Hayden Pov.

“How come Moon Goddess pairing me with a married woman!” I growled at my self as I got back to the office. 'And she has a child!' My fist tightened and slammed my desk.

I was so surprised, when she told me that the little girl was her daughter. I had never found any case of an Alpha mated to a married woman, even a mother! That was why I muttered to my self that it was impossible. Unfortunately I said it loud enough to be heard by her. And she looked offended by my word. But then she forgave me as I explained that she got it wrong.

However, I couldn't help my self from smiling ear to ear when we talked at the meeting. She was really beautiful with a pair of dark blue eyes. pointed nose and kissable plump lips. I wanted to brush her long wavy blonde hair with my hand and buried my face in the crook of her neck, smelling her fucking sweet scent. But then I saw at her lap, there were a sleeping child. Her daughter. I was frustrated.

"Wait, is the kid really her child? Not her niece? But she said, ‘my daughter’, then the kid is absolutely her daughter. If she has a daughter, it is of course she has married. What if she is a widow? It has still no point. It would not be a problem with me if she is a widow. I will accept her no matter what. The point is she has a child. And I hate children!” I was talking to myself.

A loud knock distracted me. “Come in.” I said trying to be calm.

It was Danny. He came in the room while asking excitedly. “How’s the meeting?” He stood beside my desk, studied my expression.

“It went well. What’s up with that face? I know you have hidden something for me since this morning.” I narrowed my eyes on him. Bothered by the thought of him doing so. What was that he was hiding? Don’t tell me that he knew that Ms. Elena Wilson was actually my mate. “You know my mate, don’t you? You set up this meeting, so that I could find her, my mate, don't you?!” I accused.

“Wait, what? Mate? You found your mate? Where is she? Why don’t you bring her here.?” He was more excited now.

“You don’t know her? So, it’s not about mate? Then what is it? I smell something fishy.”

“Of course not, how can I know who your mate is, since you are the only one who can confirm about it."

"Ah right! I was being a dummy." I cursed myself for forgetting that kind of thing.

"I was just very excited that you would meet the hottest and the most beautiful CEO ever. I thought you might fall for her and would start to forget about your unknown mate.” Dany tried to explain. “But you said you found her? Don’t say … “

“Yes, the hottest and the most beautiful CEO ever that you talked about is actually my mate. Ms. Elena Wilson is my mate.” I rubbed my face hard.

“Hey, isn’t it good? Why are you not happy?”

“Because she is a married woman! Should I accept her and snatch her from her husband? Or should I reject her now? What should I do? I really don't have an idea” my voice sounded frustrated.

“Alpha calm down! As far as I know her, I have never seen her with any man. How do you know that she has a husband?"

"How do I know? Of course I know! Since she bring along her daughter to the meeting! That's why she chose that fucking family restaurant except any other luxuries yet exclusive place." Rage took over me. I couldn't handle it. I was so attracted to the woman, but then felt heart broken into pieces seeing her daughter.

"Alright, I got it. But wait, let me try to find her background. Maybe we can get any useful information about her. Just sit here and keep your mind clear.” He tried to calm me down.

I leaned down on my chair. There was a war within my self whether I should reject her or not. But it meant that I would willingly become an unmated Alpha within my lifetime, since the second chance mate was a rare thing. MOON GODDESS IS REALLY JOKING RIGHT NOW! I slammed the desk in front of me. I could not control my self. The thought of her drove me crazy.

An hour later Danny came back to my room while handed a paper. It was Elena’s background, of course.

I read it. She was a widow with one child. Her husband left her when she was a three-month pregnant woman. Suddenly, I found my self angry. No one could hurt her! If I found his ex, I would absolutely kill him!

“She is a widow. So, it should be okay, right?"

I frowned, “No.”

“Why? I don’t see any problem.”

“Danny, the problem is her child. I detest them. I can’t deal with any child. Ever!”

“Hey, aren't you being irrational? Think again. You are an alpha, you need an heir to lead your pack in the future. How do you handle it if you don’t like children? Do you plan to not have any child with your mate? Please Alpha don't be kidding me.” His tone was serious.

I growled. “Shut up!”

“Take your time to think Alpha. You are finally found your mate. Don't waste what Mood Goddess gave you. Moon Goddess must have a reason why she paired you with her. Don’t ever try to reject her. You know a second chance mate is rare.”

“I said shut up!” I used my alpha tone. He was silent. “Go back to work.”

“Alright.” He bowed to me then walked to the door. But before he spun the doorknob, he said, “At least, give yourself a try!” Then he left.
