A Demon Killed & A secret unfolds

"What should we do now?" I ask Vernon. "We have to tell the others." "What about...Him?" I point at Damien. "Leave him." He grabs me, visibly annoyed and angry. We enter back into the teachers' office and everyone stood up, happy to see us alive.

"What happened out there?" Lia asked, and we explained everything to them soon after. "Really? I knew that guy gave off weird a energy." "We're glad you're okay Tia." "Thanks guys, but you should thank Vernon, he was the one that saved me."

"You don't have to." He scratches his head gently, smiling softly. "Thanks, Vernon." Michael gave Vernon a warm smile and hugs him. We all settle down and start talking. "It got away?" "Yes, turns out, it can fly, and shoot lightning bolts and sh*t."

"Then how are we supposed to defeat it?" "Yeah, it'll just take the body away." "We need to break into groups. The first will make a distraction while the other goes to find the body." "I agree." "Then let's break into two groups."

We split into two groups and I get paired with Anna, Vernon, and some of the 3rd years that we met in the second building. "Okay, the first group will find the monster, then, they'll lead it far away from the school, after that, you're gonna keep it there until we find its body." "And what about group 2?"

"We will look for the body." "But aren't there more monsters out there?" "Yes, but we'll stick together. Meaning, nobody must leave or split away from the group." They all nod. "Is everyone ready?" Some pick up their weapons and nod. "Okay, good luck and be safe." We all run out the door and split up.

(IN THE SECOND BUILDING)

"Okay, let's start here." "Let's split up into groups of three, that way we can finish faster." "Okay." We break into three groups, one for each floor and start searching.

(ON THE THIRD FLOOR)

"Hey." Vernon grabs my shoulder. "Oh, hi Vernon." "Are you okay? You know, after what just happened. I can't imagine how you must've felt." "I-I'm fine. I'm just glad you were there to save me." "Me too. That guy was a massive creep."

"Couldn't agree more." He continues to help me and soon we finish. "Okay, there's nothing much here, let's go back." We all go back to the first floor and sit down next to the lockers.

"I guess we're the first to finish." "Yeah." "Hey guys, I have something to tell you."

A girl stands up. "Uhm...What is it?" "Earlier, when we were searching, I needed to use the bathroom so I went to the second floor, but when I got there I accidentally walked into someone else's conversation." "And?" "They were talking about killing the other students..."

"What?" "What are you talking about?" "I don't know, but I definitely heard them talking about it." "You mean they're talking about killing us?" "Yeah." "Why though?" "It's obvious. If we don't kill the monsters before sunrise, the last 5 students get to live." "I'm sorry what?"

Realizing that the students we found earlier didn't know what we were talking about, we started explaining. "And that's mostly it." "So did you see who they were." "No, I only heard their voices. It sounded like two guys and a girl." "Okay, this is bad, but at least we know it's not one of us."

"Speaking of which, where are the students that were supposed to search the first floor?" "You're right, there's no one here." "Maybe they finished and decided to help the second floor?" "Then should we go help them?" "Yeah, let's go." We all walk upstairs.

*Book falls* "Ahhhh!!!!" A girl drops her book, seeing multiple dead bodies laying on the floor. "What the hell happened here?!" "Could it have been the three students?" "There's no way they could've done this." "Yeah, they wouldn't have had the time." "Look."

I point to a mark on someone's neck. "What is that?" "Isn't that a sign of getting choked?" "You're right." "What choked them?" "Yeah, they all have the same marking." "It's probably a new demon." "Then we need to get out of here." "Agreed." We all run back to the first building.

(IN THE FIRST BUILDING)

"We need to barricade the door." "What? Why?" "To stop whatever killed those students from entering." "Yeah, he's right." Some students move some of the furniture in front of the door. "That should be enough."

*Door closing loudly* "What was that?" "It sounded like the door leading to the gym." "Let's go check it out." We all run towards the noise and once we arrive we immediately come to a stop. "We meet again." Professor Varion's demon turns around, smiling.

"Where is professor Varion's body?" A guy asks, his voice shaky but with impact. "Why would I tell you? After all, you're all trying to kill me." "It's no use." "Duh, it's not f*cking stupid Harry." "Hah!" The demon fires a lightning bolt at us, but we dodge it.

"Everybody, run around in circles!" We all start to run when some of the students start talking. "Do you have any ideas?" "I think I do." "What is it?" "We have to trick it into killing itself." "And how will we do that?" "You guys said that they can die to these rules, right?" She asks me. "Yes, but what rule can we make it do?" "We can make it look at the clock."

"That would be obvious. Also, one of us could accidentally see a glance of it, and you already know what happens after that." "Then we can make it take it something from us." "What do you mean by that?" "Stealing is a rule, right? We can make it steal our things without it even noticing."

"How?" "Look." She takes out her pencil. "I can throw it at him and he might keep." "Why would he keep your pencil?" The guy raises an eyebrow, visibly confused. "We had an encounter with that demon earlier before we met you guys." "And?"

"It seemed to like pencils a lot." "What do you mean?" "I saw a stash of pencils inside its cape." "And?" "I think it might take the bait." "Let's hope it forgets that stealing's a rule." *Pencil rolling across the gym*

"Now, I will kill all of you!" The demon closes his eyes, then, objects all around the gym started to fly towards the doors, blocking the exits. "This better work!" *Continuous laughter* As the demon laughs, its cape starts to lift, revealing many pencils underneath.

"What is it going to do?!" "I think it's gonna command the pencils to stab us!" "Your times are up----" Before it could finish its sentence, Damien was out from the backstage. "Oh, it appears I am missing one more pencil." He immediately looks at the pencil we rolled earlier.

"What a shame that there is one right underneath me!" He picks up the pencil. "Now, time to die——" *Gasp* It gasps as its eyes start to turn white. "No!!!" "It worked!" The demon breaks through the gym's roof. "What's it gonna do?" The demon swirls his hands around and then...*Lightning strike* The demon is hit and it disappears, turning into dust.

"We did it!" We all run and form into a circle, hugging each other as we laugh with happiness. *Roof fixing itself* We look up and see the broken roof repairing itself. "That's weird." *Lights turn off* "Ah!" We all are startled. "There's a blackout!" "Okay, everybody stay calm."

We bump into each other for a while but soon the power comes back. "That was scary." "Is everyone here?" We all start counting. "Yeah, we are." "That's good." "Hey guys, take a look at this." A guy picks up a note from the floor. "What's that?" "Read it." "Okay."

All may seem normal, but one of you has been taken, and replaced...By a demon.
