Chapter 4

My eyes slowly opened as I turned over and grabbed my phone. "Shit it's already 1 o'clock." I slowly got out of bed and stumbled into Jordan and Charlie's room, no one was there. I made my way to the living room "Jordan, Charlie!" I yelled, no answer. "Where is everyone?" I walked into the kitchen and saw a note on the counter.

I started reading 'Jordan and I are at school, Jordan will be home at 3, but I won't be home till 8 cause I have work. Make sure you have dinner - Charlie' He could have told me this yesterday instead of having to make me panic for nothing.

The rest of the day I sat in front of the tv and watched horror movies. Two hours later while watching my second horror movie I heard someone at the front door rattling the doorknob. I sat at the corner of the coach scared out of my mind. The door slowly started to open, afraid to look I closed my eyes and screamed "AHHH please don't kill me!"

"Woah there I'm not going to kill you, but you might kill me with your scream. Your scream is so loud, I can hardly hear now." I heard a chuckle and knew exactly who it was. I squinted to make sure before fully opening my eyes "Jordan you scared the crap out of me!" He tried holding in his laugh but ultimately couldn't. I threw the couch pillow at him and began to laugh with him.

"What are we watching?" Jordan came and sat on the couch next to me. "A horror movie," I replied. "So that's why you were so scared earlier. Are you scared of horror movies?" He chuckled and turned toward me like he wanted to start a conversation. I turned towards him "If you want to watch the rest of this movie with me then don't talk." I turned back to face the tv and neither of us spoke till the movie ended.

After the movie finished we both decided to go to the mall so I could buy some clothes since I could only pack a few things. "What store do you want to go into?" Jordan says as we walk into the mall. "Garage." Which was my favorite store, I didn't need to get much and I knew I could find what I needed there.

"Ou this top is so cute." I picked up a pink crop top and showed Jordan. "Don't you think it's too short? You will look slutty in it." I rolled my eyes and handed the top to him "I like it and since you said that you are holding all the clothes I want." I ended up buying six tops, two skirts, a pair of shorts, and a PJ set. Jordan disagreed with everything I bought, but I didn't care about his opinion.

On the way home, we were both starving so we ended up stopping at a restaurant. "I will have the steak with fries and a coke," Jordan told the waiter as I continued to look at the menu. "Umm... I will have the same but with mashed potatoes instead of fries." I really wanted the chicken fingers but I didn't want to look childish in front of Jordan who I still hardly knew.

After we were done eating Jordan paid for both of us then we headed back home. When we got back Charlie was already home. "Rose I need to talk to you for a second," Charlie said to me, I couldn't stop thinking if I had done something wrong. He waited till Jordan left the room before talking. "I spoke with the principal at my school and he said that you can transfer to our school and that you can start school tomorrow."

"Great I have to start going to school again." I haven't taken school seriously since dad die and then when Charlie left I hardly went. "Just so you know Charlie I haven't really been attending school since you left, so I'm kinda behind on my studies," I told him, I was nervous about how he would react. He put his hand on his forehead and thought for a minute. "It's fine but no more skipping school from now on." I'm shocked he wasn't madder about it. "I promise I won't skip anymore."

He handed me two sets of the school uniform one set with a skirt and the other set with a pair of pants. I took a long bath to try to destress about my first day back at a school but at least I had Charlie and Jordan there. Jordan was in the same grade as me so I hope we have some classes together and that he would actually sit with me and help me understand the lessons.
