+38 Grind : Forest of Kin ¹

「 Welcome to the Forest of Kin 」

The notification popped before me as I reached the location I decided to start my mission on. It was the same place where I met Garius , the place was towards the north of Forest of Dilith. In previous version it spawned a lot of Mid-Garfon's which got me above level 50 that's why I decided to start from here.

I distributed 25 points in Agility and the remaining 25 in Stamina to increase my HP. I stacked myself with stamina and health potion , even though I could just exit the forest easily if I was in danger I didn't plan on doing this. The reason was simple , something Garius mentioned was that I could only return after killing those 301 monsters.

Even if it meant that I could return just to get myself healed , I decided to not return unless I've completed my mission. The place where I stood didn't have any monsters nearby so I decided to head more inside the forest towards the north. The North of all the 3 Kingdoms was still unexplored as the monsters got stronger as we went further.

But with the birth of new powerhouse like Frew Kildian , Griz Kingdom started to explore the part towards the north of their Kingdom. Garius didn't start the expedition as focused more on his territory.

After roaming around for few minutes I was able to come across a bunch of Garfon's , fortunately many of them were higher level than me.

After using 'Haste' every single time possible I was able to get it to lvl 3 , which with the skillbook boost increased my speed by 60% for 40 seconds.

Skills like Mana Recovery and Fireball also increased to lvl 2. I had a sword on my back which I couldn't use cause of my skill and 2 daggers on waist. Before I rushed towards them , I charged a 'Fireball' in my left hand and took a dagger in my right hand.

I threw my dagger towards the highest level monster I could see and used 'Thruster'. This was my first time using the skill , the pure black dagger I threw glowed with golden colour at it's edges. The dagger flew past all the low level monsters and pierced through the lvl 32 Garfon's head but still not killing the monster.

「 Critical Hit!!! You've dealt 3774 damage 」

It was really unexpected , I didn't even know the existence of critical hit in this game until now. That was cause I didn't land even one of these critical hits , the damage I should've dealt was almost doubled and the daggers durability wasn't even lessened.

'The dagger is really well made.'

I couldn't help but admire the dagger's sleek design which increased it's speed. The light weight yet durable material was pretty good adding to its throwable ability. I ran to pick up my dagger stuck to the tree behind the Garfon which was regenerating.

Seeing him defense less I thought of attacking but couldn't as I inly had one of my daggers. A sudden thought came in my mind.

'Maybe I can use the sword now.'

Without wasting time I tried to reach for the sword but a message appeared before me.

「 Player's selected class is Mage due to which player will be unable to use any type of sword 」

'Why did I think that I could use the sword? Did I really thought I could pull some cool protagonist trick.'

Thinking that I gave up on the thoughts of using the sword and went to get my dagger back. I felt something wrong with my right hand as if some of my mana left my mana , but I was able to collect it back.

'Huh!? What was that? Is this some kind of monster's skill? Extorting mana out of my body will be quite troublesome , I've to be careful from now one.'

I picked up my dagger and saw that my Fireball was now fully charged. Like always I aimed for the head and pressed it down on the Garfon. Usually Fireball was used as a shooting skill but I didn't have any confidence in my aim which is why I used this method.

Fireball leveled up but I didn't have the to see the details as the other Garfon's also started attacking me. So after the Fireball I started by good old dagger attacks and used 'Cut' in between to increase it's level and get extra damage on the Garfon.

In between of my attacks the surrounding Garfon's also interrupted my fight. But it worked in my favour I used them as a launcher , their big stature made a great foothold. I jumped on the chest of the Garfon's and launched myself at a particular angle aiming at the lvl 32.

"Haste"

I used 'Haste' which boosted my speed making it hard for the monsters to even react to my attacks. I left a cut on it's hand while the Garfon didn't even realize what cut him , I landed on the body of another Garfon opposite to the one I launched from. With my enhanced stamina I didn't get tired as easily as I did before which meant that I could use movements like these worrying about my stamina.

"Lol sometimes I forget I'm supposed to be a mage."

I didn't notice until I said 'lol' but I really did change a lot , the last time I used that slang was when I was a 4th grader. During those days I was playful full with power and energetic kid , I used to crack jokes , laugh , run around , cry when I got hurt.

'I didn't realize but I was slowly reverting back to that 4th grader now'

Snapping out of my thoughts I focused on the enemies before me , using the monster as launcher worked only for a few minutes as even the brainless Garfon's caught up with my strategy. But that was enough time to kill the lvl 32 Garfon.

"I got full of myself seeing all my stats getting increased by +70 , the stats balance is not good I need to increase my Strength and Intelligence faster."

I wiped the sweat formed on my forehead and went into hiding from the remaining Garfon's.

'Hah barely leveled up.'

I split my points in Strength and Intelligence , my Agility and Stamina were higher than Strength and Intelligence. So my 1st aim for this mission was to get Strength and Intelligence higher than 200.

With that aim in my mind I headed to kill all the Garfon's in the area where I slayed the lvl 32. After 3 hours of repeating the cycle of using magic skills and basic attacks I was able to get through them , I was also able to level up 2 more times during this time.

"Show Sub Quest Objective"

「 Kill 301 monsters with higher level than you [8/301] 」

I was able to complete approximately 3% of my quest's objective and it was already afternoon. It made me really doubt whether this quest was even possible or not. My 2nd aim for the quest was to complete it within 25 days , the reason I wanted to meet her as fast as possible.

I looked at the sky above me their was nothing special about today's weather , cloudy blue sky as always. The slow movements of clouds made me feel relaxed , I took a deep breath in feeling the nature around me.

I was completely relaxed , I took a dagger in my left hand , threw it to my right and said in a low voice,

"Thruster"

A few messages appeared before me.

I was completely relaxed , no stress , no problems , just me and the nature.

'Hah'

I let a huge sigh out and started walking towards the north leading deeper in the Forest of Kin. After walking for a while I encountered a smaller Garfon than the one's I'd fought so far. It was sleeping on the ground with broken chains all over his body , I remembered this sight.

"It's a Mid-Garfon."

I shot a Fireball at it as he was a still target , which woke up the sleeping monsters. The monster wasn't as bug as the normal Garfon's but that didn't mean it was less powerful , if anything it's size increased it's agility. A message appeared before me.

「 Mid-Garfon has been Awakened 」
