo" All three girls shrieked as their voice echoed throughout the gym. They all ducked down to the floor trying desperately to cover their private parts.

"Ahahaha, How's that? This is my ultimate technique that I have spent so many days perfecting with Asia. I call it Dress Break. I just kept on imagining a girl's clothing getting blown away and eventually I finally perfected it." Matsuda shouted with excitement.

"You are the worst! Enemy of all women"

"Beast"

"Sex fiend"

The girls were all hurling insult after insult at the pervert while having tears in their eyes but Matsuda didn't care.

"Pervert, I have misjudged you"

That is until he heard Koneko muttering her own insult which stabbed his heart.

That was when they both heard a sound from their ear piece.

["Koneko, Matsuda. Can you hear me?"] They both heard Rias voice.

"Yes! Both Koneko-chan and I can hear you. We are in the middle of battling our opponents and are doing very well" Matsuda responded.

["That's great but Akeno has already completed her preparations so I want you two to move according to the plan"]

Matsuda and Koneko both glanced at each and nodded before immediately dashing away to the central entrance while ignoring their opponents.

"You dare turn your back to your opponents. Come back here, the fight isn't over yet. Weren't you supposed to defend this place?"

Riser's servants were shocked that they would simply run away.

However, the answer to that came as soon as Koneko and Matsuda left the building. An instant flash covered the entire gym and then

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

A huge lightning fell down from the sky and blew up the entire gym along with Riser's peerage.

[Riser's Phenix three pawns and one rook retires!] Grayfia announcement could be heard broadcasted around the field.

"We did it Koneko-chan" celebrated Matsuda as he tried to put his hand on her shoulder but she avoids him.

"Please don't touch me… pervert" Koneko glares at Matsuda who backs away understanding that any girl would have that reaction upon seeing his technique.

"hehe, don't worry Koneko-chan, I won't use it on my comrades."

"… you just admitted that you used that lowly technique on Asia… so I don't trust you." Koneko responded reminding him that he had basically admitted to that.

Matsuda looked away and whistled having forgotten about that when he bragged to his opponents.

[Riser's Three pawns have retired] Another announcement was heard letting them know that three more of their opponents have been defeated. It must have been Kiba.

["Everyone can you hear me? Kiba has just defeated 3 of Riser's pawns who were spotted in the forest and thanks to Akeno's attack, the others were eliminated as well and now the first phase of our plan is complete"] Rias said. Their plan was to destroy the gym along with Riser's servant. Matsuda and Koneko were supposed to simply buy enough time until Akeno gathered the necessary amount of demonic power to blast the gym to smithereens. The plan went very smoothly. On top of that, Kiba also manage to defeat 3 of Riser's pawns. Thanks to that, Riser lost half his team in one fell swoop thus evening the playing field.

It happens while Matsuda is celebrating their recent victory. Koneko's instinct reacted to danger.

"Look out" she shouted, quickly shoving Matsuda out of the way on instinct.

BOOOM

A sudden explosion engulphed the area. Matsuda was spared thanks to Koneko however…

"Koneko-chan" shouted Matsuda as he spotted her lying on the floor a bit away from him as smoke aroused from her. She took the full brunt of the blow because she had to save him. He quickly ran to her and held her.

"That's one down"

An unknown voice said as Matsuda looked up in the air to find the perpetrator. It was a beautiful woman dressed up as a mage. He instantly knew who she was. Riser's queen, Yubelina.

"fufu. When you hunt a prey, the best time to take them down is when they believe they have accomplished something because that's the time the prey is the most vulnerable. You may have taken down a few of our pieces but the sacrifice is worth it to take down one of you. Your group has a small number to begin with so if we whittle down your numbers, it will give us a big advantage. Not that Riser-sama needs it. Even if you miraculously defeat us, there's no way you will be able to defeat Riser-sama. It's useless to resist." Yubelina laughs at their pitiful resistance.

"Damn you" Matsuda cursed her but at the same time was cursing himself because it was his fault Koneko had to sacrifice herself to save him. Even after all the times Issei told him to always have his guard up, he stupidly celebrating their small victory which left him vulnerable to Yubelina's ambush.

"I'm sorry… I wanted to be of more use to Buchou and everyone" said Koneko in a low voice.

"D-Don't apologize Koneko-chan. It was all my fault, not yours! Y-You did amazingly well. Just wait, once Asia arrives, she will heal you and"

Koneko's body was enveloped in light as she started to fade before disappearing from the field.

[Rias Gremory's Rook retires] A cruel announcement was heard by Rias and her team.
