The Cryptix Sphere

The Riddler…Is our biological father." "W-what?" "Mr. Anderson…He's our biological father." "Y-you can't be serious" "I know it's out of nowhere, but I had to tell you." "You know, I was slowly starting to believe you, but you're seriously going past the line, Sam!"

"Fine, I'll show you." Sam grabs my hand, pulling me with him back to the third building. "What the hell are you doing?!" "I knew you wouldn't believe me so I brought something with me." "Okay, you know you can just let go of me!" Sam lets go and continues walking towards the teacher's office.

I close the door and Sam searches through Mr. Anderson's desk. "Found it." He takes out a photo card, showing me afterwards. "No..." I rub my eyes, not believing what I'm seeing. "I'm telling the truth, Anna." "Okay, yeah, cool, I'm your sister, but finding out that my real dad was with me all along...I just...I can't." "Look, it'll be okay. We'll get dad back." Sam rubs my back.

~AFTER A WHILE~

"Let's go. The others are waiting for us." I nod and Sam helps me stand up, soon going out the door. "You doing alright?" Sam asked me. "Still a bit shaken up, but doing a little better." Sam nods and we continue walking. Soon, we reach the building where James and the are others at. I close the door and ask Sam.

"Where could they be?" "They should be where you last saw them right?" "Maybe, let's go and check." We walk towards the left corner but as we were about to turn, Veronica accidentally bumps into me, making us fall. "Veronica?" As I said that Jessica, who was carrying James on her back, yelled. "Run!" Sam immediately helps me and Veronica, then helping Jessica with James.

"What the hell is going on?!" Suddenly, a Boulder comes flying past the hallway, making us surprised and gasp. "The demons found me in the cafeteria!" Jessica explained. "We have no time for explanations. Hurry up and start running!" I yelled, everyone following my orders.

We go out into the school garden, heading towards the first building. As we're turning the corner, I drop down a few obstacles to slow down the demons but the samurai slices through them clean. "This isn't good we need to take a detour!" "Yeah, we won't make it in time!" We all agree to instead, go to the second building, making sure to run faster.

Soon, we reach the door and close it. "This won't hold them off, we need to get somewhere far!" Jessica suggested, and we agree, nodding our head. As we're running I hear a door slowly open behind us, curious, I turn behind me and see…"Tia?!" The others turned around immediately as I said that. "Anna?!" "Watch out!" James warns Tia, seeing The Riddler behind her.

"No, it's okay. He's good." "What?" "Guys, I know we're in the middle of a reunion but those demons are gonna reach us any second now!" Veronica warned us. "Stay behind me." The Riddler, or should I say, Mr. Anderson, said as he pushed us back. "What are you going to do?" "I'll try to take them out." "By yourself? Are you crazy?" Jessica asked.

"It'll be alright. Just stay behind me and be safe." We back off even more and soon we hear the door get sliced open, Mr. Anderson gets ready, fixing his stance and pointing his spear forward. "Why do I feel this is gonna be like a huge anime fight?" "Really James?" Veronica raised an eyebrow at James. "Jeez, I was just trying to ease the situation here."

"Well, it's not helping. You should rest, you'll need energy." James goes back to sitting down quietly and that's when we hear swords clashing with metal. Looking at where the sound came from, we see Mr. Anderson and the Samurai going head to head. The Samurai tries to strike at Mr. Anderson but he blocks it with his spear.

The demon teleports behind dad and gives him a cut on his shoulder. As they throw a few more attacks at each other, dad manages to push the demon against a wall. As a final blow, dad pierces the demon with his spear and grabs it on the neck, releasing dark magic into it, and making the Samurai's eyes black, soon turning into dust.

"Wow, he actually did it," Sam said as he stood up, his eyes wide open. Dad teleports back to us and asks. "Are you all okay?" We pause, but nod in response. "How did you do that? I thought you said you were good old Mr. Anderson?" "Oh but I am. I just maintained the demon's form and I can remember it's every moment in the school."

"You mean, you know everything about the demons?" "I mean, not everything but quite a good amount." "This is great! This means we have a better chance at surviving this!" "You're right. Also, you can join the other demons and learn what they're planning to do." Sam suggested. "That is a great idea." "Do you think you can do it?"

Tia asked. "I suppose I could give it a try." "Okay, Mr. Anderson will spy on the demons and we'll go back to the others." "Okay, until next time, students." dad turns around but before he teleports, he looks back at me and Sam. "You two, we'll talk later." Flicking his fingers, dad disappears. "What was that about?" James asked.

"Oh, it's uh…It's nothing. Let's go back." We all go back to the first building. Once arriving, we all go to the nurse's office to check on Phil. Closing the door, we sit next to him. "Hey, Phil, are you doing alright?" Phil sits up and turns to us. "Yeah, I'm still a little bit dizzy though." "You know, it's my first time ever meeting someone with Homophobia—" "Hemophobia, you stupid idiot." I corrected James.

"Oops, sorry." "No worries, a lot of people get it mixed up." We continue talking with Phil and soon we hear the door open and dad comes in. "A demon!" Phil starts to freak out but we calm him down, explains everything to him, except for the dad part. "Woah, that's so cool." "I just came back and I have something really important to tell you guys."

Dad sits on the bed opposite to us and starts explaining. "The demons are going to use the Cryptix Sphere." "Cryptix what?" "A Cryptix Sphere. It's a sphere that can bring back dead or defeated demons." "What?" "Yeah, they're planning to use very soon." "Well, how do we prevent it from happening?" "There's only one way to stop it from resurrecting the dead demons." "Okay, well tell us." "The Cryptix Sphere requires two souls for one demon to be resurrected.

Which means that they have collected students to collect their souls." "And?" "Once a demon is resurrected, it grows stronger and gains more abilities, which is why we must prevent this from happening." "Okay, and?" "I have one more bad news." "What is it?" "When I was looking at the captured students, I saw two of your friends there." "What? Really? Who were they?" "I believe their names were…Michael...and Vernon."
