A Chain Reaction

Hundreds of people were headed toward the massive and newly erected building, the words Kinky could be seen from miles away, visible from much further than the City itself. The Tower stood like a lance into the heart of the Capital.

Errit was sitting inside handling the hundreds of people bringing their items, which hadn't even been appraised into his shop. He would buy them for a fair rate, lowering them a bit if he had way too much of it. There was a listing of things that were not in desperate need, things to be avoided, written on the walls that faced the line. They repeated every ten feet or so along its edges.

A Desk with a number wheel stood in the middle of the entryway. Many chairs were set a few feet apart to give the appearance of spaciousness. The Hostess, Invega, was twirling a Fischer foot while thinking of a reason not to eat it. Her sharp teeth tore into the meat when another person came up. She handed him a number. "Have a seat, our current wait time is only a few minutes."

Everyone was led to Kink's office, several tables made from different materials were sitting in the room. Each designed for different reasons but all of them worked as sorting tables. I'll give you 47,320CP for the lot. You can forgo these in the future." Kink pointed to a set of grasses. "I have a few hundred prime specimens just like this, its very common, still useful but harder to sell since its so common." Choan shrugged, accepted the deal and was about to leave when she noticed a sign on the wall.

"Gardener wanted, FULL TIME, Bloodoath Contract." She read it out loud, it was hard to understand. "What sort of Gardening required a Bloodoath Contract?" She asked.

"Kinky Company has a private medicinal garden, you'd be tasked to manage it to the best of your ability. The Job is mostly open to appraisers, since they can identify the plants more easily during harvests. Do you have any experience with Appraising?" Kink was curious, he was always interested in getting more women into his workforce, they're much easier on the ears and eyes.

She shook her head, "No. I've always been good at handling the herbs. Oh well, it was worth a shot." Choan quickly gave up notions of getting a job and went to leave.

Errit stopped her. "So you're good to plants, that's fine with me. I have some specialties that need to be tended to I'll hire you, but since you don't have the experience I'm looking for you'll have to learn about what's currently in the garden and go from there. I'll have to lower your pay to 300CP a day, but I think given the time you spend searching for herbs and materials that 300CP is rationally a good and steady pay. You'll be provided quarters and food, is that good with you?" Kink asked as gently as possible. It was a sort of commitment, she could refuse after seeing the garden but that was what the Bloodoath was for. "The Bloodoath will prevent you from every sharing the information you gather with us, with others.."

She finally understood. "So does that mean I get the Job?" Errit looked her over and nodded again.

Reaching for a contract in his storage, he pulled an empty storage ring out of a bag as well. "This is a Storage Ring, its yours, keep it, use it. Here's your first day's pay and a brief manual on your duties. Hold out your hand." Errit pulled a tiny needle out of the side of the contract. When he grabbed her hand, he pricked her finger and she smeared it on the contract. "Welcome to Kinky Company, I'm your boss, Kink. This is my assistant, Lisetya."

Errit pointed toward the Ink Demon floating in the corner. "Lisetya, could you please take her into the garden and show her around." He handed a stack of clean paper to Choan. She looked confused, he said, "These are for her so she can relay information to you. Just go with it." He pulled the dimensional Key out and placed it on the counter.

Lisetya touched both Choan and the key, they entered and the key fell flat.

Errit still had a bunch of people coming in, he was buying as fast as he could. With Lisetya gone, he would have to do everything according to the notes he had on him. She was gone for an hour before she returned, Lisetya had a note with her.

'Hey boss, this place is friggin awesome. I asked Lisetya if I could eat some of these fruit, she said it was okay. I'm going to clean things up in here, see you when you get here. - Choan -.' The message ended with a winky face. Errit was glad to have her back at his side and got down to work. It was almost high noon.

Jay was having an interesting time doing his rounds through the line. He just kept repeating the ad and watching the officials' heads swell like they were ready to burst. Their anger was blinding at one point, when the suns started cooking the people in line, rocks started to be thrown at the city appraisers, they were being cursed and pelted with rubble.

'Seems like everything's going according to plan.' Jay watched Koesr from a distance as he kicked over a man who threw a rock. 'wow, he's really taking this role seriously.'

Koesr turned around and stormed inside without the adventurer. When he went inside, he made sure to get everyone's attention. He found Chief Rubora and threw the city appraiser badge in his face. He kicked the Goblin in his leg, knocking him over and yelled out inside the Depository. "I QUIT, YOU LOUSY NO GOOD PIECE OF SHIT! I'M DONE. YOU MISERABLE FUCKING TOAD, LETS SEE HOW THE COUNCIL FEELS ABOUT THIS."

Rubora's eyes twitched. 'eh? what's this? what the fuck, no, no' he thought in his mind. His heart pounded and Rubora passed out from panic.

Koesr's expression was priceless. He walked up, spit on Rubora and left. 'OH my goddess, you sexy beast of luck, you smile on me.' Koesr started out the door, three other appraisers followed him. As they walked down the street and away from the Depository, they were very vocal about quitting.

Jay stood in silence. He watched one of the other appraisers bring up Kink and the building that was suddenly standing, glaring everyone in the face. "Man, that's huge. Look, its got red at the tip. Ha Haha, Ha." he laughed awkwardly.

Koesr was quick to jump in the drivers seat and change direction. He said, "I hear they are looking for Appraisers, lets go see what they can offer."

Chief Rubora came running out of the Depository like his hair was on fire. Like a nail in the coffin, he yelled "You'll never work in this town again!"

The four of them laughed and walked straight into Kinky Tower's Lobby. "Hi, we're appraisers" They almost said in unison.
