Decisions

Jackson woke up even earlier the next day, moving Jasmine off him carefully before he left the tent. Jackson could guess it's around 3am, by the position of the moon.

He casually walked toward the forest telepathically taking to shadow, "stay at camp I'm going to go for a walk, let me know if you need my help." Shadow jumped from Jackson's shadow sitting down where he landed looking at Jackson's back as he continued walking. "Be safe leader, I'll await your return." Shadow said as Jackson disappeared into the forest.

Where Jackson entered the forest was the same area he told Shadow to run the previous day and shadow knew this.

Jackson started running through the woods not long after he entered it, he couldn't help but want to run faster testing his new body's limit.

Jackson was running faster then he has ever in his life, even weaving through the trees was a simple task letting him keep his momentum at he pushed forward, jumping into the trees he leaped branch to branch like Tarzan.

Jackson kept going like this for a while before he was to his last tree, he jumped out the tree line. 20ft from the tree he just jumped from, immediately two spot light shined on him with a male voice through a mega phone.

"Don't move if your friendly and if your not, I suggest you walk away." The voice said in a loud like they were the only ones in the forest, as if resonating with Jackson's thoughts orc's jump from the tree line, just out his domain rage on both sides of the compound.

The men inside scrambled to give orders to each other, indifferent of which side to protect. "I'll kill all the orc's to the south deal with the north." Jackson shouted but it sounded more like a roar, the men moved into action as Jackson moved across the field faster then anything the men on the wall has ever seen.

Jackson was on the group of 5 orc's in moments, catching one off guard sending a all out round house kick to the back of a orc's head sending the head into one of his companions making them turn to see the headless orc with a fountain of green blood spewing from the stomp with Jackson standing behind it.

They turned to him blinded by anger rushing toward him not noticing the screwdrivers entered two of their ears killing then immediately.

The last two orc's found out quickly that Jackson wasn't no push over, he was able to block and counter attack with ease breaking the orc's morale making them sloppy letting Jackson finish the last two with ease.

Jackson read his system message finding out why he was able to kill this group with such ease.

[5, level 4 lesser orc's killed experience earned 5,000]

Suddenly a giant gate open next to him that perfectly blended with the wall. A 5'8 woman with blue hair flowing behind her, wearing iron armor ran over to him with great speed. he immediately put his guard up but the woman stoped dead in her tracks bowing to him.

"Please we're losing on the other side" but before she could continue Jackson darted past her making wind pass the woman. He ran straight through the compound jumped over tents and small shacks to the other side where the men were definitely losing their fight against a orc that Jackson could tell was blooded.

Jackson pushed his legs to the limits as he jumped into the air spinning forward using his telekinesis to make him spin even faster he became a blur as he preformed a Webster flip connecting to the top of the orcs head. (Aka a fast front flip, landing his heel on the top of the orcs head)

The orc was having so much fun killing weaklings he didn't see Jackson, when his attack connected the orc was shocked taking a couple steps back before falling on his ass with a lump formed on the top of his head.

Jackson ankle took far less damage then he originally thought, his ankle was perfect fine other then being a little swollen.

Everyone who seen Jackson's entrance was stunned for a second before they regrouped standing next to him.

"You guys get the dead and wounded out of my way, the big guys all mine." Jackson ordered approached the orc as it shook his head standing cursing Jackson in his unfamiliar language.

Suddenly the same woman approached the stunned group telling them to listen to him and updating them on the situation.

The orc reached behind him revealing a hammer like weapon. Jackson smiled as he pulled out the short sword he claimed from the orc the previous day from his inventory.

The orc in front of him trembled with pure hatred in his eyes staring at the blade. Jackson gave him a good look turning his blade back and fourth in the moon light "looks familiar? A friend of yours maybe?" He asked mockingly.

The orc gave Jackson a drop dead look as he put his hammer back on his back before running away with tremendous speed. Jackson was tempted to follow but the woman from before approached him with a man next to her.

The man was 6ft with black hair wearing the same kind of iron armor. He saluted to Jackson with a shaky arm "Sir Death sir, thank you for your help, what honor do we have on seeing you tonight."

Jackson chuckled at his nervousness causing the man flinch a little "I'm was out for a walk then suddenly a spot light shined on me and orc's started to raid you, I did the human thing and helped out." Jackson answered with his normal deadpan like speech.

His tone was somewhat spine chilling and the fact he was covered in orc blood only added to the fear they felt from his presence.

Suddenly a guy casually walked over taller then them all looking down at Jackson over the two people he was taking to.

This man was 7ft tall with blonde hair with chiseled muscle that he hid under his long sleeve shirt and sweat pants. "Ooo a new blooded one huh? Is he causing all this trouble?" He asked in a friendly manner but his eyes said something different as he stared daggers at Jackson.

The woman in armor turned around with a pleading look on her face as she spoke "no sir he's actually the one who saved us without him the casualty's would be much worse." She spoke like a trained soldier to her captain.

The mans eyes softened hearing her words but Jackson couldn't help but ask "and if I was what would you be able to do about it?" The two turned to him with horrified expressions as the man started to laugh with a hand covering his mouth.

"Then I would have to kill you" he said as he stopped laughing all the sudden with a very intimidating smile that forced the two between them to shutter.

But Jackson could only smile "I would like to see that" he said casually with a smile that made a vain bulge on the man's forehead and visibility making the ones between them sweet.

Suddenly another woman that was 6ft with blonde hair with a long ponytail wearing leather clothes put her hand on the angry man's shoulder.

"Why don't you guys swing your dicks away from the civilians" she said tightening her grip on her shoulder making him bend to her grip, grabbing her arm.

"Alright, alright. Let me go" he pleaded bending to her grip even more. She scoffed as she released his shoulder smiling toward Jackson "thank you for you help, but if you don't mind not pissing off my hot headed brother, much appreciated" she said in a friendly tone that only made Jackson want to laugh but he didn't, in fact his face casual and hard to read.

He shrugged looking around noticing everyone moving about quickly, repairing the gate's and moving medical equipment to the injured. "You take everyone in?" He asked bluntly getting the woman to smile a little.

"Anyone who's willing to pull more then they take. we also need people like you, blooded and strong." She said with a smile leading Jackson into another question but he just looked around nonchalantly.

"I have 63 people not including myself, nobody is blooded like me but I've been giving them basic training."

The woman's face brightened with a smile "that's great! When will they be here and what kind of transportation?" She asked eagerly, getting her brother to scoff as he walked away.

"We have two jeeps and two 18 wheelers, we will probably be here a hour or two past sunrise." The woman's mood seemed to visibly brighten the more he spoke. "We desperately need more man power at the moment with all these orc's roaming around."

Jackson looked at the woman putting out his hand "Jackson" the woman looked at him strangely before smiling again. "Rose" Jackson shook her hand before walking away leaving the compound with everyone moving out his way on the way out.

As Jackson left the gate he started sprinting back enjoying the wind pushing against him as he leaped from branch to branch once more.

It didn't take to long before he was back to camp maybe 30 minutes or so, he also noticed his little walk lasted 3 hours.

So by the time he was back the sky brightened up a bit and some people were already up moving around packing their items. Approaching the camp Shadow ran toward him "welcome back leader. Jasmine was asking about you, she's helping the elders"

Jackson patted Shadows head as he past him letting the wolf blend and disappear into his shadow.

Jackson walked over to the cabin to see Jasmine sewing together alligator skin nicely forming a small jacket. When Jasmine noticed him she put down her sewing ket running over to him. "Shadow wouldn't tell me anything, where did you go?" She asked hugging him looking up with a pouty face.

He leaned down wrapping his arms around her picking her up "for a walk" he cheekily answered as he put her down.

She crossed her arms like she was upset but she was smiling "everything is basically packed besides the tents, anything extra you want to grab?" Jackson eyes went blank for a second as she starred into them until they returned. "Nothing I can see."

She smiled once more picking up the jacket she just sewed together "you like it?" She asked holding it up to him letting him grab it. "It's nice but I think it's a little small for me" he said nonchalantly getting Jasmine to giggle "I made it for Clementine, it's a bit bigger then her because she'll grow into it quickly."

Jackson nodded at her forward thinking as David walked into the cabin "everything is packed waiting for your order" Jackson looked back to see that the elderly woman already packed the rest of the sewing supplies leaving the room was cleaned out.

"Let's move" Jackson ordered with his arm around Jasmine as they walked out to the cabin to the front jeep.

They used the same formation as before, jeep in the front and back with the 18 wheelers in the middle. Jackson was in the front once more with Clementine to his side with Clementine next to her wearing her new alligator jacket that covered half of her face when she was sitting, with Rick driving and Stella as the passenger.

The road to the camp was a narrow and full of roots so the ride was bumpy and slow taking them close to a hour to get there.

Entering the small clearing the the giant gates opened letting everyone in, Rick turned to Jackson but Jackson reached past him for the radio. "I already talked to a couple people here. Everyone enter slowly and follow their direction." Jackson ordered putting the radio back leaning back putting his arm around the bewildered Jasmine.

"Is this where you were?" She asked with a smile getting Jackson to crack a smile himself. "Had to make sure it wasn't a group of bandits."

Rick proceeded forward slowly as people started to guide him through the camp toward another gate that wasn't visible to the eye unless opened. This gate lead into a giant compound with regular houses here and there with shops selling a variety of things.

The second they past the gate they immediately turned, entered a giant building with roll down garage doors. This building was a warehouse that you could go straight through, having two side rooms on both sides stacked with tools and engineering equipment.

Exiting from the jeep a grease covered man cowered a little in front of Jackson. "This is good spot for them, please wait for other blooded to get here before you do anything." He tried to be demanding but all he could muster was this in front of Jackson.

Jasmine's giggle made the man flinch as he turned around opening the hood of the jeep. "Jumpy isn't he?" Jasmine asked with a smile as everyone got out, getting all their belongings in order.

"You're immune to my presence. I'm like a lion surrounded by deer and they can feel that I could kill them with a thought." He said, whispering the last part into her ear, with a more intimidating smile then he wanted.

Everyone gathered around Jackson hoping for answers after being in the dark for so long. Seeing this Jackson cleared his throat getting anyone who wasn't paying attention to listen.

"As you seen we entered with ease, it's because I was here earlier. I wanted it to be kind of a surprise because when's the last time you had a good surprise?" He asked with a smile that seemed to lighten the mood and make some laugh a little.

Suddenly Rose approached them, "welcome to a new beginning we call this place Edith. I'm Rose and I'll be your guid on what this place is about, please follow me."

Everyone turned to Jackson waiting for his order, he smiled as he walked with Jasmine to the front of the line standing in front of Rose. "We're ready, lead on."

Rose mentally noted how loyal his companions were as she turned around leading the way out the garage. "This is our newest garage it was just built a week ago." Everyone took a closer look around releasing how clean everything was as they left the building walking along a sidewalk.

This place looked almost exactly like a regular housing development with bigger, better buildings here and there with houses remodeled into shops.

"So how manny people do you have here?" Jasmine asked as they followed Rose toward one of the bigger and fancier house.

Rose didn't turn as she answered, "we have over 20 thousand people here with over 4 thousand of them blooded." She explained as they approached the building that looked like a miniature mansion having two big men in armor, with a simple glance you could tell they were blooded.

"This is our leaders house please keep your weapons holstered and follow me." Rose asked with a little edge to her friendly tone letting everyone know that it wasn't up for debate.

Jasmine stood on her tippy toes, whispering in Jackson's ear "so what's their level?" She asked only able to see question marks. He shrugged "I didn't pay attention, I'm sure I could handle anyone here"

Rose got a chill down her spine hearing this but at the same time she smiled remembering the man who made this place.

They walked straight through the house to a back office that had bigger doors then usual. Entering the room everyone could see a 8ft black haired man looking out a giant window.

"Victor Sir, the group I was talking about is here to see you." Rose said with clear respect in her tone getting the attention of everyone.

"Very good, leave us" Victor ordered in a nonchalant tone as he turned around showing his shining bright blue eyes, clearly inhuman eyes.

She bowed slightly before she left as everyone stared at Victor as he smiled. "Welcome to Edith. I'm what you humans call an alien, to explain I'm not from your planet. I'm from manny, manny light years away in a different galaxy. I'm a @&$?! and my hobby is to help dying planets thrive again by helping the most intelligent species fight back against their predators. This will be my 10th planet with the record of rebuilding a world in 30 years."

Victor said this calmly said all in one breath almost like he's said this hundreds of times and ready to say it a hundred more as he read everyone's facial expression's .

Everyone couldn't comprehend what he was saying for a moment. But by the way he spoke they very highly doubted he was lying. The only person in the room that actually had no reaction was Jackson. He stood their, staring into the man's eyes like he was trying to look into his soul.

Victor smiled as he cleared his throat "I know this may hard to believe, but I think honestly is the best way to trust. If anyone has questions I'll answer the ones I see worthy of answering."

Jackson smiled as removed his arm from Jasmine's shoulder walking over to Victors desk. "I would like to know how you expect me to trust someone who's using a skill of some kind on us. I see it's not hostile but that's not the point." He said waving his hand in the air at the silver mist he was seeing in his domain.

Victor flinched a little before he put his hand to his mouth as he started laughing getting everyone to look around confused.

"As you said not hostile, this skill as you say let's everyone relax and have a open mind, I sincerely apologize for not telling you. You are the first to actually see it used." He said with a bow and a serious tone but he couldn't help but smile.

"Now that, thats out the way. do you know what's going on to our planet?" Jasmine asked stepped up beside Jackson getting Victor to stand straight up again.

"Your world was once peaceful with your race at the top of the food chain yes?" Victor asked with a smile like a patient parent, Jasmine nodded before he continued.

"Suddenly some kind of monster or virus killed over 70% of your race, initiating a system fail safe to save your race and all its non infected species."

Everyone was speechless not knowing what to say or ask next. "So if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask, but for now let Rose finish your tour and give you a hot meal." He finished what he had to say, turning back around looking out into the giant compound, that looked more like a small city from his position.

Exiting the room everyone realize why the door was abnormally large, it's was so Victor could walk through comfortably.

Rose was waiting for them outside "I hope our leader isn't to off putting, where would you like to go next." She asked with a smile only looking at Jackson knowing he would be the one to answer.

"I actually would like to know what you want us to do, what are the jobs here?" Jackson spoke just like rose though but his question, made her want to laugh.

"You just got here, do you really want to work already?" She asked with her casual smile not bothering to look at anyone else.

"I don't take charity. I've earned everything I've ever gotten, so yes before I do anything else I would like to know what kind of work you provide." Jackson's cold deadpan tone sent shivers down the spines of the random people around them, but Rose was easily able to keep her cool.

"Alright please follow me and don't get lost." She said as she lead the way with Jackson's group behind in a single file line, that made most people move out the way or stare as they walked by.

They walked for 5 minutes or so on the sidewalk, entering a area where vehicles are active in the road. They approached a building with the word Devision on the side of it, walking in there weren't manny people there.

Rose lead them half way across the room before stopping and turning around. "I will warn you these jobs are mostly outside the wall and are life threatening. We have hundreds of safe jobs inside the wall that can also give you levels slowly but we would appreciate all the help you're willing to provide."

Everyone hesitated for a moment watching Jackson and Jasmine walk forward without hesitation, Suddenly Jackson stopped turning around to look at everyone.

"This is your chance to live without fear all the time. But as you can see me and Jasmine still have a world to explore and we don't want anyone who doesn't want to go with us, so for once you have a choice, you can pick the way you want to live."

Jackson's words were as if he was a mind reader. everyone wanted to pick their own path a decide how they would carry forward, but nobody had the courage to speak their mind.

Clementine pushed through the group catching up to Jackson's side grabbing his hand. "I'm with you no matter how much blood is ahead." She said confidently as they continued walking forward smiling as a couple more followed.

The rest watched them approached the counter without looking back, before they left the building with another person ready to guide them, Rose already prepared this knowing people would split up here.

Jackson seeing mostly everyone leave he turned to the remaining people, but he could already guess who was left by the color they imitated.

The ones remaining were Mark, Lori, Fred, Breckin, Noah, Anthony, Tanya, Tom, David, Rick, Logan, Stella, Jean, Karen and lastly Bobby.

Suddenly Tanya stepped forward with her usual deadpan expression "I'm going to take a look around for a while and learn what I can, I would still like to report back to you if you would let me." She said not changing her expression getting a smile out of Jackson.

"Sounds good I'll try and do some investigating myself. See you around." Tanya gave a short nod before she walkout the door they entered.

"She's always a interesting one" Jackson said with a chuckle as they approached the counter a middle aged man with black hair and a large scar running across his face going through one of his eyes making it a different color.

"Welcome to the Division hall what kind of deadly quest would you like to participate in? We have rescue missions, assassination missions, dungeon clearing and manny more."

Everyone looked between each other before looking at Jackson. "We don't need any kind of badge or anything like that?" He asked curiosity getting the man to smile. "Yes but that's after your first mission to see if you actually want to do this or not. So what will it be?"
