"Hi. You're here again. How's it going?" Jake asks Juleka, who is sitting on the very same bench as two days ago on friday.
"Hey. I often come here. I feel close to nature here." Juleka greets him nervously, the green haired teen rolling over to her and taking the seat besides her, seeing her tense up subconsciously. "I'm gonna join your school tomorrow apparently." He informs her and is met with silence.
"I'm not here to trouble you. I just thought it'd be nice to have a friend before joining a new school." He tells her upon seeing her tense behavior.
"Sorry. I'm not really good with people. I get scared." Juleka confesses embarrassed.
"That's fine. You can take your time to get used to me." He says.
"Thank you." She replies happily.
"So what is all this drama about a teen weather girl?" Jake asks, seeing some posters of the two contestants around them.
"It's this big event where the people choose who they want as the weather girl for the year. And the two you're seeing on the posters are the finalists. Today they're actually going to announce the winner." Juleka tells him.
"Hmm I see." Jake says nodding his head.
"So, is there anything else you like to do besides draw?" Jake asks.
"Not publicly no." Juleka says.
"Now you've peaked my interest, what does that mean?" He asks with a smirk.
"Uhh, I ... I... I bake. For my family." Juleka says embarassed by his intense eye contact.
"And here I thought you had some naughty secret." Jake chuckles.
"Why would you think that?" She asks somewhat offended.
"I don't know you made your hobby sound dirty when you said not publicly." He chuckles.
"Oh, yes. I see how that could be misinterpreted." Juleka grins with a red hue on her cheeks.
"So, is there anything I need to know about school?" Jake asks.
"Just that you should stay away from Chloe she is a bully." Juelka says, gripping her sketchbook tightly, something Jake notices.
"Alright got it. How about I invi..." he starts to say until the akumatized weather girl contestant, calling herself Stormy weather shows up and starts to freeze everything in sight and getting ok her nerves.
"Watch out." Jake shouts, pulling Juleka with him to the floor when an ice beam shoots at their bank, freezing it over moments after they are off it.
"Juleka run. I'll draw her attention." Jake tells her, lightly pushing the girl towards the nearest exit of the park not in the direction of the akumatized girl.
While Juleka is rushing away Jake shouts up at the floating girl, "I bet you couldn't even predict the weather if the sun'd burn right through your umbrella."
"Hah, you'll regret that!" Stormy weather shouts angrily and fires an ice blast after Jake who takes off on his skateboard, disappearing from the public's view while dodging the attack.
Luckily for him Stormy weather focuses on the carousel on the other side of the park and creates an ice dome around it with it closing in on itself very slowly with two girls trapped inside, one around his age and the other appearing to be around 8.
"Dragon up Longg." Jake says, putting his right palm over the birthmark and is quickly transformed into a red, humanoid dragon.
When he jumps over the building he was transforming behind, he sees the akumatized girl fighting with the local heroes Ladybug and Cat Noir getting blown half across the neighborhood by Stormy Weather.
"Gotta follow them." Jake says and takes off after Stormy Weather who is heading to the heroes.
"So what's the plan Ladybug?" Cat noir asks, standing in the streets of Paris with her, looking up at their flying enemy.
"I don't know yet." She says.
"Then don't mind this cat trying his luck." Cat noir says, running on the side of a building on all fours and tries to tackle Stormy weather out of the air, but she sees him coming and
Twirls her umbrella infront of her, sending a blizzard at Cat noir, who gets picked out of the air by Jake before the chilly winds hit him.
"Who are you?" Cat noir asks, sailing through the air with Jake holding him under his arms.
"Just call me Dragon." Jake says, setting him down next to his partner.
"Where did you come from?" Ladybug asks surprised.
"Reserve questions for later alright?" Jake says, dodging an ice blast with the heroes.
"Fine. Now kitty let's do this." She says, tossing up her jojo with it transforming into a blanket.
"What now?" She asks confused, looking around until she sees Jake and he glows in a ladybug pattern to her.
"Ok. Here's the plan. You fly us close to her while we hide behind the blanket and catch her by surprise." Ladybug tells Jake, holding out the cloth.
"Fine. At least you look like lightweights." Jake agrees, taking the blanket and holds it in front of him while flying upwards, the two heroes jumping onto and hanging from his legs.
"What are you doing here? Are you also tasked by Hawkmoth?" Stromy Weather asks Jake, holding her large sun umbrella in front of her protectively.
"Maybe, why?" Jake says unfazed by her cautious stance.
"Because then we can take out those two pests together." She tells him, leaning her umbrella against her shoulder.
"Fine with me. Any idea where they are?" He asks, slowly lowering the fluttering blanket until dropping it with Cat noir and Ladybug jumping at the weather girl, kicking the umbrella in the air with Jake breathing a stream of fire at it, releasing the black butterfly in it.
Ladybug then catches the butterfly in her jojo and repairs the damage caused by Stormy Weather.
"Good bye little butterfly." Ladybug says, waving after the insect.
"I got it." Jake says, eating the moth with his mouth glowing a hot white once he has it in his mouth.
"Wha... what are you doing?" Cat noir asks shocked and a bit disgusted.
"They give power back to your enemy if you let them return." Jakw warns them.
"So, who are you anyways?" Ladybug asks before both their miraculous's beep and they excuse themselves, all of them heading back to the park.
"I'm glad I at least won't have to worry about loosing my transformation suddenly." Jake mentally tells his kwami.
"Yeah. We're the best partner." Longg replies proudly.
"Jake! You are alright. I was worried when you didn't return." Juleka says quietly, appearing around a corner with him sitting against the building he disappeared from.
"Uh she caught me and trapped me in an Ice cage. Luckily it seems those heroes beat her huh?" Jake says, getting up and walking towards the girl.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to sound bothersome." Juleka apologizes quietly, almost in a whisper.
"I don't think it's bothersome." Jake says with a grin, taking his skateboard and walks to the park's exit.
"See you tomorrow I guess." Jake tells Juleka when the two are awkwardly standing at the park's gate.
"Yeah. See you." She whispers after gathering her nerves for a moment but he's already gone when she gets it out.
"Juleka. I thought it was you. What are you doing here?" Marinette asks.
"Drawing until the attack. You?" Juleka replies.
"I uhh... took my sister to the park." Marinette says, looking at Adrien, almost drooling.
"I see. I have to go now. See you tomorrow." Juleka says quietly and leaves, Marinette barely noticing her disappearance, making Juleka sigh disappointed on her way home.
"My. Such a young girl and sighing? What troubles you? Are you unwell?" An old chinese man says, stepping out of a store for asian healing and medicine to clean his stores sign.
"I'm of no importance." Juleka only sighs disappointed and is about to leave when Jake steps out of the store.
"Gramps, where did you leave the mop? How am I supposed to help you... Oh Juleka, what're you doing here?" Jake says surprised.
"Nothing." She says stiffly, turning away from him embarrassed.
"It's under the staircase Jake." His grandfather says and Jaks goes back in the shop.
"So you are Juleka? Well I have to tell you then, you have made my life easier, so you do matter young girl." Jake's grandfather tells her.
"We never met before." She says confused.
"But until he met you Jake was unhappy about the move and angry at me and his parents." The man tells her with a kind smile.
"I... I gotta go." Juleka quickly says and excuses herself.
|the next day at school|
"Let's give our new student a warm welcome." A teacher says, with Jake standing in front of the for him rather small class.
"Hi. I'm Jake Long. I just moved here from America." Jake says waving at the class relaxed before walking past the students to an empty seat.
"Wow. America, that's far away." Alya says intrigued.
"Yeah." He simply says, taking out a book for the class.
"Alright class. You'll have enough time to get to know your new classmates during the break." The teacher then tells the class and continues with her lesson.
An hour later the class is finished with their first lesson and many of the students swarm Jake to strike a conversation up with him.
"So how do you like Paris so far? We can show you around town if you'd like." Nino tells him.
"Uh thanks. I'll keep it in mind." He replies, before looking at Juleka's back with her quietly sitting in her chair.
"That's Juleka. Don't take it to heart. She's shy." Mylene tells him.
"I know. We met before actually." Jake says.
"So, you are the new guy huh? Well so far I'm not impressed." Chloe says degradingly, standing in front of his table with the class looking at her disappointed.
"You don't even know me yet. But I guess that comment means you're Chloe." Jake says.
"Yeah. Chloe Bourgeois and don't forget it." She replies before walking away with her follower.
"Don't mind her. Barely anyone can stand her. She's the major's daughter and he pampers her however he can." Marinette tells Jake.
"Anyways. I'm Marinette. That's Rose, Mylene, Ivan, Alya, Alix, Max, Adrien and Kim." The blue haired girl introduces herself and her friends.
"Nice to meet you all." He says.
"Guys, you have to see this." A kid from another class then shouts, telling them to go out of the room.
While most of the class leaves Jake sits down next to Juleka, asking "So why are you avoiding me?"
"I'm not." She says timidly.
"You are. And I would like to know why." Jake says.
"I'm shy." She whispers.
"I figured that much." He tells her.
"I'm sorry. If I told everyone we know each other I would be questioned and I don't want the attention. It makes me uneasy." Juleka tells him apologetically.
"That's fine. I understand. I would like it if we can hang out again though." He tells her, deciding if he should brush over her hand but lets his hand drop down next to hers, deciding to leave it be.
"I would like that too." She says after gathering her nerves and touches his hand with her pinky.
