Parlance

I sorta just stood there for a few seconds. My brain literally couldn't catch up. I swear it was like I was a lagging computer.

As I stood there Harry stands up and offers me a handshake along with a smile. "Hi I'm Harry, like Louis said," I hear Theo's dad laugh at his friends second introduction, and I see Harry give him a quick glaring glance before looking back at me. When I finally muster up the will to shake his hand the first thing I notice it that some points are cold. I look down at our joint hands to see several big rings just like Theo has.

Maybe that's where his dad got the idea for his birthday presents.

"When Louis talked about you I had a suspicion that you were the one in the car with Theo." I could practically feel my face going red. Someone please just end me.

I laugh awkwardly as our hands break away from each other. "Yeah we weren't exactly in the best moment then," I say turning my head to give Theo a warning glance. I see him flinch slightly before smiling at me apologetically, removing his arm from my shoulders.

Harry warm chuckle makes me look back at him, and I almost smiled after seeing his. This man is contagious...what the hell?

"I could see that." I just noticed that they have the same accent; Louis and Harry.

"Yeah it looked like you were trying to muffle him." A melodic voice comes from behind him, and when Harry steps aside I see his daughter.

Her hands were in her pockets, that seemed deeper than any woman pants I've seen before- high key jealous, and her stance was straight yet laid back. She oozed confidence, and I can't say that I wasn't intimidated. In contrast of her father she wore darker colors. She seemed to be a fellow lover a black. Her pants were black, but seemed to be stained with every color there was. She was a painter.

I already knew Theo was going to get along with her. Not only could you tell just by her appearance that she was creative, but you could tell by her band tee that they had the same taste in music. An off white Queen band T-shirt lays loosely on her frame, only constricted by the belt, where she had tucked her shirt into.

I blink several times before responding as quickly as possible, trying to make up for my silence, "Yeah sometimes that's the only way I can get him to shut up."

I feel my stomach jump as Theo tosses me over his shoulder with one quick movement. "Theo-!"

"Nope! Sorry not aloud to speak remember. Just trying to help you find other ways of shutting me up!" Theo yells back before I can scold him. When he talks me into the house I face the three others, who look highly amused, and I sigh.

I've always known Theo was one hell of an ice breaker, but I never that he'd be this good. I'll give him that.

"See what I have to deal with?" I ask, pointing down at Theo while looking at the girl with an amused expression. I see now that she's actually smiling for the first time, and I swear for the life of me I didn't expect butterflies to erupt inside of me.

But they did, and a pit soon formed where they had flown from.

Theo spun me around, causing me to yelp as he ran into the living room. "Theo I swear-!" Suddenly I feel my body falling into leather cushions, and my blond hair fans out onto the couch. He looks down at me with satisfaction, grinning widely. I squint my eyes at him and blow a strand of hair out of my face. "I hate you."

He teases me with a wide smirk and tilts his head like a child. "Aw I love you to Joey." I scoff at him, and just before I can tackle him as pay back we both turn our head to a voice.

"Theo leave the poor girl alone and come help with the food."

Theo's fathers tone was light, but it held a twinge of sternness. His gaze said the same thing as well, but they held more happiness then I had ever seen before either. When Louis removes his gaze from Theo he looks back at Harry and starts a conversation, walking with him into the kitchen with his arm thrown around his shoulders- or at least as well as he could. He's not exactly the tallest man.

When I look back at Theo I see him still looking at his dad, his eyes trained solely on him. He was in a daze, and his face was blank. That's never a good thing.

Reaching out, I pull on Theo's pinkie. This grabs his attention quickly, and I make sure to ask him quickly with an expression if he's okay. Biting the inside of his cheek he nods before walking to the kitchen himself. I watch as he leaves, and disappears around the corner to the next room.

"They don't really get along do they?"

I've never jumped higher while sitting down in my life. I would have screamed if my throat hadn't seized up. My head had snapped to the direction of the voice, and I saw Syreana sitting comfortably at the curve of the right angled couch.

"When did you? How-?" I look from her to the back door and back frantically. "What?" An aspirated sigh left my mouth as I asked the last question. What type of witchcraft does she know to be that quiet?

She chuckles at me and smiles widely as her body leans towards mine. "You two were too busy gazing at people," her smile goes down as she continues with a shrug, "besides I didn't want to interrupt."

My eyebrows furrow together and part in a quick motion before I let my body relax from its sudden flight mode activation, and I turn more to face her. "Theo's dad seems happier this time is all..." I say with hesitation. I'm not about to give her everything right now. "I think it because you both moved here." I offer her a smile before asking, "Are you happy about moving."

Syreana rests her head on he fist, that lays against the top of the couch, and glances to the right every so often. "I haven't decided yet."

My eyebrows twitch out of confusion. What? How does one just decide what they feel? If she's being serious- I need her to teach me her ways.

When she glanced back at me I saw the corner of her mouth raise. "I mean that I liked it in New York, and I know nothing about this place. I'm biased right now." She looks at me, right in the eyes. I already know she's going to be an eye contact person. It's like she's trying to look into my soul. Maybe she'll find something in there.

"I need time to decide, need to see if this was worth the move." Her gaze pierces me, and I swear it was like I was being held captive by it. I literally went paralyzed for a few seconds.

"Joey! Syreana! Time to eat!"

I shake my head after she moves her, releasing me from her gaze entirely. What the hell was that? I hear the cushions squeak across from me, along with the bristle of her pants caressing against each other as she passes by me. For a few seconds I just sit there. When I start to get up I feel someone grab my arm.

"Come on I'm hungry!" Theo whines as he drags me around to the dining room.

For the rest of the night I couldn't help but keep glancing at her. Anytime she spoke, or even if she didn't. Whenever she caught my gaze she would simply smile. I don't know if it was to tease me, but I couldn't help but being embarrassed every time I was caught. Though my embarrassment never stopped my eyes from keep doing it over and over again. The worst part is that I have no idea why.

The only thing that I do know for certain...

Theo is a lifesaver.

I honestly don't know if I would have looked away at all if it weren't for him. Well actually- I didn't. I would have fully drowned in her green emerald eyes, that almost looked like a snakes, and I wouldn't have done a single thing about it.

This is where it all began.
