Chapter 43

Lenata immediately blushed because of her future sister-in-law's words.

--

While Calista was talking with Lenata, her phone suddenly rang. It was Leonard. He told her that he would immediately go to the apartment when he arrived in Surabaya.

It wasn't that she didn't like her lover's arrival, but as long as her brother was still in Surabaya, the two would continue to get into fights, so she forbade him to come.

"You're not fighting, are you?" Lenata asked.

Calista shook her head.

"Then why do you forbid him to come?"

"I don't want Calvin to be angry after seeing Leo."

Lenata's brows furrowed.

"Wait, wait. You mean Calvino doesn't like..."

"Like what?" Calvino interrupted.

Calvino made both of them gasp, especially Calista. Her face turned pale.

"We're talking about..." Calista stuttered, not daring to look her brother in the eye.

Knowing that Calista was trying to hide something, Calvino brought his face closer.

"Talk about what? Who I don't like?" His fingers reached out to grab Calista's chin.

"Tell me!"

"Emm, it's not about who you don't like, but we're talking about your favourite food. I'll let my future sister-in-law know that…" Calista paused for a moment, looked at Lenata meaningfully, asking her to be quiet.

"You don't like spicy food," Calista added.

"Oh yeah, that's true. I can't eat spicy food." Calvino replied.

"That means we have different tastes. I like spicy food." Lenata added.

Calvino then rubbed Lenata's head.

"Taste doesn't matter, honey. Being different is good. Oh yes, please help Calista. I will prepare a car."

"I'm glad that Calvin didn't hear our actual conversation. If he finds out. Hm, World War ten can happen."

"He hates him that much, huh?"

"Hmm," Calista replied.

"What's the cause?"

Calista was silent. Her mind began to wonder. Should she tell Lenata how dark her lover's past was?

Finally, she decided to hide the bitter truth.

"I don't know why."

"If that's the case, then Calvin has his own judgment. Well, let's talk about it later after we get to the apartment. You know that your brother doesn't like waiting. Come on, I'll help you down." Lenata replied as she helped Calista.

"Thank you, Len."

"Hm, take it slow. You're still weak."

"Where did Calvin park his car?" Calista asked Lenata.

"I'm here, sweetie."

Calista immediately turned her face which was greeted with a warm smile.

--

The car that took them away had arrived at the apartment. Calvino immediately asked his sister to rest in the room. Still, Calista refused because she felt bored if she lay down. What she needed right now was fresh air.

Lenata then led her into the garden, seated her on a lounger.

"Thank you, babe."

"Yeah."

"How many days are you going to stay here?" Calista asked.

"Maybe three days," Lenata replied.

"So fast. I hope you will stay here longer."

"I want to, but I have to go back to Bandung. Later, before flying to London, I'll stop by here again. Oh yeah, Calvin told me that you work at Mr Albert's company. Is that true?"

"Hmm."

"And Mr Albert offered you to be the CEO of his company in London?"

"Hmm."

"Calis, I'm asking. Say something, don't just hmm, hmm."

"What should I say, Len. Calvin has told you everything, right?"

"Indeed, Calvin already told me, but I want to hear it directly from you. Oh yeah, Calvin is back in Jakarta tomorrow, so how about you ask your lover to come here? I wanna know him."

"After all, it's been a long time since you two met. You must miss each other, right?" Lenata added, teasing Calista.

"We'll see him tomorrow, Len."

Unbeknownst to them, there was a pair of eyes intensely staring at them. He even heard the two's conversation clearly.

Hearing Leonard's name made his blood boil, especially with the depraved deeds he had done while in Jakarta.

Not liking the two of them talking about the bastard man, Calvino immediately approached the two. He showered his beloved sister's head with affectionate kisses. He then turned to Lenata.

For some reason, Lenata felt that there was something different with Calvino. There was anger in his eyes, but she didn't know why.

Calista immediately asked about her sister's return to Jakarta the next day. Before answering her sister's question, she looked at Lenata for a long time as if to say, did you tell Calista?

Feeling uncomfortable, Lenata lowered her face. Honestly, this was the first time Calvino gave her a sharp look with a cold expression. He made her wonder.

'Did I say something wrong? But why should Calvin be angry? What is the cause?' Lenata thought.

"Follow me, Len!" Calvino asked Lenata to follow him somewhere.

"Where?"

Calvino didn't answer. The brown-eyed man glared at her with an undeniable command before sauntering downstairs.

Not wanting to provoke her brother's anger, Calista suggested Lenata follow him.

"Perhaps, there must be something my brother wants to talk to you, babe. Go!" Calista suggested while rubbing Lenata's arm.

Lenata nodded and then walked downstairs to meet Calvino.

Calvino immediately dragged Lenata into his room when he heard footsteps approaching. His face hardened, his eyes lit up, his hands clenched until she could hear the sound of chattering teeth.

Lenata's body shivered with fear at sight like this for the first time. No matter how angry Calvino was, he had never been like this before.

"What happened?" Lenata asked with trembling lips.

"I don't like your conversation with Calis."

"So you don't like it when I tell Calista that you will return to Jakarta tomorrow morning? I'm sorry for that. I don't think it will be a problem because Calis is your sister." Lenata replied.

"Not that one, Lenata."

"If not, then what? I didn't discuss anything with Calista."

"You don't know where you went wrong, huh?"

Lenata shook her head in fear.

Calvin growled.

"Your biggest mistake was talking about the bastard in front of Calista. And why do you suggest my sister invite him to come to this apartment? How dare you!"

"He's Calista's lover, so what's wrong with him coming to visit?"

"You don't know anything, Lenata." Calvino snapped.

His gaze grew fiercer, his footsteps continued to move forward, locking Lenata's body wedged against the wall.

"You better not interfere! This is the Kafeel family business!" Calvino snapped.

After that, he grabbed the car key and left the apartment by slamming the door behind him.

Unbeknownst to him, his woman was injured.
