Chapter 4

Eldritch. A pretty scary name. It's the name of this planet. Thought Arthur. Along the way to get to the closest city. Arthur has been thinking about himself, his relationship to the people here and the world. This world has 8 continents together but currently because of some things that happened in the past only two continents are said to be accessible where different intelligent races lived while the others are said to be abandoned. Meaning no intelligent races lives there except monsters and maybe dragons as well but dragons are different from monsters.

Putting aside the dragon race. The two continents are called the Wilbur continent and the Azathrall continent. Again, both are pretty ominous names. Is this world connected to a certain abomination? Thought Arthur as he denies it at the same time. Anyway, the continent he's currently on is the Wilbur continent. Aside from the demons. The races that live here are the humans, the giants, the druids, the dragonkin, the winged race, and lastly the beast race.

Arthur is the heir to a viscount of the Kingdom of Dawn. There are four great kingdoms and one empire on the human side. There are minor kingdoms as well but the main fighting forces are those five. The Kingdom of Dawn is part of the four great kingdoms.

After thinking for a while Arthur and the company reached their destination. Thuram city. Managed by Baron Maynard of the Maynard household. There was a city not far from the Iron lily city as well, and it was just a few tens of kilometers from here. The Cario city. Managed by the Lucas household. That's right, Arthur's home. In the end, Arthur chose to go here and it's not because it's the closest, no it's mainly to avoid or at least delay his meeting with his family.

Arthur or Jake has always been awkward in meeting relatives, he always tries to avoid them, and to make it worse his cousins have a pretty decent life while he was just slacking. Because of it, meeting his relatives has always been awkward. Especially now that he replaced Arthur and even though he has memories of his family, they still be strangers to Jake and they might notice that there is something different about Arthur. Jake or Arthur is afraid that they'll notice and starts to wonder what happened to him, especially his observant mother. So, along the way Arthur has been memorizing what he usually does, his gestures, his actions, and whatever related to Arthur.

One of the most important priorities right now for Arthur however is fighting. Jake has no idea how to fight, but Arthur on the other hand is a genius in fighting. Arthur has no idea if he still has the skill to fight or has it been lost along with 'Arthur'? He has memories of them but he hasn't tried it on his body now. Like they say, Memorizing the moves and doing them are two different things.

They went through the gate and went straight into the Mansion of Baron Maynard. The city guards didn't stop them as they saw the insignia on their capes. As they approached the gate of the city lord mansion, they stepped down their horse and went inside.

Baron Maynard. A 40 plus-year-old man. From Arthur's memories, this man is pretty good at praising others and getting favors. Different from the Lucas household who originated from a family of warriors. The Maynard household originated from a family of merchants. Of course, they had some prominent warriors but mostly all of them value the power of money than the fist.

ng including a gold bracelet, necklace, and rings along with an old man wearing what seems to be butler clothing greeted Arthur as he approaches them.

"Young Arthur! It's a pleasure having you here. You look as magnificent and as valiant as ever. The kingdom is thankful to have you because it means that the kingdom has a bright future"

Hearing this Arthur's lips twitched. This guy really knows how to praise people thought Arthur. Ignoring the praises he said for him. He went straight to the point.

"Good day, Baron Maynard as much as I'd like to talk about the bright future of the kingdom I'm afraid there's been an emergency. Hundreds of demons have occupied the Iron Lily city" Not forgetting to be polite Arthur said.

Hearing this the baron stopped about what he was about to say and said

"How could it be? If hundreds of demons appeared then they should have been noticed by the border cities."

Border cities. Simply put it's cities that are at the border between the demon region and the human territories. They are war cities that are always in conflict with the demons.

"I don't how they did it but it doesn't matter, for now, our priority should be taking the Iron Lily city back and save the people"

"Curse those demons! Of course, the Baron household will do what it can to help"

"Thank you, Baron Maynard. I need you to send some messenger birds to other cities

closest to Iron lily city as well as to the Count, inform them of what happened"

Hearing this the baron got busy and left Arthur. He entrusted one of the maids to lead Arthur to the guest room but Arthur denied and instead went to the barracks where his other comrades went. He planned to practice his skills to see if he still has them.

After scouting the camps of the knights, Raker and the other demons went back to the city. Just as Raker plans to create some chaos among the humans his captain, Bala, said

"Raker, Red, Gallum, and Vergil I want you to go to underground point 1 and stay there and observe what's coming. In a couple of hours, they will be probably hundreds if not thousands of soldiers that's gonna come so we need to know which direction they'll be coming and prepare to set up a trap"

Hearing this, Raker that's about to go torment some humans was stunned and pissed. But he didn't say his complaints and just agreed. The other demons were the same as him but they also agreed.

Then captain Bala went to others and assign them to other underground points as well. These underground points are tunnels which they dug through some special means to serve as escape routes and scouting routes.

Raker and the other demons went to underground point 1. It was a long tunnel pointing in the southwest direction. It has a diameter of five meters. They proceeded to their destination. After reaching there, one of the demons whose name is Gallum said..

"Why are we here while the others are enjoying the humans? Fuck Bala hogging all the fun, hey Red let's fight to pass the time, we'll die from boredom if we just sit here and do nothing. Vergil, Raker wanna join?"

"Sure" Answered Red. For the demons, fighting is just a common custom and basically just became their hobby.

"I'm in and let's bet and who's the last man standing to make it more interesting."

"Hahaha Let's do it. I bet 20 demon gold coins! How about you Raker wanna join?" Red said as he turns to Raker.

"Alright, I needed some money anyway" Raker agreed and bet 20 demon gold coins as well. Out of all demons here, in terms of fighting Raker has the most experience so even though they're all equal in strength he was confident he can win. Thinking he was about to get some demon gold coins he was delighted to fight.

Just as the fight is about to start. Raker remembered the packet he picked up from the camp. He grabbed it from his pocket. This time he directly tore open a small hole and pour the contents to his nose. The demons have always been fearless. In fact, they have never been afraid of anything except their fellow demons. Be it druids, giants, and even dragons they will charge through fearlessly.

"Let's see what's so special about you" Mumbled Raker. He wasn't worried if it was poison, one of the innate traits of demons is that they have a good sense of smell, they can in some way identify if something is poisonous or not through their sense of smell.

Seeing this the others were puzzled

"Hey, Raker what you got there? The hell did you just really put that thing on your nose? Hey that's looks crazy I want some!" Said Gallum

"The fuck are you doing?" Chimed in Red

Finishing an entire packet Raker bent down and inhaled the contents more. After he did it, he waited for something to happen but...

"Nothing? Well, whatever let's fight!"
