I walked into class the day after the sludge villain incident that everyone knew about. I had to admit, I kinda wanted to go up to the angry blonde in our class and ask some questions. But I was too tired and I needed some pain meds too.
My brain kept showing me these flashes of random people, incidents and a bunch of answers to things I didn't even have questions to. It was giving me a bad headache.
I walked into class, shutting the door behind me, only to find my skirt caught in it.
I tried opening the door but it was locked. I sighed and tugged on it, it didn't budge.
"Uh, a little help?" I asked.
A few people came over and tried to pull but it wouldn't come loose.
"You morons! Open the damn door!" Bakugou shouted.
"Shut the hell up! It's locked!" I hissed.
"Tatakai, we might have to rip it." A girl said.
Just as she got a good grip on it, the door opened and I fell forward, only to be caught by one of Bakugou's friends.
"Oh thank god." I said flattening my skirt as I stood up straight. "Thanks you guys."
They nodded and smiled as they started talking to me casually. I looked to see it was Midoriya who opened the door.
"Midoriya, hey!" I said kindly.
"Why are you talking to him?" A girl asked.
"He's quirkless, you know that right?" My memory suddenly sparked and reminded me of that.
So what?
"Is that a problem?" I asked, my gaze hard as I looked at them.
"It's okay Tatakai-" Midoriya started.
"Well, your pretty useless without a quirk." A boy said from his desk.
"And that's why he's Deku." Bakugou finished, looking at me. "You never show your quirk. I'm starting to think you're quirkless too. Am I right?"
"Because I don't flaunt my quirk and have temper tantrums with it, doesn't mean I don't have one." I growled. I waved to Midoriya.
My memory showed a few years back when Bakugou, Midoriya and I used to hang out and play together.
"What's your deal man? He never did anything to you. Stop being an ass-"
"Language, Tatakai." A voice said.
I turned around to see the teacher and rolled my eyes, going to my seat as the class settled down.
"Okay, so. We need to go over all your high school future things and all that, but I already know, YOU ALL WANT TO BE HEROES!" He cheered as the class went wild.
Words went around as people talked about what schools they want to go to.
"Bakugou!? Your applying to UA?" One of his friends asked.
"Of course. I have the best scores in the school." He went on about how great he was when I flinched, knowing what was coming next.
"Oh right. Midoriya and Tatakai. You both applied to UA too right?" The teacher said.
I looked over to see Midoriya twitch and squeak as eyes turned onto us too.
"PFFT! HAHAHA!!" The class burst out laughing.
"Midoriya's quirkless and Tatakai can't fight!" One of Bakugou's lackey' said.
"Actually, Tatakai CAN fight. She's really good." Someone else said. I looked to see a girl with braids. "Remember the time I was cornered in an ally?"
My memory shot through and found the day I had defeated five men cornering her for money with one kick from my leg.
ONE KICK.
I scare myself.
"Yup. Idiots actually though they could beat me." I snorted.
"Oh?" Bakugou said looking at me.
"No, I'm not fighting you. No, it's not because I'm scared, it's because I don't give a damn about your ego. Stay the hell away from me." I growled, leaving when the bell excused us.
Over the next six months, I trained and trained. My already had muscles and abs, but I needed to train.
I ran on beaches, in parks, on the track at school. I was sprinting down the beach at full speed, moving so fast, you'd thought I was a speeding car.
I was testing out how fast I could go without stopping at max speed and I was doing pretty well so far. My lungs were drying up and my side was cramping slightly, but I was okay.
It was the fourth month and I was at the Takoba Municipal Beach Park when I noticed something new.
Most of the trash that was on the beach had been cleared. There was still a ton but, not as much. I walked through the rubble, seeing the dump it had become and perked my ears at the voices.
"You can do it! Pull!" A familiar voice shouted. I was only able to Identify it due to it being famous.
I walked through and came across a small clearing where I found Midoriya.
"Midoriya? What are you doing?" he was hauling a large fridge that looked impossible for his small figure. I looked at it to see something the made my jaw drop.
The number one hero All Might was sitting on top of it, shouting encouraging words into a microphone.
"A-All Might?" I stuttered.
Midoriya gasped with joy at the sight of me, but ti slowly knitted into panic as he looked from me to All Might.
"Tatakai! You know All Might, um. This is hard." He finished, looking at the ground.
"You there!" All Might shouted, jumping off the fridge and landing in front of me. "Are you a friend or foe?"
"Friend?" I said, confused.
"Ah! Okay then. People must not know I'm training Young Midoriya! They will assume and call it unfair. It will ruin his chance to get in UA!" He said.
I smiled at Midoriya.
"Your really going all for for this huh? I would happily give you my quirk if I could. You are gonna make an amazing hero." I said.
All Might twitched at my words and looked at me.
"I noticed how you said "are gonna make an amazing hero". Not "would make an amazing hero". Do you believe in Young Midoriya?" He asked.
"Of course. It's Midoriya. The sweetest guy in my class. The kindest, smartest, funniest, and most passionate. If someone could be a hero because something was holding them back, Midoriya would make it work." I grinned.
Midoriya blushed and nudged my side.
"Your embarrassing me Tatakai." He murmured.
All Might clapped.
"How wonderful! Would you like to train with us?" He asked.
"Is that alright?" I asked, looking at Midoriya.
"Of course! It would probably be fun with you here." He smiled.
"Are you saying you are not having fun with me, Young Midoriya?" All Might asked.
"NO! I was just saying since Tatakai I such a fun person-"
"And here I thought I was your hero!" All Might cried.
I could tell he was teasing but Midoriya went into panic mode.
"ohmygosh! I am so sorry All Might!" Midoriya cried.
I giggled and watched as Midoriya hurriedly started moving trash.
"I clean the beach! I'll make it up to you!" He cried.
I laughed and helped him move the fridge which now with my help, could move easily across the sand, like a blade on ice.
For the rest of our two months I spent it with Midoriya and All Might, who left frequently, training and getting stronger.
On the last day, Midoriya and I hauled the rest of the trash and shouted at the top of our lungs on the top of the trash pile in our training clothes.
He and I gasped harsh breaths, looking to see All Might had arrived.
"You two . . . . ARE INCREDIBLE!!" He shouted.
Midoriya and I gave each other hugs, not letting each other go for a moment.
"Congratulations you two. You did it." He said coming over.
I sighed and let Midoriya go.
"We did. And I think we're ready. My brother is excited. I better head back though, need to let him know I'm ready. Thank you. All Might, Midoriya. You both made me stronger. I appreciate that."
Midoriya hugged me again and All Might patted my head.
"You, are more than welcome, Young Tatakai." He said.
I waved and started off.
"Call me Hikari!" I said, sprinting off.
I ran home, not bothering to change, seeing the boys my age stare and blush at my outfit.
I burst into my home and threw myself at Tochi who was sitting on the couch.
"Tochi! I'm ready!!" I said sitting in his lap.
"Oof. Hi Hikari." He said settling my in a more comfortable position. "You really ready? The entrance exams are tomorrow." He said.
"I know. I'm totally gonna pass. I'm sure Midoriya will too. I just hope Bakugou fails but there's not possibility unless I sabotage his exam-"
Tochi hit me over the head.
"Shut up. You're not doing that. You're just gonna have to deal with that asshole for you high school years, okay? You're stuck with him. You guys used to be such good friends too! I used to see the way he loved playing with you, he called you Kari." He smiled.
I flicked his nose.
"It is a cute name but, nobody uses it and I have no friends other than Midoriya." I said smiling.
"Um, you have me?" He offered.
"You don't count. You're my brother." I scoffed, getting up out of his lap.
"I tired." He shrugged.
I laughed and went upstairs. I hopped in the shower and rinsed off the sweat and dirt from the beach.
Sand trailed into the drain and I frowned at the pinkish water I saw. I looked at my body, not seeing any cuts. I ran my hand through my hair and felt it. There was a small metal scrap scratching my slightly.
"Huh, I didn't feel it though." I muttered.
I shrugged and got out.
I dried my long black hair and looked in the mirror to see my emerald green eyes stare back at me. I brushed my hair to keep it from knotting and got in bed, excited to go to the exams tomorrow.
~Time Skip~
I arrived in front of UA with Midoriya and grinned.
"Let's do this Mido! I'm hyped up on sugar for breakfast! You have no one to blame but Tochi for that!" He chuckled and started to walked, clearly nervous, but tripped and headed for the asphalt.
