I was bleeding out. My little brother was sitting in between my legs, sobbing as we were sitting in the car that was starting to tilt off the cliff.
The semi-truck had rammed into us good. They're no good on mountain sides. The truck crashed into the mountain-side, but we weren't so lucky.
We had slid towards that edge, the car popping a wheel and swerving out. My mother had screamed for us to hold on tight as she tried to gain control over our direction. I had grabbed my little brother, holding him tight as we slammed to a stop by the edge of the cliff. My mother could get out, my two older brothers could get out.
Suko and I were the unfortunate pair.
The car creaked and I heard voices.
"You could have killed us all! My daughter and other son are still in there! They can't get out!!" I heard my mother shout.
The car creaked and a man's apologies were cut quiet at the creak.
My brother was sobbing, clinging to my shirt and my side was punctured. I sighed, knowing I had three options. No, four. I could, sit here and wait for help, carefully direct Suko out of here, throw him to the broken window and have him shimmie out, or get us both out of here and risk near death.
I was going with the last option.
I carefully undid my seat belt and moved sightly. This caused a fresh flow of blood to seep out of my body and trail down the seat.
I hissed and picked Sukoshi up.
"Okay. Suko, I need you to listen to me. I'm gonna move very carefully and I need you to stay still. If there are any loud noises, don;t scream, squirm, or try to run, because we;ll get hurt, okay?" He looked at the bleeding wound in my side and nodded.
I was losing a lot of blood and was getting dizzy. I carefully crawled through the mess with Sukoshi on my back. I stepped in a patch of the car and felt it creak.
Sukoshi whimpered and I mutter sweet assurings to keep him calm. After half an hour, and repetitive check in with my mom, making sure we were okay and still alive, I had reached the other side of the car.
"Mom!" I shouted.
She heard my voice, a whole lot closer than before and came over, sobbing.
"Oh my babies. Are you two alright? I don't know what's taking the ambulances so long, the fire department still hasn't arrived." She sobbed.
"It's fine. I'm going to break this window to get Sukoshi out. I want you to tell me if the car moves towards the edge when I break it." I instructed.
"Maybe we should wait fo-" I cut her off.
"I'll bleed to death before they get here." I said.
"You're hurt?!" She shouted.
"It's bad. I need to get out, I've lost too much blood. But I need to get Sukoshi out first. Tell me if the car moves." I said again.
I punched at the window, cracking it more than it already was, the car creaked but my mother didn't say anything, so I landed another punch.
Nothing.
I kicked the window, completely shattering it and the car groaned and tilted, It started to slide and I pushed Sukoshi out of the window.
"Go Suko!" I shouted.
He screamed and ran out of the car and to my waiting mother who had screamed when the car started to move. I started to crawl out, but my foot was caught on something.
I looked down to see a piece of the roof that had collapsed inward.
"Aisuru!" My mother screamed as the car toppled.
I jumped, breaking my ankle as it snapped in the wrong direction at the pull of the force. I my hand reached out the top and to the cliffs edge that had appeared, and I missed it.
The pain was unbearable. It was beyond painful. The car fell faster than I did, smashing into the canyon below, and I was free falling.
I looked up to see my mother's face peering over the edge as her mouth moved, her words didn't reach my ears as I fell to the earth.
I closed my eyes, expecting a slam, or loud thump, excruciating pain in anyway. Behind my closed eyes, I saw Suko's cute laughing face. Warai and Damu's focused faces as they both fought over the first place, and then turned to me to complain or brag about who was better.
My mother's soft and gentle voice as she braided my hair and left a marigold in it.
"Thank you, everyone." I whispered, feeling my body get lighter and lighter, until I felt nothing and everything was white.

"Hey, you alright?"
My eyes bolted open at the voice. My heart pounding at my last memories of free falling off the cliff.
I looked around frantically, only to see a little girl with long brown hair looking at me with a kind smile. I looked down to see I was wearing my jeans and snow coat from the car. There was no blood, no rips, no nothing. It was like the accident never happened.
"We were heading up the mountain for Christmas. We got into an accident, where is my family?" My voice broke.
"They are all well, especially little Sukoshi, thanks to you." She smiled.
"Where am I?" I asked. "Who are you?"
She took a small step closer and grinned.
"I'm Laura. You, Aisuru Hageshi, are in what everyone knows as Limbo. A space between time. But what it really is, is the place where people who aren't going to heaven or hell, meet for a little."
"I'm sorry what?" I said, looking her up and down.
She was a small girl. Kind looking with beautiful brown eyes and in a white dress. She wore no shoes, but her feet looked so delicate, they didn't seem to touch the ground.
"God brought you to Limbo, because you deserve another chance. You saved your little brother with such bravery and courage, that he thought it shouldn't go to waste in that world. So he's giving you another chance."
She waved her hand at a blank area and a image of a boy with unruly green hair, green eyes and freckles came up. He looked up at something and smiled.
"That's Izuku Midoriya, from Boku no Hero Academia. What about him?" I asked the girl.
"Seeing as though you recognize him, you must know how the story goes so far. And we're gonna drop you right in the beginning of it. It is your job to become a hero in this life, and put that courage and bravery to use."
My jaw dropped.
"This is ridiculous. Even if you could put me there, saying I believe all of this anyway, who's to say I don't show up in the real world? Kohei Horikoshi might have other plans, what happens if he stops writing, or if he shakes things up? Or if I catch up to the storyline. What's stopping me from dying in this world?"
"Nothing. It's a regular life, just with benefits." She smiled calmly.
I sighed and waved my hands.
"You know what, do whatever you want. I don't care. Because I know! This is a dream of the dead! I have no doubt that I died, but this isn't real so-"
The white landscape suddenly started turning black, and I turned to see the girl waving.
"Okay then. I'm dropping you in at your age, which is 15. Perfect. You'll have memories of this life, so no need to worry. You memories of this life will be temporarily erased when you realize what's going on. So when you learn the name of your host, you forget everything."
"However, if you spark something that reminds you of your past life, everything will return as well as your knowledge of this world."
"Do your job and I hope you survive!"
Everything went black.
~Time Skip~
I woke up, almost screaming. I sat up in very little clothing and looked around to see a teenage girl's bedroom.
I was wearing just black underwear with a black bra that was all covered in a giant t-shirt that had an image on it.
"The hell?" I looked around again to see most of the furniture was black. Cool. There was a tall mirror on the wall, a nightstand next to the bed, a dresser with a bunch of papers on them, and a desk with a little amount of hero merchandise.
"I'm sorry what?" My eyes honed in on a picture on the desk.
It was a girl with long black hair and green eyes. She was grinning into the camera, holding a Mirko pushie and wearing sunglasses. She was at a beach and on the docks, wearing shorts and a tank top. Her bikini clearly poking out from underneath it.
"Who dis?" I muttered, groggily.
I looked around the desk and saw a ID for the owner of this room. I grabbed it, all my senses telling me no, but looked at it anyway.
"Hikari Tatakai. Age 15, Aldera Junior High. Sport's student. Football, Volleyball and Soccer." I grinned at the sports.
"Hey! At least this body liked sports!" I frowned, remembering Laura's words.
"Your memories of your life will be temporarily erased . . ."
I thought hard about my family, but slowly started to realize I couldn't remember small details. Like Sukoshi's eye color. Green or Blue? Mom's hair color. Black of Brown? The sound of their voices?
I sighed, remembering this was a new chance.
My mind started to flood of the memories of this body. There was a class full of students going over some math. There was another scene where I was watching a movie with a oranged haired boy who smiled ruffled my hair. There was another where I was standing on a beach and concentrating.
"Wow, when you take in a life full of memories, it really put things into perspective." I hissed, clutching my head at the headache that took over.
There was a knock at the door and I froze in panic.
"What?" I said, mentally slapping myself.
"Breakfast, asshole!" Someone said.
I whipped the door open to see the boy with orange hair.
He was wearing baggy sweats and a white tank top.
"Get some clothes on Hikari. You know Kori slept over last night. He sees you in that, I'll never hear the end of it." He waved and walked down the hall. "I made your favorite."
"U-uh, thanks." I said, quickly shutting the door.
I had to pause, letting the memories go through my head.
His name was Tochi. He was my older brother. He was 17 and ending high school. He had a law degree, seeing as though his quirk wasn't suited for hero work. His quirk is plant control. He can grow any plant at his will, but he is kinda like a plant himself. Need lots of water and sunlight. He gets sick really easily in the winter.
I stood there before pulling on leggings underneath the shirt and went downstairs. I walked past pictures of smaller versions of the girl in the photo on the desk. She was either by herself or with Tochi.
They clearly had a lot of fun, amusement parks, playgrounds, sports tournaments and football games.
I walked into the kitchen to find a plate stacked with pancakes covered in chocolate syrups, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and nutella.
I loved this body's taste in food.
I dug into the pancakes, memories of eating this exact breakfast many times over the years. The more memories I gained, the more I lost.
By the end of breakfast, my last though as Aisuru Hageshi, was "I'll do my best to make this life work."
