Ink

The Shop had been way too busy, Errit had his own objectives and they were quickly met. One Month after getting his Appraiser Token, he had earned his level five badge. There were about 800 that had been done with his own herbs, he broke every monthly achievement record at the depository.

His contribution points had reached an extreme level and it was burning a hole in his pocket. There were an abundance of things at the Auction House, it was time he found something to spend it on. He pulled out the cart and drove to the Auction house across town.

Inside of the book of Enchanted Weapons and Items he started to read the lists, almost none of the items were the same. Though, the gravity boots were still present and second pair had come along. There were hides from different beasts and a few other household items that made sense, self cleaning sheets, bottomless bottles and potions of all manner filled the pages. He bought many things along the way through the list, paying as he went. Browsing, he found a Potion of Helios, a long lasting flight potion. Its downside was that when it ended, it ended. Skipping forward until something interesting came into his view, he ran across a Crystal. It wasn't that the crystal's ability was all that great, in fact it was rather revolting. The concept it worked on in the description is what caught his eye.

He read it out loud and to himself, "Esper Crystal Core Seed - Lemsen Brown Core - Negative Rank, Eating this type of Crystal Core seed will increase your ability to breath toxic air, you will also be resistant to poisons. However, you will become completely undesirable as target for enemies. Nothing will ever bother you, or bother with you. You will become virtually invisible to most enemies. It advised to not use this crystal. Placing this crystal into a necklace or magical accessory will help remove toxins from the air within 10 feet, but will emit the smell of shit continuously. 10000CP" Errit laughed. He tried not to do so, but it was hilarious and actually not cheap.

The next was a pair of shoes. 'Soundless Sneakers. These are white, but the ones I read about last time were marked as black.' "there must be a producer nearby.." Errit wondered what else he would find, he hit the purchase button on the writ , the auction house attendant retrieved the shoes quickly. 35000CP was a hefty number for a pair of shoes, but Errit was swimming in CP from the sale of the Herbs and rocks in his collection. He kept his more rare materials for himself, a vast majority of the herbs he had turned in were grasses that grew along the streets and wetlands.

Page after page, he kept finding strange things that had a use but it was easy to see why some of the items were for sale. Errit found a pocket dimension key. It brought the person to a pocket dimension, with a small house in the center of a large field. The house was garbage, but the pocket dimension was a very strange thing to see for sale. Errit paid the 2 million for the key, he wondered if he could grow herbs and sleep in it. After paying for it, he immediately tested it out.

"Its so quiet." Passing through the grassland, he could feel the energy inside. It wasn't rich, it wasn't poor but it was usable. He tested his growth ability, pressing his fingers into the dirt he could see the grasses grow and seed, fall and grow. Thickets formed and towering grass grew in a wave around him. He jumped out of the grass that surrounded him and landed near the path. There was one room inside the house, it was much closer to a shack. A fireplace stood on one side, though with the constant sunlight being generated above, he wasn't sure if cold would ever happen inside.

Errit left the key dimension picked it up off the floor. 'Ahh.. I guess I can't take the key with me.' It made sense to him, how else would the key even let him out in the correct place, and they key can't go inside of itself. There were a few more things he really wanted, a weapon besides the blaster and fitting set of clothes. He found a spear, it was a lot like the three he had already. The spear could extend itself slightly, only an extra three feet but it was a great hidden weapon and the other was a caged creature.

'Edreni Seeper, an ink demon. Capable of writing, they do not speak. When in the wild, they tend to blind their prey and then eat them slowly. This one is collared and obedient. Raised by the Mi Clan, they reproduce over time, splitting into two. It is suggested that if your Ink demon splits, to kill the other, or put a collar on it. Releasing Ink Demons into the Kingdom is strictly prohibited.' Errit finished the description, paid and left. He had actually found a magical tool to dictate for him. When he arrived at the shop, his opinion changed.

The Ink Demon stood in the corner, unwilling to work. Errit checked over the details and saw a contract clause in the fine print. 'Ahh, I have to form a contract with it.' "Fuck, How do I form a contract with it?!"

Errit tried talking to it, nothing happened. He read the writ again but didn't see anything, he looked through a few books and found a reference to the collars, they required a slave contract. Errit cringed at the term.

"Hey little dude. I don't wanna put a slave contract in place. Why don't we do this instead, You write down what I need and I'll treat you like you exist. I hate the concept of slaves, so this is easy for me. What do you think?" Errit really wanted to Ink Demon to listen, he kept talking. "They won't let me release you in this kingdom, but.. how about this too, I don't plan on staying here forever.. why not help me till I leave the kingdom, and then you're free to do whatever you want.

There was a change in the form of the Ink Demon, it picked up a paper and sat on the counter. Small footprints followed in its wake, lingering afterimages of its steps. 'Looks like its agreeing..' Errit started to talk, while he spoke the Ink Demon moved. It was quick.

'Haha, this is gonna be great.' When it finished writing his writ, Errit grabbed the little guy and spun around. "This was great! How many do you think we can do an hour?" Errit realized how weird it was to ask the Ink demon a question when it couldn't speak, but it was exactly what he said he would do. He had begun to acknowledge the Ink Demon, it sputtered around as if it enjoyed the way it was spoken to.

They Ink Demon pulled a paper from the stack and and wrote its name, -["Lisetya"]

'Oh, Its a female.' Errit swiped the paper with the name and pinned it to the wall in the back room.

Laying down on the rug, he started to wonder just how bad things were about to get. He had a feeling that life was about to be very complicated. His anxiety got the better of him, and he jumped into the pocket dimension. The Key fell to the mat.

"Its quiet here." He sighed, unclenched and laid in the grasses to stare at the sky, it was still daylight and he was tired.. Looking around the open field, he took out the ship that was buried in the lake. It landed gently and settled into the soil. There was a bed inside, Errit went to sleep.
