"Is everyone present?" The PE teacher asks the gathered students, receiving a nod from the respective class representatives.
"Very well. I welcome you all to this years sports festival. The sports festival will take place as it does every year. We start with some chosen Olympic disciplines before getting to the 100 meter dash and finally everyone will do a 3 km run to the park across the majors hall and back." The teacher announces, getting excited cheers and groans alike from the classes.
"I've only been here a week and already have to take part in a sports competition?" Jake asks himself quietly, looking his new class heading to their first sport, the long jump.
"I... think you will do fine." Juleka says quietly after gulping nervously.
"Thanks Jules." Jake says with a smile.
"I told you not to call me that." She complains blushing at the nickname.
"Why not though? I think it suits you very well." Jake replies.
"My name is Juleka." She says with a pout.
"Fine. I won't call you Jules anymore, it's a shame though, it made me think that we're close." Jake tells her before it's his turn and he jumps, scoring an average result. Juleka who was behind him is next and doesn't perform that well.
"You still have two tries left." Jake tells her when he sees her disappointed.
"What's the point? I'm not strong, or fast or sporty." Juleka sighs.
"Come on cheer up Jules...ka, sorry. Just try your best alright." He says.
"Who is that green haired guy?" A muscular student from another class asks, seeing Jake act familiar with Juleka, the girl he has a crush on.
"Jake. He joined the school a week ago after coming to Paris from somewhere in America." His friend informs him.
"You are tasked with grouping up the classes, right?" He asks, getting a nod positive.
"Put us with them for shot put. I'll teach him who's boss." The guy says.
About 20 minutes later their classes group up for shot put, standing side by side lined up.
"Hello Juleka." The muscular teen greets the goth girl, wearing the schools PE uniform, consisting of knee long black shorts and a white short sleeved shirt.
"Hello Lucas." She replies quietly.
"How about you watch me and see me blow everyone else out of the competition just for you?" He flirts, catching Jake's attention.
"Just do your best I think you will do well." Juleka replies, not replying to his flirting.
"How about you give me a good luck kiss then." He asks, stepping closer to her, the two being side by side in the lines.
"How about you go before me. I can give you some pointers if I see what you're doing." Jake tells Juleka, walking behind her and pushing her one spot up, Lucas's flirting getting on his nerves since he also likes Juleka, not that he'd tell her that after only knowing her for a week.
"Hah, you help Juleka with her technique. I doubt a weakling like you will do better than the girls." Lucas taunts him, the two almost being up to throw.
After Juleka and someone from the other class had their turn Jake and Lucas take their positions and toss the heavy ball onto the sand pit, Jake's throw landing about 20 cm further than Lucas's.
When they take their position at the back of the group again Lucas tries to get a rise out of Jake again, who only ignores him and instead is trying to focus on helping Juleka, giving her some advise.
After the boys second attempt the results haven't changed and Lucas temper gets the best of him a few minutes later during their last attempt, where after Jake threw his ball onto the sand pit again Lucas instead pretends to slip on his foot and aims the ball at Jake, hitting the unsuspecting teen against his arm, making him hold the arm in pain while glaring at Lucas.
"Jake are you alright? Come on let me take you to the nurses office." Juleka says, having seen the hit while she was waiting with the rest of their class.
"Yeah, thanks." Jake says, following her to the nurse's office.
"So, are you really worried about me or only using the chance to skip the sports festival?" Jake asks with a chuckle while they wait for the nurse to return with an icepack.
"A bit of both I suppose. How are you feeling?" She replies, taking his hand for support.
"It's fine. I just don't know why that dude is so angry at me. I only wanted him to leave you alone." Jake says.
"What, you think he did it on purpose?" Juleka asks shocked.
"Probably. I don't know." Jake says, shrugging his shoulder.
Soon after the teacher comes back and gives Jake the ice pack.
"Juleka you can go back to the festival. Jake should be fine in a few days he'll only have a bruise for a couple days." The teacher says.
"Can I stay and keep him company?" Juleka asks.
"That's fine with me. It might be a good idea honestly, since I gave him something for the pain and I have to go oversee a category now anyways. Just keep the spot iced for now Jake." The teacher agrees and leaves the two alone.
"One could almost think you really are worried." Jake teases Juleka who looks in her lap, sitting across from him.
"I am worried. And I'm sorry about Lucas. We went on a date once but it was a total disaster and I told him I'm not interested in another one, but ever since it feels like he thinks of me as his girlfriend." Juleka informs Jake.
"Do you want me to help make it clear to him?" Jake offers, looking at her.
"What so you mean?" She asks confused.
"Well, I could ask him to stop annoying you, or I could repeat you shooting him down or... I could do this in front of him." Jake says, taking her hands carefully and pulls her onto one of his legs, making her sit there while he brushes through her hair, pulling the colored bang from in front of her eye to behind her ear.
"Stop joking around." Juleka says embarrassed, getting off his leg while blushing deep red.
"Who said I'm joking? Maybe the nurses pills only make me speak my mind?" Jake says grinning.
Unnoticed by them Lucas spotted their interaction through a window and a black butterfly soon lands on his headband, enveloping him in a black substance before he's changed, wearing black training clothes while his skin is plain white, devoid of any color and he has multiple miniature sports equipments hanging from across his chest.
"Akuma!" The students start shouting and try to flee, but Lucas, now calling himself sportifier has already used his new power to make the sports shoes on the teens do his bidding, making them faceplant into the sand pit and other tricks before he heads to the infirmary, loudly saying "Oh Juleka, where are you?"
"Come on." Jake quickly tells the girl and opens the window in the room, hopping out of the second story window and looks up to the scared Juleka peering outside.
"I will catch you. Trust me." Jake says, staring up at her worriedly.
Juleka takes a deep breath before hopping down into Jake's waiting arms and the two run away, Jake telling her to run away from the school while he stays behind to distract Lucas.
Juleka seemingly does as he suggests, but feels guilty and worries about him, coming back to where they parted ways only to see him transform into the red humanoid dragon that made the news a week ago.
"Jake is the dragon?" She whispers to herself surprised and hides herself behind in an alleyway nearby.
"Just give up. Sport is my best subject." Cat noir tells the transformed Lucas cockily, arriving on the gym's roof with Ladybug.
"You pests. Hawkmoth wants your Miraculous so give them to me or I'll make you train until you puke." Sportifier tells the heroes and flicks a medicine ball at them, the ball taking on its actual weight and size mid-flight.
Cat noir gets the wind knocked out of him by the ball while Ladybug dodged the attack gracefully.
"What did I miss guys?" Jake asks, flying to the area behind the gym.
"You again. How come you pop up so suddenly?" Ladybug asks.
"It's a gift." Jake replies, looking at their enemy curiously.
"Careful he controls training equipment." Ladybug tells Jake.
"Well, little does he know PE is my best subject." Jake chuckles, making Ladybug facepalm at the dragon rushing Sportifier head on much like Cat noir intended. While flying towards Lucas, the akumatized teen throws a couple toothpicks at Jake, which enlarge into javelins, heading right at the dragon.
Jake dodges them by closing his wings and diving down to just above the ground, gliding close to the ground, untouched by the Javelins.
When he reaches Lucas Jake punches him across his face, making him fly into a wall. Once out of the wall he sees Jake approaching him and quickly tosses down a treadmill.
Jake, having to run on the device not to get thrown off, giving Lucas the opportunity to kick Jake into the face, making him fall backwards.
"Lucky charm." Ladybug shouts, tossing up her jojo and gets a balance board.
"Hey sportifier, show us your skill on this." Ladybug says, tossing down the item in front of the teen, who cockily steps on it, almost falling over due to his lack of finesse.
While he's on the balance board Lucas has to look down, giving Jake the opportunity to knock off the teens headband, sending it flying to Cat noir who uses his cataclysm to reduce it to dust, the black butterfly escaping the pile only to get caught by Ladybug and turned white, after which Jakes devours it before leaving without another word.
"He's weird." Cat noir scoffs looking after the flying dragon.
"But he's helping us." Ladybug says.
"At least that's true." Cat noir says, before their miraculous beep simultaneously, the two fist bumping before taking off in opposite directions.
After turning back Jake goes looking for Juleka.
"Juleka? You can come out now. Juleka?" Jake shouts, walking down the street he separated from her.
Juleka then walks out from her hiding place.
"Jake. What happened? Did Ladybug and Cat noir beat him?" Juleka asks nervously.
"Yeah. I didn't even have to distract Lucas. They were so quick." Jake says.
"That's a relief." She lies with her voice breaking.
"You OK?" Jake asks her worriedly.
"Yeah. Fine, thanks." Juleka says, before walking past him, leaving behind a confused looking Jake.
