Chapter 5

*beep beep*

My alarm goes off at 6:40 leaving me an hour to get breakfast and get ready, and have 20 minutes to drive to school. But instead of getting up I hit snooze and went back to sleep.

"Rose you up!" With a knock on the door, Charlie walked into my bedroom to find that I'm still sleeping. "Rose get up it's 7:30 you have to get ready, we have to go in 10 minutes." He said shaking me till I woke up.

I jumped out of bed grabbed my school clothes and ran into the washroom. I got changed, brushed my teeth, and throw my hair up into a ponytail. With no time to have any breakfast I rushed to the front door slipped on my shoes and grabbed my backpack, then we all headed to the car.

As we entered the school I couldn't help but shake. "Nervous?" Jordan asked me. "No... it's not like this is my first time going to school in a long time." I didn't want to admit I was nervous, but I also didn't want Jordan to know that I haven't been to a school in awhile. Guess the cats out of the bag now.

"What you haven't been going to school! You could have told me. I'll help you out around here." He was shocked but sounded sincere about helping me out.

Charlie placed his hand on my shoulder "You don't have to be nervous Jordan and I are both going to walk you to the principal office to get your schedule then help you hind your locker." I took a big breath in before we started walking to the principal office. How bad could high school be?

I got my schedule then we headed to look for my locker, it was right beside Charlie's locker so that was nice. I looked at my schedule religion, math, lunch, English, gym.

"What classes do you have?" I looked at Jordan hoping we had at least one class together. "Science, math, lunch, art, then gym." My face lit up and I started to bounce a little "Yay we here two classes together!" Jordan and Charlie started chuckling.

"We can sit together if you would like." He asked me. "Yes please, you are the only one I know here in my grade," I said before he even finished his sentence. "Okay well I'll see you in math, I have to start heading to my class and you should too." Jordan started walking away continued by Charlie leaving for class. "See ya!"I yelled hoping they heard me.

I started walking down the hallway, room 103 was the religion classroom. "127, 126, 125" I counted down all the classrooms I passed. Distracted by counting down the room numbers I walked right into someone.

"Ow!" I fell to the ground and dropped all my books. "Are you alright? I'm sorry for bumping into you. Here let me help you up." A hand reached out towards me, I grabbed my books and then grabbed their hand. I looked up and saw it was a guy that I bumped into and he looked familiar somehow. "Thanks and I'm sorry I was the one who wasn't looking."

He looked at me for a while with a surprised look on his face "Rose Stewart!" I looked at him confused "How do you know my name?" I just meet this guy how does he know me. "It's me, Zachary Clayton." I stood there thinking for a minute "Oh my god Zach!" I was so excited that I jumped up and hugged him as tight as I could.

Zach was my childhood best friend, he moved away when we were 9 and we never saw or spoken to each other since then. That is till now. I can't believe he's here, who would have thought we would meet again.

"Want to get dinner tonight so we can catch up with each other?" He asked me while hugging me back just as tightly. "I would love to." Finally, we can talk to each other again after all these years. "I can pick you up at 6 o'clock." I pulled out my phone "Here give me your phone number so I can text you my address." I handed him my phone and he put in his phone number.

"We should get to our classes the bell is about to ring," Zach said breaking our hug. "Would you mind helping me find my class, I'm kinda lost." I said looking down at my feet. "Sure what's the room number?" Without any thought, he agreed to help me. "Room 103."

With the classes I had with Jordan we sat together and he helped me out with just about everything we were learning. At lunchtime, I sat with Jordan, Charlie, and a couple of their friend. I would have also sat with Zach but I couldn't find him anywhere.

Finally, the school bell rang. Since Jordan and I had last class together we walked to our meet-up point which was at the school doors to the parking lot. I saw a red-headed girl in a cheerleader outfit look at me with anger in her eyes. I swear her face was almost as red as her hair, she was obviously the mean girl of the school and had a thing for Jordan.

When Charlie finally arrived at our meet-up spot we headed back to the apartment. I wanted to get my homework done before I needed to get ready for dinner with Zach, so I sat down in the living room with Jordan and he helped me do my homework.
