Special Mage

Lu Ciel and elder Bai were now sipping tea as they were discussing about the functions of a special hunter license while waiting for Bogart to come out and learn his result.

Lu Ciel learned that in order to take the special license for fighter class, one must defeat a hundred wooden puppets under twenty minutes. After that, Bogart will have to fight the current candidate for the special license. Lu Ciel learned that the current candidate was the crowned prince of the giant race. With that, the chances Bogart to win is only at ten percent.

When elder Bai provided all this information, Lu Ciel can only shook his head in disappointment. He just hope that nothing bad happens to Bogart.

"Elder." After some time, the receptionist entered the room and bowed in greetings. "The half-dwarf examinee, Bogart, is now being carried over to the Intensive Care Facility.."

"What?!" Lu Ciel was shocked with the receptionist's report. "How?? How badly was he hurt?"

"Minor damages to the internal organs and broken bones all over his body. He won't be able to move for mostly three months." The receptionist reported.

Hearing this, Lu Ciel got even more worried to the point that his eyes were getting red from the mixed feelings of intense sadness and intense hate to the one who did this. Observing this, elder Bai only patted the young man's shoulder asked the receptionist, "Lead us to the half-dwarf."

In the Intensive Care Facility, there, the two saw a person lying down on a bed made of mud clay. Bogart's body was covered with mud clay as well which made it look like he was in a cocoon where his face full of bruises was only showing. When the two got near, Lu Ciel was disheartned with what he saw.

"How is his situation?" Elder Bai asked the nurse who was overseeing Bogart.

"Currently, he is unconscious and vitality is stable." The nurse reported.

"Hmm I see.." Elder Bai pondered. Right after, he got near to the patient and touched the forehead then closed his eyes for a second.

Elder Bai smirked as he faced the young man with him. "Not bad, lad. Once your butler becomes fully healed, a great amount of Stats will be added on his Defense and Vitality."

"Eh, why is that?" Lu Ciel was confounded. How can one gain this kind of fruitful encounter by being beaten so badly?

"What was implicted to your butler was the secret skill of the Giant race, Body Reconstruction. This is also one of the reason why the Giant race is more inclined to being a Tank class because of their overwhelming high defense from practising this extreme art before consolidating a hunter license." As elder Bai explained, Lu Ciel got more interested from learning this kind of information.

"Out of curiousity, if the Giant race have this kind of extreme art, then does it imply that other have their own extreme arts as well?" Lu Ciel inquired.

"That's correct!" Elder Bai nodded as he continued to provide more information. "The elf race has the extreme art called Broken Steps, it enhances the Stats for Speed and Strength. The Dwarf race has the Body Refining where it enhances the Vitality and Strength. The Human race have the Extreme Freeze for enhancing Wisdom and Luck. Lastly, the winged race has the extreme art of Divination which can enhance all Stats, but the enhancement is not that great comparing to the other four races."

"Whoaw..!" Lu Ciel's eyes were now sparkling in amazement. "Imagine if you can practice all of the extreme arts, your Stats would be monstrous!!"

"Well, if that is only possible." Elder Bai was now eyeing the young man as if he was crazy.

"Ahh..I see." Lu Ciel understood right away. "These extreme arts must have been restricted from being passed down wantonly or something."

"Correct." Elder Bai nodded. "These arts were only being passed down within the royal family. Another reason why it is limitedly being passed down because of the certain requirements to practice these extremes arts. Not everyone can practice these arts since there's a big possible that the practitioner will die. The more one practice these extreme arts, the closer they are to death."

Hearing this, Lu Ciel was having goosebumps as he asked, "Why is that?"

"An example of this is your Butler." Elder Bai simply explained. "Once the broken bones mended, it will becomes stronger, that's why the Stats for Defense and Vitality enhanced. The more he will practice this extreme art, the harder you put more effort on breaking the bones, and with that, the more your internal organs will be heavily damaged and with heavy internal injuries, the harder and longer for the body to regenerate and might not be able to cope up."

"I understand now." The fire lit up inside Lu Ciel was now doused by the elder's words.

Seeing the expression of the young man, he can't help but inwardly praised on how preceptive he is. "Well, it would indeed be amazing to experience all of these extreme arts even if it's just a one time though."

"Yeah.." Lu Ciel sighed in agreement as he mumbled. "Three months of being bed ridden, somehow, this extreme art is not worth it."

"Is there a way for Bogart to heal faster, master?" Lu Ciel looked up to elder and asked.

"Well, there is indeed a way for him to heal faster." Elder bai answered as he provided the options. "First is to simply cast a Heal spell on him. He will be healed instantly but that would take away the Stats that would be gained."

"How come?" Lu Ciel asked.

"Simply because the theory of Heal spell is to rewind the state of his body at the time that it was not damaged." Elder Bai replied.

"But isn't Heal spell is a Light element?" Lu Ciel was confused as he only shook his head to disregard this certain topic for now. "Anyway, what are the other options?"

Hearing this, elder Bai only smirked as he replied. "The second option would be pills. Well, isn't this a fate after all?"

"Why so..?" Lu Ciel cocked his head sideways for having no idea what the elder was talking about.

"Pills can only be produced by Alchemists." Elder Bai simply stated. "With pills, not only you can enhance the healing speed of your butler, the Stats that should be gained after healing will be retained and may be ehanced more."

"Ohh!" Lu Ciel's eyes began to sparkle once more. "Do you have this pill that you are talking about, master?"

Elder Bai only shook his head on this question which doused the young man's hope.

"However, this is an opportunity for you to learn how to make as my Alchemy disciple." Elder Bai followed up with a smirk.

"That's right!" Realizing that he was indeed a disciple of this elder, Lu Ciel's eyes shined again with full of motivation as he bowed in respect. "Master, please teach this disciple of yours, alchemy."

"Haha." Elder Bai chuckled as he responded. "Of course, that's what you are as my disciple after all."

"However, it's already evening." Elder Bai added as he took out two books and one parchment paper which appeared one by one after tapping seven times on the air, and handed it to Lu Ciel. "Try to learn these first, and if you're able to learn the two books within three days, I'll provide you the ingredients to refine the pills."

Lu Ciel frowned as he mumbled, recieving the items that the elder has given to him. "Why can't you provide the ingredients right away though?"

"Tsk." Hearing this, the elder got annoyed with his disciple as he retorted, "Are you a spoiled brat or something?"

"Tsk." Hearing this also, the young man got annoyed to his master as well as he retorted back. "Stingy old man."

"Fine, fine." The old man let out a deep sigh in resignation. "If you can learn those two books, then I'll provide you the ingredients of best quality that there is."

"Perfect!" Lu Ciel rejoiced. "You said it, and as an esteemed master, you can't take your words back.

"Hmmph!" Elder Bai just snorted as he started to walk away. "You can stay here in the Guild for the mean time. It's the least that I can do for you to be safe from that young elf."

When Elder Bai was about to exit the room, he almost tripped when he heard the young man exclaimed, "Oh! These are skills! Done learning..!"
