Calm before the storm

Not much soon, Thelamia made a frown. Truly, the Goddess was devastated in her saddened thoughts,

"Nearis huh. I wonder why they see her as the true Goddess."

The air became tense.

Her ears sensed the rushing footsteps from a lot of people. When she turned around, she saw a crowd of rumor-mongerers such as a scene was going on,

"What's going on over there?"

Genocide just crossed his arms,

"Why don't we find out?"

They followed the crowd that lead them back to the mindnight plaza. Thereon, the commotion was larger than they've expected. Through their eyes, they witnessed that they witnessed Julieth was shackled by the knights. More so, the real elders who were crooked old men wearing robes were furious at her.

"Mom!"

Genocide couldn't believe his eyes, and sprinted to his Goddess mother. When he was about to approach Julieth, the knights made a blockade upon his passage.

He grit his teeth and rage surged throughout his face,

"What's going on here elders?!"

The elder pointed at him,

"If you didn't know lord Genocide, your mother the queen, POISONED the supreme Generia!"

Genocide and Thelamia saw that Zero was unconscious down on the ground, while crimson wine was leaking from his mouth.

Julieth refuted expressively,

"YOU'RE WRONG! I DIDN'T POISON MY BELOVED! AND WHY WOULD I—!"

Her mouth was muffled by a cloth in order to silence her.

One of the elders became even more furious,

"SHUT UP SERPENT!"

Then, he returned his composure,

"Honestly, this is what we'd get from trusting the Goddess of destruction. She'll use any means necessary to accomplish her vile goals."

Then, another elder joined in,

"And also, she had accomplices who put us to sleep and and tempted our king to do their bidding."

He snapped his fingers afterwards. There, the other Goddess companions were revealed in chains behind her as well. Rumors spread amongst the bustling crowd, as they were agreeing to the statements of the elders.

Julieth struggled with tears,

"Please my son! Believe me! I wouldn't even dare to poison the one I love!"

Genocide took witness of his pleading mother who had a soulful look towards him. He just looked down and gripped his hat in response.

Though, not much soon, he masked a grin and just laughed as he was a crazy maniac,

"GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHA!"

The citizens felt terrifying vibes from Genocide's laughter such as he was an insane man.

Even Thelamia was frightened of Genocide's reaction and just assumed in her thoughts that the stage has been set,

"No, don't tell me...Geno wanted to be an overlord in the end."

Sooner or later, he stopped laughing and just facepalmed,

"Honestly, who would even believe that farce of yours elders."

Whe she heard those words of sense from him, she had stopped worrying, especially in her thoughts,

"Phew, I thought it was the son who will become the overlord scheme again."

Genocide crossed his arms,

"While it's true that you INGRATES were put to slumber..."

He spread his hands and presented the people,

"Look at the kingdom and people now! They are more content and prosperous than ever! Without you guys in control."

The citizens nodded aided with smiles of intense determination, as they agreed to the words of the prince.

The elders felt that they were at a disadvantage so they returned the favor and brewed disarray among the crowd once more,

"Yet with the death of the king and betrayal of the queen, I'm sure the people are enraged about that."

Wrath didn't spread, but the citizens had the look of mourning and sorrow.

Genocide just tipped his hat,

"About mom poisoning dad? Well, why don't we let my dad prove it? Since he was goven the drink."

Everyone was just speechless by the words of his. Even the innocent Goddess Thelamia herself couldn't put the piece of the puzzle regarding his words,

"Geno? What do you mean? Everybody here could see Zero's dead."

One of the elders reached his peak,

"What do you mean?! Can't you see it with your own eyes that the king isndead before you?!"

Genocide swayed his daring hand,

"Then, I'll prove it to you! That my dad is just sleeping!"

The elders were just puzzled,

"How?"

His hands presented Thelamia with overflowing grandeur,

"BY THE POWER OF THE CREATION GODDESS THELAMIA! SHE WILL CURE THE KING AND PROVE YOU WRONG!"

"EHHHHHHH!?"

Thelamia couldn't believe of what she had heard. The chained Goddesses just made woos and praises of sarcasm,

"Well, that was very unexpected."

"For a minute, I thought we were gonna have another, son betrays his father to become the real overlord scheme again."

Though, the people's murmurs seemed to agree with Genocide's ideal suggestion.

That sudden moment, Thelamia scooted behind the overconfident Genocide,

"Ummm Geno? I don't even know how to wake someone up."

He whispered back,

"Just trust me Thamy."

Thelamia just stomped the ground as she was a an irritated teenager,

"Alright geez! Just don't let me do any silly dancing!"

Genocide grinned,

"Nahhh, you won't be doing any of that. In fact, you'll do something even better."

He gave her a thumbs up.

The only thing Thelamia could do was to sigh and follow his directions. Even though she already knew that he'll let her do something offensive, she still put her trust in him.

The elders talked it out within their circle, but soon enough they've reached to a decision. There after one of them replied back to Genocide's idea,

"So that's your response. For now, we shall put the queen and her cohorts behind bars. She'll only be free once she's not proven guilty of her act."

Genocide crossed his arms,

"I guess that'd suffice."

Suddenly, he tipped his hat and gave them the glare of hell,

"Yet, if you ingrates do anything to my mother, I'll rip y'all to shreds."

Then, he sighed all of his tensions and pointed at the elders,

"And you maniacs will be banished from this place forever."

The crowd was intrigued by the conflict between the royal house against the elders. Whispers and murmurs of doubts burst around the plaza.

The hot-headed elder grinded his teeth and pointed back,

"Bold words from the rebellious prince of Athlis. Yet, if the kingnstays dead, you and your accomplices shall leave the walls of Vampia. Then, let us assign another potential king who shall rule under our guidance."

Julieth just nodded to the demands of both sides.

Genocide was just engrossed in his sarcastic thoughts,

"Riiiight...guidance. Hells! These Goddesses acting as elders are better at partially guiding us than you dirty old men who just wants absolute control and ensalve all the beauties!"

The next day, the festival ended in an awry way. People were back to their usual routine, but they were even more anxious and hesitant due to the recent incident. Suddenly, Spheera's cute cry was heard from the underground cell behind bars,

"WHY AM I LOCKED UP WITH THE OTHERS TOO HUH?!"

Genocide patted its shiny metal head, while Thelamia and him were outside the cells,

"I'm jusy gonna ask you a favor little ball kitten. Please look after my mom and her Goddess friends okay?"

Though, Spheera was stubborn,

"I won't! And don't you have royal guards in this place?!"

Genocide gripped his hat,

"While it's true that there are guards around here. Yet, those guys are just like dogs. Meaning, they just follow the higher-ups such as those elders and lords of carnage at this mere moment."

Then, his face was shrouded by overbearing darkness,

"And I think those SAVAGES might take advantage of my mom's helpless situation. Besides, they've been oggling on mom for quite a while now. Not to mention, her friends are potential prey, except Thamy ofcourse."

Thelamia felt insulted and her eyebrows twitched non-stop,

"E-except me?!"

Spheera turned around and saw Julieth and the pitiful Goddesses inside the cell same as Spheera. Not much soon, Spheera nodded with an eager look at Genocide,

"Alright, if it's for master Julie, I'll do it! I'll fire off all my bullets and missiles into those perverts!"

Genocide was pleased. Afterwards, he turned around patted Thelamia's adorable head,

"It's time to go Thamy."

Thelamia nodded,

"Oh okay."

When Julieth observed that Genocide and Thelamia already left, she clasped her hands as she was an evangelistic maiden,

"May the Goddess of fortune and blessings shine upon your journey my dear son and Thamy."

Somehow, Rae and her other Goddess friends were just annoyed,

"Okay Julie, drop the act. We know you suck at this."

"So tell us Julie, what's really going on?"

Julieth turned to them and she masked a grin of a sarcastic mistress,

"I truly suck being a benevolent Goddess."
