Lisetya's Obsession

Her successful transcription of the words from his mouth had convinced him to leave the majority of the writing to Lisetya. Her inking was much better and more accurate, making it look almost typed on a computer. Each letter was perfect and uniform. The Ink Devil was actually very good at distributing ink where ever and however she wanted.

For the moment he was having her dictate all of his findings, both in the journal as he worked and as the transcriber for the shop. He wasn't sure what the Ink Devil ate, but he was going to find out. He sent Vae to the Library with his CP tabulator to search during the daytime and at night he was treating her to her favorite foods. Liquefied Darkness Elemental Essence, 10000CP an ounce. Vae had bought a liter and spent almost 300000CP.

It was worth the money, Lisetya worked harder each day. By the end of the second month she had been working in the shop, there were no hiccups and productivity was at an all time high.

At night, Errit would wander either his pocket dimension, or the wetlands outside of the City. The patch of ancient plants near the depression had been picked clean, he moved further up the mountain and started working his way toward the falls.

The base of the Falls were filled with random species from across the rivers edge, once Errit sunk his fingers and the chains into the soil the reaction that created the surge in plant growth started again. He focused his power and plants grew to a full ripening, lots of orchids bloomed in the grasses near the cliff side among the mist, bloodbowls and hammerdash, fraer weed, liretten roots and Magnetire groves grew. Vast plantlife spread out in a great wave once again. Surging to ripeness and aging like fine wine.

A Treant came rushing through and buried its roots into the river, enjoying the feeling and growth. It began to fruit.

Errit stopped what he was doing and stared at the Giant Ransonor Treant, "Hey, if you're going to stay.. give me some of that sweet fruit!" he jumped up and toward what looked like it might be the face of the shamble.

**___** It shook him clear of its branches and turned to swipe at him. It missed.

It shook its leaves.

The Treant moved its roots closer to Errit but stopped at a certain range. 'Huh? why there?' Errit knew there had to be a significance. He took a step forward.

The roots moved back. "Interesting." A smile crept across Errit's face as he dug the chains into the soil. They started feeling around and grabbed at the root. Pulling it from the ground, Errit used them to slap the Treant's root away, just as he had been swatted.

It pulled back and stood where it was rooted, still.

Errit started to pick the herbs while he waited for the Treant to change its position. When he was leaving, it started to follow. Errit looked at the Ransonor and channeled his ability to his fingertip.

He let it accumulate and pool, the Treant moved closer and went to grab at the glob of energy. When it did, it was quickly retracted into Errit's hand like it was a lie. The Treant felt something, it changed its posture and backed off. Errit hoped it was thinking something over when one of the fruits dropped to the forest floor. He waved and took it away, then sent the energy to his fingertips again and sank them into the soil.

The Treant blossomed, more fruits appeared. It started to relieve itself of the fruit so that more could grow, after an hour, a pile of fruit had fallen from its branches. Errit had over two hundred of the Ransonor fruit. When he turned to leave, the Treant followed again. Errit didn't quite understand why it was following him, but he took out the Key and dragged it into the Pocket Dimension. He threw a few of the fruits under the soil, buried his fingers into the dirt and inundated the pocket dimension with his energy. The ship was quickly surrounded by tall grasses and the Ransonor Fruits had sprouted.

Treant saplings wondered until they were far enough away to get full light, sank their roots and started to grow into a grove. Errit laughed, spit at the dirt in accomplishment and left the pocket dimension.

When he returned to the shop there was a surprise waiting for him. Lisetya had a book on the countertop. It was titled Lisetya's Apology, it had no cover, but that didn't matter. Errit started reading it immediately out of pure curiosity but couldn't put it down. Inside the book were detailed notes on many of the things Lisetya had run across in the Demon Realms, their own versions of pocket dimensions, virtual hells and extreme environments tailored like bedrooms and pleasure craft.

'It has a few chapters, she must have been working on it all night' Errit thought about it and thanked her, it was a bit much but it was very welcome. There were detailed notes on Buildings, Formations, Magical Swords, Weapons he hadn't considered, Poisons, Plants, Rocks, Animals, Beastkin, Devils, and Espers. Errit gulped the further he got into the stack of papers. There were over 200 pages of detailed descriptions.

He picked up the Ink Demon and walked into the backroom, laying her on the rug. Energy started flowing toward her and she swirled around in the bucket. 'Looks happy.' Errit took off the mask and his clothes. Then, he went back into the pocket dimension to use the bathroom in the ship. His biggest fortune yet, an operational toilet.

About 20 minutes later, he was outside tossing herbs into the soil and organizing them. Some of them would reproduce rapidly, according to the book, the more energy that accumulated in the pocket dimensions, the larger they could become. Using the chains as plows, the field was quickly sorted. Inside and on top of the ship, he started stacking the crystals and other natural materials he had collected. They radiated outward and into the dimension, permeating it, changing it.

'This is a good start' He flipped through a couple more pages and started laying out a simple formation. All the materials were already inside, after finishing the spellwork he cut the formation circles and placed the cornerstones. A Vissur Pad, Gilises Foredeu, Korel'ssen Talon and a pile of Crystal dust marked the formation in lines.

He fed the formation as much energy as he could rid himself of, it came to life. The pocket dimension started to expand. The space between each of the trees expanded. The whole pocket began to stretch and flex, ballooning as it expanded its bubble. Feeling the drain, Errit went back to the ship to rest, he kept reading to see what else could be done.
