Chapter 3

I woke up to Charlie sitting beside me on his bed calling my name and tapping me on the shoulder trying to wake me up. "Go away," I grunted, not yet wanting to open my eyes.

"Fine you can sleep a little longer but you're going to miss breakfast, and I don't think you want to cause Jordan made chocolate chip pancakes." Charlie knew I would get up after he said that, I never would pass up chocolate chip pancakes. I jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen "pancakessss!" I yelled. When I got in the kitchen Jordan gave me a plate right away with 2 chocolate chip pancakes on it.

I sat down but before I could eat Jordan had to interrupt. "Aren't you going to put on any pants panda girl?" He said with a smirk on his face. I was too excited about pancakes I forgot I only had underwear on under the shirt. "Oh my god!" I got up and ran to Charlie's room.

Charlie was still in his room picking out what clothes he should wear today, I swear he never could figure out what to wear even when he was little. "Got any pants or shorts I could wear?" He looked through his clothes then told me to ask Jordan. I didn't know why I should ask Jordan but I did and he gave me an outfit for the day.

"How do you have girl clothes?" I asked but then regretted it. "Some girls leave stuff behind after we spend the night together." It was like he kept what they left as trophies, gross. I didn't want to wear it but I had to if I wanted to leave and get my own clothes. I quickly got changed and headed back to the kitchen to eat my pancakes. They were so good that I even made Jordan make me a couple more.

After breakfast, me and Charlie headed for the house. The car ride was silent, you could tell neither of us wanted to go back to that house. When we arrived at the house we didn't knock but just went in. "Who's there?" We heard as we saw our mother walk towards us. She pointed at me and said, "Didn't I tell you to leave?"

"We are just here to get Roses things, then we are gone for good." Charlie tries to tell mom. "Who said you could talk? I was talking to her!" Mom snapped back. Then yelled, "You have fifteen minutes, then you better be out of my house!" Without saying anything else she walked back into the kitchen and we headed up to my room.

As we got into my room I grabbed a couple of bags and started putting my clothes into them. I got Charlie to grab some of my books and art supplies. I knew I couldn't take everything but I packed as much as I could.

Before heading back to the apartment we stopped at a furniture store. I needed to get a bed frame and bedsheets, also a dresser to keep my clothes in.

The car ride back wasn't as quiet as before. Charlie kept going on about how he hated our mother and I sat there trying to hold my tears in but failing. It hit me that I could never be in that house again and that I wasn't gonna see mom again.

When we got to the apartment I didn't say a word but ran to my room. Charlie and Jordan brought everything up for me and set up my bed and dresser.

"You guys can go now," I said with my head in my pillow. "Are you sure you want us to leave?" Charlie sat on the bed and placed his hand on my upper back. "Yes! I'm going to put my clothes away in a second. I'll see you for dinner." I got up off my bed and kicked them both out.

After about five minutes I finally calmed down and started putting away my clothes. I got changed into sweatpants and a tee-shirt, finally getting out of those trophy clothes.

I walked into the kitchen where Charlie and Jordan were. "Rose, you can pick what we eat tonight." My brother told me. "We should get McDonald's!" I yelled in excitement. Jordan and I told Charlie what we wanted and he left to get it for us.

"You like McDonald's that much?" Jordan chuckled. "Who doesn't love McDonald's?" I looked at Jordan with a serious face which only made him chuckle even more. "Cute," Jordan said as quietly as he could, but I still heard.

Before I could comment on what he said Charlie came back with the food. My attention went straight to the McDonald's and forgot all about what Jordan said. After dinner, I finished unpacking my stuff then headed to bed.
