Chapter 116: Grim reaper

As Natsu and the others were dealing with Naked Mummy, Jura and his group had encountered members of a dark guild as well, a dark guild that used picture magic to create beasts.

Jura, Lyon, and Cherry had initially no problems dealing with the beasts that the dark guild members had summoned until they summoned their most powerful beast.

"A wyvern!" Lyon yelled in shock.

Wyverns were distant cousins of dragons, although they were far weaker and dumber than their cousins, wyverns were still some of the most fearsome predators.

And unlike dragons, wyverns were not able to use magic, nor did they have a breath attack.

However, their bodies were extremely robust, and their scales were harder than any steel, making them a highly sought material for blacksmiths.

There were many subspecies of wyverns that had adapted to other climates, as normally wyverns lived in forests and made their nests in the deepest parts of them.

"Be careful everyone, this won´t be an easy fight." Jura said and rammed his staff into the ground.

Lyon got ready and waited for Jura to make the first move, he and Cherry would support Jura.

Cherry was using her magic to create a stone puppet.

The members of the dark guild were laughing hysterically, their wyvern had never been defeated before, giving them the idea that it was unbeatable.

The wyvern spread its wings and flew high into the air, keeping its eyes on the three mages beneath.

Lyon created ice eagles to limit its movement and bait it down again, but the scales of the wyvern were simply too taught, and the wyvern just ignored them.

The members of the dark guild boasted about the capability of their wyvern, as they saw how Lyon´s magic didn´t affect the wyvern at all.

Lyon and Cherry ignored the group and Lyon tried again to force the wyvern down.

"That won´t be necessary, Leon." Jura said as Lyon was about to cast his magic.

Lyon stopped and watched as Jura simply walked toward the members of the dark guild.

Seeing that Jura was focusing on them, the members of the dark guild hurriedly ordered the wyvern to attack Jura.

With a roar, the wyvern dived toward Jura, its claws ready to impale the mage.

But before it reached Jura, Jura turned around and with a motion of his hand, the earth moved, and multiple pillars rose into the air.

The pillars fell and buried the wyvern beneath them.

Jura moved his hand again and another pillar appeared, directly beneath the wyvern´s head, piercing it and killing it instantly.

"NO!!! OUR WYVERN!!!" yelled the members of the black guild in despair.

Some tried to run away, but before they could take even a couple of steps, they were either frozen completely or had been caught by moving tree branches.

The three made sure that no one was able to escape and hurried on.

Anna and the members from Blue Pegasus had also encountered the members of a dark guild, and just like Natsu´s group and Jura´s group they also didn´t have any difficulties with them.

Ren and Eve were the main attackers of the group, their magic had also a good synergy with each other.

Of course, the other three were also contributing to the fight, especially Ichiya with his perfume magic.

Perfume magic was magic that used vials filled with perfume.

Each perfume had different effects, which would take effect as soon as it reached the nose of a person.

Ichiya himself was constantly trying to create new perfumes or increase the effects of his already existing ones.

The one that Ichiya used in this battle was a perfume that electrocuted the enemy.

Anna was giving the group support and watching them use their magic in battle, seeing these different kinds of magic was fascinating, to say the least, especially the perfume magic.

After the battle, Anna talked with Ichiya about his perfume magic, of course, Ichiya tried to flirt with Anna, but she had only eyes for magic.

Meanwhile, Natsu and the others had reached a bridge that passed over a river.

"Everyone, be careful, the enemy could use this as a chance to ambush us." Erza warned.

Gray and Natsu nodded and watched their surroundings, after they had dealt with the group of apes that were Naked Mummy, they hadn´t met any other dark guild members, but they had a feeling that they were being watched.

Erza and Gray crossed the bridge first, while Natsu jumped over it.

As Natsu had traveled halfway over the bridge, the wind suddenly increased in strength and hurled Natsu into the air.

Wendy and Happy quickly acted, Wendy stopped the wind while Happy jumped into the air, trying to reach Natsu.

A wall made of wind blades appeared before the group, the wind blades shredded everything in their path and quickly approached the group.

Wendy, Erza, and Gray quickly acted to protect themselves and the people around them, while Natsu tried to shield Happy with his body.

Wendy tried to consume the barrage of wind blades, but it was simply too many for her.

As the barrage of wind blades waded away, a person flew down before them.

He wore a heavy coat with a dark shirt beneath, dark baggy pants, and dark boots.

"It´s been a while, little flies. It´s time to pay you back for what you have done to me." said Erigor in an arrogant tone.

"Erigor! What are you doing here?" Erza yelled in confusion.

After Erigor had been defeated by Natsu, back when he and the rest of Eisenwald had tried to use Lullaby to kill the guild masters at the meeting, he had disappeared, and both the council and the military had no luck in finding him.

Lucy shivered from fright; she still remembered the devastation that Erigor could cause.

"After I got defeated by that brat, I ran away as soon as I woke up. My pride was broken and humiliated like never before. I went back to Oración Seis and became one of the highest-ranked members of the whole organization. I had planned to destroy you guys, your guild, and Magnolia after we optioned Nirvana, but now that you are here, I will finish you myself. STARTING WITH THAT SALAMANDER!!!" Erigor explained and sent multiple wind blades toward Erza and the others while he flew toward Natsu.

Natsu had crashed onto the ground because of the wind blades, but he had barely received any scratches from them.

He was currently making sure that Happy wasn´t injured.

"DIE YOU FLY!!!" Erigor yelled as he prepared his most powerful spell.

Natsu, on the other hand, just looked at Erigor, Natsu hadn´t even noticed Erigor´s presence nor did he recognize him.

Natsu became annoyed by the ruckus that Erigor was making and strengthened his legs with magic power before jumping into the air and punching Erigor with a full-force Iron Fist into the face.

Erigor was sent flying with such a force that he broke through multiple trees before smashing into a giant boulder.

No one was sure if he would survive this, not that anyone cared about it.

"Man, that guy was annoying… Who was that anyway?" Natsu asked while scratching his head.

Erza, Gray, and Lucy simply couldn´t believe how stupid Natsu was sometimes.

Gray wanted to punch him hard, Erza just tried to ignore it and Lucy simply facepalmed and shook her head.

Happy tried desperately to help Natsu to remember but to no avail.

"Seriously, man, what do you even remember? At least tell me that you remember promises?" Gray asked.

"Of course, I remember my promises. Why wouldn´t I?" Natsu answered, feeling wronged.

"How about the promise that you gave to Zeldaris and Aversia about waiting until they arrived? Hmm?" Erza said with a raised eyebrow.

Natsu became pale, he had completely forgotten about that promise, or rather he had chosen to forget about it.

Erza and Lucy laughed at Natsu as he desperately tried to come up with a way to escape the punishment the two would surely give him.

However, Gray narrowed his eyes, he wasn´t happy with Natsu´s answer.

'Are you sure about that, Natsu? Because I am certain that you have forgotten an important promise. Although it has been years since you made it. I still remember it. And if you do not remember it or try to keep it. Then I will force you to do it.'

Gray closed his eyes.

'It won´t be long before she finished the last preparations. She should be finished after we return from this, and then it will be time for you to keep your promise… Natsu.'

Wendy and Carla also joined the conversation, asking about Erigor and how they knew them.

While Erza and Lucy answered the questions, it happened.

A quick movement and Lucy disappeared.

Everyone quickly looked around and saw Racer beside the river, Lucy in his hand.

"You guys are a bit too slow for my taste, so how about I make it more interesting and bring up the speed?" Racer said with a grin.

Lucy was too scared to move.

"Let go of her!!!" Natsu yelled, flames emerged from his fists and covered them.

Erza and Gray also got ready, trying to think of a way to free Lucy.

Wendy went through the enchantments in her mind, but before she nor anyone could move, Racer threw Lucy into the river.

"LUCY!!!" yelled both Natsu and Erza as they tried to save her.

Gray tried to freeze Racer into a statue, but in less than in a blink of an eye, Racer disappeared and both Natsu and Erza fell to the ground and had to watch how Lucy was taken away by the strong current of the river.

Not giving up, Erza tried to use her magic to equip an armor that could help her to save Lucy.

However, as soon as she had changed her armor into the black wing armor, she noticed that she was no longer at the river but was now in a completely different place.

'Shit, I was careless.' Erza berated herself.

Racer had grabbed her as she was equipping and brought her far away from the others.

Erza quickly flew into the air and above the trees, surveying the surroundings and trying to find the others.

She had completely forgotten that she could simply call Hibiki and ask him for directions.

Luckily for her, Natsu and Gray were making more than enough chaos for Erza to find them.

'Please, make it in time.' Erza prayed as she quickly flew toward the area where Natsu and Gray were going against Racer.
