Twisted Fate

"What is taking Aria so long to come back?" Jay said pacing around the lounge.

"I really hope this isn't some sort of sick joke... we buried Aphrodite to get a flower to complete this, if it doesn't work then why did we bury her?" Moira asked. Just then there was a knock at the door. Jay looked over.

"Could it be Aria?" He asked.

"I hope, but I'll go see," Indah said, she got up walked over to the door and opened it she squealed. "She's back!!" Indah said super excited to see Aria, she wrapped Aria in a huge hug.

"Indah! Oh my god, it feels so good to be alive, I see we are missing two people since I have last been alive, what happened while I was gone?" Aria asked walking into the lounge.

"Well, Aphrodite turned on me and got Indah and Eliza to vote me and Thiago into a challenge, the sorceresses daughter froze Thiago into an ice statue and I kinda killed her also we buried Aphrodite since she got both you and Thiago killed, but other than that uhm nothing else has happened," Jay explained.

"Wow... I was given this when I was sent back here," Aria said holding up a piece of paper, she then read it. "To begin the five of you must go to the lighthouse and complete the three games that are in the grotto, but beware a mermaid is lurking in the waters," Moira looked outside.

"My god... we are on an island, and I see the lighthouse over there!" Moira said and she pointed to the beach.

"Well then, let's go to the lighthouse," Elizabeth said as she stood up from the couch. Everyone walked over to the lighthouse and tried the door handle.

"Either one it's stuck... or two we need a key," Jay said. Aria walked over and jiggled the handle and pulled it open.

"It was stuck," Aria responded with a grin on her face.

"Show off," Jay said walking into the lighthouse.

"The grotto will probably need a key since the front door was unlocked," Moira said.

"Ok I'll go try the door and if it doesn't open I'll join you guys at the top," Indah said walking down the stairs to the grotto.

Moira's POV: Eliza, Jay, Aria, and I went to the Lantern room to find the key to the grotto, Jay saw the beacon button and pressed it the beacon didn't move.

"Ok so to get the key, we probably need to figure out how to get the beacon to spin," Jay said. I saw a note on the beacon, I grabbed it and read it.

"To get the key to the grotto, you need to get the beacon working... before the ship hits the rocks, the ship will arrive at the island in thirty minutes."

"Right, let's figure out how this beacon will work before the ship hits the rocks," Aria said. Indah came up the stairs.

"Ok... the door is locked, what do we have to do?" She asked.

"We need to fix the beacon before the ship hits the rocks," Eliza told Indah.

"There is a panel on the side of the control panel, I think we need to find a screwdriver and open it," Jay said.

"I saw a screwdriver on the stairs while coming up here... I'll be right back," Indah said and she ran down the stairs, after a minute or so she came back up screwdriver in hand. She ran over to the panel and screwed the screws out. "That's the problem, the wires are messed up." I walked over and figured out what we had to do.

"Ok so... the blue wire is connected to the red one, the green is to the blue the yellow isn't even connected to anything and the red wire is connected to the yellow one, are there any wire cutters?" I asked figuring out how this thing needs to be rewired.

"How much time is left?" Indah asked. Aria looked at the clock on the wall.

"About fifteen minutes," She responded we heard the ship's horn. Jay grabbed the wire cutters on top of a box and handed them to me, I cut the wires and rewired them so they were all perfect, the green to the green, the red to the red, and so on and so forth. Jay hit the button and the beacon lit up. A box popped open behind Eliza, she screamed.

"What's in it?" Jay asked. Eliza stuck her hand in and pulled out the key.

"It's the key to the grotto!" She said, we all ran down the stairs to the grotto Eliza put the key in the door and pushed it open, standing in front of us was the scariest mermaid I'm pretty sure I have ever seen.

No POV:

"You must complete my puzzles one in each room, the viewing deck the storage room and the main room, you need to stand in the elevator at the end of the hallway and it will spit you out onto one of the floors, you need to find the key to the box in that room, every five minutes I will come into a room and take one of you to the closet in the hall... Jay, you are first," She said. Jay walked down the hallway and got in the elevator.

Jay's POV: I got spit out onto the viewing deck, and after a little while Indah came into the viewing deck too.

"What do we have to do?" She asked me.

"Uhm it says feed the fish for your next clue," I responded.

"Is there any fish food around here?" She asked.

"There might be... OH, it's on the tea table next to that chair," I said pointing to the food. Indah ran over and grabbed the food, she put some food in the fish tank, and then a cabinet underneath the tank opened. Indah read it.

"The key lies in the watery depths of the ocean... what does that mean?"

"I have no clue, is there a painting of an ocean in here?" I asked.

"I don't think so." She responded. Then the mermaid came into the room Indah and I ran, the mermaid was faster and grabbed Indah. I also ran back to the elevator because I couldn't figure that room out and then I got spit out in the main room, I then saw an ocean painting in that room, I grabbed the painting and took it off the wall behind it was the key to the viewing deck box, there were also holes in the wall and I saw Aria, Moira, and Elizabeth in the storage room, I ran over to the other wall and shoved the key through it to the viewing deck.

"Aria!! The key to the box probably won't be in the storage room!" I yelled through the hole,

"How do you know that!?" She asked.

"I found the key to the viewing deck in the main room!" I responded.

Moira's POV: I got the storage room, and I noticed boxes everywhere, I grabbed a box cutter from the workbench-looking thing, and then Aria came into the room.

"Grab a box cutter we have to find whatever it is in these boxes," I told her she grabbed a box cutter from the workbench too and started opening boxes, I dumped out like five different boxes before I found something. Then Eliza came through the elevator.

"I couldn't figure out the main room by myself," She said.

"Grab a box cutter and help us find the thing that we need," Aria said. Eliza grabbed a box cutter and started cutting open the box, we heard Indah scream meaning she got grabbed by the mermaid.

"It has been five minutes already?" Eliza asked.

"I guess," I said, then we heard Jay's voice, he said that the key to our box wouldn't be in the storage room.

"How do you know that?" Aria asked.

"Because I found the key to the viewing deck in here... meaning the key to the main room is in the storage room and the key to the storage is in the viewing deck," He responded. We wanted to get out of the grotto so we did the tasks as fast as we could I opened a box and got a key, I shoved it through the hole in the wall to Jay he grabbed the key and opened the box, then the mermaid came into the storage room and grabbed Aria. "Did Aria get taken!?" Jay asked.

"Yeah!" Eliza responded. Eliza got in the elevator and went to the viewing deck to put the key in the box and to find the storage room key.

Eliza's POV: Jay went into the elevator after me and also came out in the viewing deck, we were reading all of the things on the walls when he noticed a word was misspelled.

"Definitely... it has an extra n," He said. I wrote N on a piece of paper, we then went around the room finding the misspelled words.

"Closet doesn't have an o!" I said finding the closet. Jay wrote down o on the paper, Jay found welcome without a w and an e, I wrote down W and E on the paper. I saw that.

"Wait N, O, W, and E, what word has that in it?" Jay asked.

"Moira!" I yelled.

"What!?" She yelled back.

"It's the workbench! Check the workbench!" I yelled. The mermaid came into the room and Jay and I ran. She grabbed Jay though. "Moira, did you get the key?" I asked frantically wanting out of the grotto.

"I got it!" She said and unlocked the storage room box. We both ran to the elevator and we got in it. We went back to the lounge.

No POV: Moira and Eliza went back to the lounge and were greeted by Julia.

"Ahh, welcome back to the lounge," She said.

"What do we do now?" Eliza asked.

"You will vote on two that failed to complete the puzzles," Julia responded. "Discuss please."

"I can't vote Jay or Aria... Aria just came back from the dead it wouldn't make sense to put her life in danger, and with Jay, I just can't it would hurt my soul to put him in a death challenge," Moira explained.

"But you voted him into the very first death challenge," Eliza told Moira.

"That was one time... ONE!" Moira said. "Vote whoever I'm voting Indah." Moira went up and voted Indah, Eliza went next and voted. The mermaid brought everyone back to the lounge.

"I am going to stay here until I know who is going into the Hydra's challenge," She said.

"Oh god... the hydra?" Aria said with a concerned look on her face.

"The first one in the challenge is... Indah," Julia said.

"Girl I'm sorry... I can't with this voting anymore it's hurting me," Moira said. Indah hugged Moira.

"It's fine, you did what you had to," Indah responded.

"The next guest in the challenge is... Jay."

"Ugh... damnit," Jay said.

"You two follow me, back to the grotto," The mermaid said. Jay and Indah went back to the grotto.

Indah's POV: "Good luck Jay... may the best survive," I said. The mermaid handed Jay a note and he read it.

"You each will start in the viewing deck be the first to complete all three rooms, the first to do so will awaken the Hydra to kill the other guest, good luck only one will make it out alive."

"Well no duh one of us is going to die it's a death challenge," I said. Jay and I hugged probably for the last time, and then we started and I ran into the elevator it spit us out on the viewing deck, and Jay started looking at all the walls, to see if anything was misspelled, turns out there wasn't anything misspelled.

"There isn't anything that tells us what to do, I am so confused," Jay said. Then I pointed out that there was a plaque on the wall, and I went to mine and he went to his. The plaque read; Our brother was sent to the woods by our parents, and I think he is here in the grotto at the bottom of the pool. Jay and I ran to the pool and we grabbed the goggles put them on and dove into the water, there was this mannequin-looking thing and it looked like a child, and it was chained to the ground. Jay swam over to a corner and found a key so I did the same, I grabbed the key and swam over to the chain, I went up for a breath of air and swam back down. Then I started working on unlocking the chains, it was taking forever going up for a breath of air then going back down to try and unlock it again. Jay got his child free and then we heard the mermaid over the loudspeaker.

"Looks like you have completed a room move forward." Jay swam out of the pool and got in the elevator, I then got mine free and I booked it to the elevator, it then spit me out in the main room.

Jay's POV: I was so far ahead until Indah came into the room, I read the back of a painting, and I figured out what I had to do really quickly. I had to go around my side ripping the paintings off the wall until I got a second clue, I ripped off a painting of the sunset which was beautiful, I then ripped off an ad for something, after that, I ripped off three other paintings before I got the clue. It read; The key to the vent lies waiting for those who have lost their soul in the forest. I thought of Thiago when I read that, I ran over to the fish tank and saw there were different tarot cards in the water, I picked one up and it was Veronica, I flipped it over and saw there were words on the back. I then grabbed all the cards, Odette, Thiago, Aphrodite, and Carlos, I placed them all on the table face down, Indah was still ripping things off the wall so I was pretty far ahead. I then rearranged the cards on how I thought they went it is said; look in the elevator for the vent key, I ran back to the elevator looked in every corner and I felt the key, I pried it from the place it sat and then ran back to the vent I shoved the key in and twisted it the vent popped open and I grabbed the note inside. Over the loudspeaker, the mermaid said I completed a room again.

"Sorry, Indah!" I said running back to the elevator. I went in and went to the final room the storage room.

No POV: Indah was trying to decode the message from the tarot cards, Jay was just getting in the storage room, and he read his clue, it said; Open the boxes with the box cutter on the workbench, to find the figurine that will summon the Hydra. Jay started opening boxes, and then he realized there is no way it could be that easy just open boxes and find the figurine, so he started looking on the shelves under the workbench and then he looked behind the workbench and found the figurine, Indah just walked into the storage room.

"Indah... I am so sorry I found the figurine, and I need to summon the Hydra," Jay said. Indah hugged him.

"It was nice being your friend," She responded. Jay and Indah walked into the elevator and placed the figurine on the podium, there was a ground-shaking roar and they walked out of the lighthouse and read the note that was on the door.

"The sad news in both of you are going to live, now get back to the lounge before I change my mind," Indah read Jay grabbed the Hydra's head and started their journey towards the lounge.

Moira's POV: Eliza, Aria, and I heard this groundbreaking roar.

"Hurry get outside, something is coming," Julia said very ominously. When we all went outside we saw the Hydra and he was coming for us and the lounge.

"What the hell is going on?" I asked.

"Where are Jay and Indah?" Aria asked. The Hydra then grabbed Eliza and tied her to one of the posts on the lounge, he then set both Eliza and the lounge ablaze. Eliza was screaming as her body heated up. The Hydra then went back into the ocean and returned to his slumber. Both Jay and Indah came back from the lighthouse shocked.

"What happened to the lounge?" Jay asked.

"The hydra happened, he grabbed Eliza and tied her to one of the posts like a doll and burned both her and the lounge," Aria told them. I was so confused why was Jay and Indah alive but Eliza is dead.

"What happened?" I asked.

"There was this thing that told us that both of us got to live and the Hydra would kill the person who voted the winner," Jay said.

"So Eliza voted you and you won so she was killed... but now we don't have a lounge," Aria responded.

"I have furniture stashed in the attic of the trophy room, in case something like this happened," Julia told us. We all walked into the trophy room and Jay placed the Hydra head on a trophy holder below, Eliza's Painting.
