The Hero And The Beauty

"No...!" I screamed. As my long black hair fluttered in the wind, I did a backflip onto the aisle of the plane. I stretched my left hand to my waist and drew the sword from its scabbard. Fly forward and aim the sword at the person in front of me. My white robe fluttered in the wind, and I swung my sword towards the man. My sword cut the man in half, and two other martial artists ran towards me with their swords, swinging their swords left and right, but I blocked their double sword attacks.

Then just as I was dodging the combo sword attack, an energy beam shot from a distance, and I did two backflips to the ground, but another sword light hit my chest. The energy ray made me slide out a few feet, spitting out a mouthful of blood. I slowly got up, wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth, and the martial artists rushed forward surrounding me and my dead wife.

Officer Li looked at me angrily, "Jig! You can stop now; what you did is wrong."

My tears rolled down and I said, "Wrong? How is this wrong?"

Black stepped forward and said, "The rule of Wulin, you must treat the teacher as a parent."

I laughed.

"Um... shouldn't he be laughing too loudly?"

Black turned and asked the martial artist, "Why?"

"He could cause an avalanche."

"True." One of the martial artists nodded. "We are on the bottom of the mountain and the echoes from his laughter could cause an avalanche."

"I've heard that a little noise can make the snow crumble down on us."

"We are martial artists, and we shouldn't be afraid of such trivial matters."

"Yeah…that's right."

"Why do you care? We are martial artists. If there is an avalanche, we can fly out of here on our swords."

"So…you mean…what? Really, I thought this only happened in xianxian story?"

Officer Li looked at the muttering martial artists and sneered. He said, "It can happen in any story. Seriously, as long as everyone agrees. There are no set rules for a fantasy-based universe. O.M.G..." He smiled at the martial artists.

As the sound of a soft flute melody could be heard in the distance, and the wind blew across the snow-covered ground, making the blood on the white ground flow down like a river of blood. I hold my beloved Xiao Lan in my arms. Tears wet my eyes, I looked down at Xiao Lan's pale face, tears fell and landed on his face. I slowly wiped the tears from Xiao Lan's beautiful pale face. I looked at Black, who was standing on the other side, not far from me in his yellow and red monk uniform.

I asked angrily, "Why did you kill Xiao Xiao?"

Black looked at me and said, "As your uncle, I would rather kill Xiao shifu than let you marry her. She is your shifu, and you must treat her as your mother. Nephew, trust uncle, I did everything for you." Black sighed. "You can marry anyone, but not her. You can marry my daughter, and you will have my full support." He pointed to Yaya, who stood beside him. "I already knew she liked you very much."

I burst into tears and said, "Uncle Black, I treat Yaya as my sister. No matter who I marry in the future, my partner will not be her."

Officer Li pointing his sword at me and said, "Wu Jig, you better listen to your uncle. He is a respected martial artist in Wulin. He raised you."

I looked up at Black and said, "Uncle Black, I don't deny that you raised me, I know that without you, I would never have a place in Wulin, but my love for shizun is real, and I can't deny it. Since…" I glanced at Xiao Lan's face again. "Since my shizun is dead, I should die by her side..."

I picked up the sword, put it around my neck, and cut my throat, but no matter how hard I tried, the blood from my neck didn't come out. I looked up at the many martial artists surrounding me.

I said, "Um…there is no blood."

Officer Li said, "Maybe, you need to cut in the opposite direction."

The other martial artists standing began to suggest how I should slit my own throat, and even a wandering xia offer to demonstrate, but all the advice seemed to be in vain. Suddenly, a pale hand grabbed the hilt of the sword, and I turned my head to see who had such a beautiful and slender pale hand. As soon as I turned my head, I stared straight at the ghost lady's dark brown eyes.

"Let me help." She slit my throat.

I don't feel pain, but I can't breathe. I gasped, gagged my mouth, and started coughing violently. I looked up at Black in disbelief, and I mean what the hell happened, the heroes never die because they're the protagonists of the story. If they die, then the story is over. I cleared my throat because there was no blood. I said, "Hey, cut...cut...cut. This shouldn't happen, the protagonist shouldn't die. Only the villain dies in any story. Redo... come on, let's redo…c'mon people... let's redo. I'm not sure why everyone is always saying what is not on the scripts, gosh!" I stood up.

Black slowly retracted his sword and said, "Okay, shall we start over?"

I said, "Yes, go back to your side, over there." I pointed to the many martial artists. "You go there and redraw your sword. Guys, stick to the script."

I looked at the martial artists who went back to stand in their original spot, and I said, "Action!"

I asked hatefully, "Why did you kill Xiao Xiao?"

Black looked at me and said, "As your uncle, I would rather kill Xiao Xiao than let you marry him. He is your shifu, you must treat and respect him as if he is your father. Nephew, trust uncle, what I did I did everything for you." Black sighed. "If you don't like women, you can marry my son." He pointed to Yaya who stood beside him. "I already knew he liked you very much."

I burst into tears and said, "Uncle Black, I treat Yaya as my elder brother. No matter who I marry in the future, my partner will not be him."

Officer Li pointed his sword at me, "Wu Jig, you should listen to your uncle. He is a respected martial artist in Wulin. What you do is shameful. No martial artist will recognize you, if you insist on walking down the path of unorthodoxy."

Officer Lu walked towards me with a horse whip and said, "Benefactor Wu, you are a very talented young man. I know that you will have a great impact on other people's lives in the future. If you walk down the unorthodox path, your good name will be forever smeared."

I looked at Black and the others gathered around me. I know these people around me don't care about me at all, all they care about is separating the person I love the most from me.

I looked up and said, "Uncle Black, although you are not my biological father, I regard you as an elder." I looked at Black madly. "You killed Xiao Xiao without caring about my feelings at all! A Life for a life." I stood up and drew my sword. "Today, only one of us will walk out of here alive."

I rushed towards the many martial artists standing in front of me. They also drew swords and preparers to counter me.

Black said, "No matter what bad things he did, as his uncle, today, I will punish him, and I will not let him hurt anyone."

Black dashed forward with his sword drawn and collided with mine. Two swords clanked softly, and snowflakes fluttered around us. My sword suddenly shattered into pieces, and Black put his sword at my throat.

Black said, "Today, I will destroy your eternal energy and abolish you." He looked at me madly. He raised his right hand to destroy my accpoints.

Then as soon as it appeared, I was suddenly pulled back from the screen, and I was alone in a big cinema with a bag of popcorn, watching TV while eating.

I reached for the soda on the cup holder, but instead of grabbing the soda, I touched a soft hand. I slowly shifted my eyes down my hand, and I saw my hand was on top of a black and blue rotting hand. I heard yellow pus dripping onto the concrete floor. I cannot see much in the dark cinema. I slowly retracted my hand and suddenly stood up. I saw the ghost lady staring at me in her traditional yellow Vietnamese dress.

She shouted frantically, "His time is running out!"

I shouted back, "I don't want to see your rotting flesh. Get away from me! Get away from me!" I moved quickly to the other side of the cinema wall. "Don't come any closer... I've done my best. Stay away! Stay away!"

Hearing a soft sob, I finally opened my eyes. I saw that ghost lady standing in front of me, not black and blue, nor a rotting body, but with teary eyes and open arms, pleading, "Please hurry up, he's out of time..." I watched her bloody tears flow from her eyes. "Please..." She gets closer and closer to me. "Please..."
