Meeting Again

Peter did nothing but stay behind because of her persistence. She is on a flight to Country P. Ivy's trying to sleep because she is tired, but her mind keeps replaying the possible scenarios, so she ended up staying awake the entire journey.

Ivy was considering how she would react if Edward and she met. "What am I supposed to say?

What should my reaction be? Should I avoid him or confront him? Most importantly, what if Grandpa is no longer alive?" These are the question that she needs to answer.

"Hays," She sighed once more before closing her eyes. Ivy was hoping for drowsiness, but it was just wishful thinking. After a long journey, She heard an announcement.

"Kindly fasten your seat belt because we are bound to arrive at County P!" On the plane, the flight attendant stated that. She had no choice but to remove her blindfold and fasten her seat belt.

When she looked out the window of the plane, she can see the bright sun contradicting with the season in County A which is winter, proving their separation. Ivy put on her sunglasses to conceal her eye bag which was caused by a lack of sleep and was accompanied by fatigue and stress.

Ivy immediately called a cab to take her to the hotel that Peter had reserved for her ahead of time. Ivy first considered checking into her room to change her clothes and freshen up. She doesn't want her Ex-husband to see her with a haggard look.

She took a shower and changed her clothes as soon as she arrived at the hotel. Ivy opted for a simple white shirt and denim jeans, which she paired with two-inch heel sandals. Because of the hot weather, she decided to tie her hair in a messy bun.

She put on light make-up to make her face appear less pale. Ivy also applied pink lipstick to her lips, which complements her simple but elegant look. Ivy was carrying her sling bag, which kept her wallet and phone. She put on sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sun and hailed a cab to the hospital where Grandpa was being treated.

When Ivy arrived at the hospital, the first thing she did was went straight to Grandpa's room. She didn't need to ask the receptionist because Peter had already told her everything she needed to know.

"Edward is inside!" Peter reminded her through a Bluetooth headset that is on her right ear.

"Do I need to come back?" Ivy whispered. She was standing at the door of Grandpa's room, unsure whether to enter or simply return later.

"It's up to you, but I don't think he intends to leave!'' Peter reminded her.

"Is there anyone else inside?" She inquired.

"Aunt Eden and Attorney Hexon," Peter replied, Ivy was still weighing her option when the door unexpectedly opened from the inside. She was suddenly startled and winced at the same time.

"Are you going to visit?" the old man asked. If she was not mistaken, it was Attorney Hexon that Peter told her.

He was staring at Ivy, then at the flowers and fruit, she was holding in both hands. Ivy had bought it earlier, before heading directly to the hospital.

"Who is that?" a woman asked sharply, and judging by the tone of her voice, it was Mommy Eden.

She was not sure if she should call her that because Edward and she are no longer married, as far as she knows. Since the lawyer is blocking the entrance, Ivy can't see who's inside, and they can't see her well either.

Ivy wanted to run away as soon as she heard Mom's voice, but she couldn't because her foot was stuck on the floor and couldn't move. Since the Attorney and Ivy did not respond to Eden's inquiry, Eden went to the door to see who the said visitor was. Attorney Hexon leaned slightly against the door to give them a clear view of the person they want to see. It was as if the entire world had come to a halt because Edward, who was fiddling with his phone on the sofa at the time, suddenly looked up and their eyes meet.

"Thump... Thump...!" Ivy's heart is racing as if it wants to leap and run in Edward's direction.

After two years of not seeing each other, Edward is still as handsome and elegant as before, but more mature. Although Ivy was still wearing sunglasses, she had the impression that Edward was staring directly into her eyes.

"Ivy, are you okay?" Peter asked her.

"Hmmm!" She replied, attempting to clear the blockage in her throat at the same time.

"Who are you?" Eden asked with confusion. It's a good thing she blocked Ivy's peripheral view of Edward that's why she recovered from her shock but before she could respond, Edward already answered.

"Let him in Mom!" He stated.

"Huh, you know him son?" Eden was puzzled. Ivy is not sure if her appearance has changed so much that Eden doesn't recognize her anymore. But she was curious why Edward nodded in agreement with his Mommy's question.

"Miss, please come in!" Attorney said, and since Edward has already given permission to get in, I did without introducing myself. Eden wasn't sure if she should ask or just let it go, so she just followed Ivy around with a look, trying to remember her.

Ivy no longer looked at Edward because her gaze was drawn to Grandpa Federico, who was lying on the bed with several tubes attached to his body. Before approaching him, she placed the flowers and fruits she was carrying on a nearby table. Ivy can't help but cry when she sees his condition.

"Hello, Paps. How are you doing?" Ivy inquired as she held his hands.

"Please take a seat!" Ivy didn't even realize Edward was so close to her until she heard him say it. Ivy just looks at the stool he's offering and sits without saying anything to him.

"We'll just leave first so you can speak freely with Grandpa." He said it again, and Ivy couldn't help but nod as she acknowledged his words. He patted her shoulder at the same time she was electrified with what he did and her heart started to beat again faster.
