Mistrust in their eyes

Abigail pov

I could see mistrust in their eyes. Did they think I was so ruthless or foolish to burn my own palace? The palace where my mother and I had spent time where our family was living for centuries! What a foolish idea.

My eyes burned with hatred when I looked at the ashes and dilapidated palace. If i would have been sleeping in my chamber then the end of this life would not have been any different that my past life. Now I have to avenge him for two lifetimes. The grip on the amulet tightened when I remembered his smirking face.

"Even the most trusted and loyal ones would not be ready to die for us." I looked above then the cold voice of Theodore resonated in the air.

"And we do not use humans as escape goats. It is against our morality to give the death penalty to an innocent person." added James as he looked at me with cold and penetrating eyes.
